Anons, What are yours opinions on the show "The Owl House"?

NOTHING

Every disney show recently is better and I'm glad it's failing after it fucked over all those other shows

Make the humor a little darker to measure up to the 'horror comedy' description, ditch the school stuff (you can still keep the friendships/rivalries) and it would improve.

Hashtag Relateable.

might be the worst show ever made
im embarrassed i was so excited for it

Formulaic.

Luz is very cute and fuckable.

Not nearly as much Eda as I hoped it would be. More Eda, please and thank you. Luz is a fine MC. She's pretty fucking sociable for a girl whose backstory is that she has zero friends because she's a fucking weirdo. King is surprisingly tolerable. I'd prefer if it didn't talk, but his lines are pretty funny at some points.

Amity is best girl.

A WASTE of potential. Its jumping around so badly story wise that its lost focus.

Originally it was about a weird girl who was obsessed with magic all of a sudden being the apprentice to a rouge witch.

Instead of learning magic they are world building at a school she is suddenly going to.

She learn about edas sister

Multiple episodes of the town.

The Protagonist has only learned 1 spell and nothing else. She only has till the end of summer to top it off

That upper lip is so fucking distracting.

>She only has till the end of summer
Who knows it'll be like Phineas and Ferb where summer lasts 4 seasons long

It's good, but it's impossible to have a discussion about it on Yas Forums because of the hordes of pedophiles.

It's a bootlegged Harry Potter.

They shouldn't had made the school such a prominent feature in this show but now it is and that's just how I feel about this cartoon now.

>whole episode devoted to how The Boiling Isles isn't like all those tropey fantasy books Luz likes so much
>nearly everything in TOH is either fantasy stock or blatantly borrowed from other series

I love the way people turned in profile actually have the pupil sitting at the back of the lens instead of acting like the pupil and iris are just stickers painted on the eye.

Guys hear me out.

The show should’ve have a fourth character in the main cast. I know it sounds similar to Amity but what if Luz had a cousin (more relatable to Latin Americans who has cousins to hang out with) who belittle her because s/he sees Luz as a black sheep of the family.
Luz’s mom tells her niece/nephew to go to summer camp with Luz if she do anything weird.
It can have a dynamic comparison with Eda and Lilith and Amity and her twin siblings. Show the dysfunctional relationship between Luz and her cousin but also show how they both care each other.
We sees through the half of the season that Luz mostly go to her adventures with other side characters and not with Eda and King. If they add a fourth main character, we can see more screen time adventure with Eda and King!

Call me a faggot but I see that my idea can improve The Owl House

Luke Weber is right all along

Faggot

It's boring, but that little 18 year old brown spinner makes my balls churn.

Disappointed that there never going to dapps with Eda!

It sucks, sadly. Having A and B plots fucks the episodes a lot, and they do it because the fucking idiots make Eda too OP

>Eda got the cruse by human transmutation

Eda is so much more entertaining than Luz its ridiculous.

Among the recent female lead isekai cartoons, the protagonist is not the most interesting one in general.

> Eda had a miscarriage, loss her son never told Luz her son was half human

This is the kind of show I imagine an amateur fan would make. It knows what fans wants, and serves up plenty of it, which feeds the endless threads. But it has no unique vision, and it's not well crafted. It's telling that most threads about it are focused on head canons, theories, and pairings, all things external to the show.
This is essentially Star Vs 2.0. It's not that delusional yet, but it's got time. I'll hate on it when and if it reaches that point, but for now I remain apathetic to the show. The only thing to lament is that so many can be suckered into mediocrity, or sincerely value unimaginative tropes, shallow relationships, quirkiness, obvious and flat dialogue, and largely stilted animation over something with real wit and creativity.

>It's telling that most threads about it are focused on head canons, theories, and pairings, all things external to the show.
Theories are perfectly valid areas of discussion. You can only discuss what literally happens in an episode for so long. Head canons are also theories as long as they don't contradict anything shown. Shipping is... a thing that happens, even with good shows. But it's not the mark of a bad show. I mean, this is a bad show, but those aren't the symptoms.

>Star Vs 2.0
It won’t be if the crew don’t insert the shipping drama into it

You're right, those are fun and I don't begrude people for doing it. I partake too. But the issue is that is all the Owl House threads are, at least the ones I've bothered to look into. That's indicative of a lack of substance, and it jives with what's I've seen from the show. I've watched every episode. It's so thin that people are desperately trying to create depth with theories.

You're being too kind to Star Vs if you feel only the shipping was wrong. It was bad up and down and sideways. The nonsense shipping was only a symptom of the hollowness at the show's core. They knew they had nothing else to keep people engaged.

>Among the recent female lead isekai cartoons,
>isekai
It's about as much "isekai" as Harry Potter is. Less the Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, even. It's established in the first episode that she can go home at any time - hell, Eda snatches random crap from Earth to make a living. Luz is basically at a really weird summer camp. A pretty central theme of the isekai genre is that the protagonist ends up in a new world and, um, yeah, they're good with it. They're fine with staying there. So they stay there.
I know Yas Forums doesn't give a shit, but if you keep diluting the meaning of terms "because it's easier" you end up with shitty words that mean nothing.

Star VS season 1-2 was at least pretty fun. Owl House is just bad

The shipping in svtfoe was bad.
The nonsensical non-moral ending out of left field where Star stopped genocide by committing genocide of innocents?
Yeah, that... that wasn't something you can blame on shipping.

Fuck spics

It's based and cutepilled.

It's the official cartoon of the Club Atletico Boca Juniors

I need to sit down and watch it; I haven’t seen a single episode.

It's Gravity Falls but... without the sharp humor or the plot.
It's a nothing show. There's no appeal.

How has the lord of the Yas Forumsomers not seen a single episode of owl house? That explains the lack of Luz stories I guess.

Hey!
It has Eda.
Sure it has nothing else going for it, but... um...
Well, it has Eda.

>otter dislikes The Owl House, but can't stop watching it

I'm sure the future wine aunts love her

All I know is that the few slides showing her own experiences in magic school made for a more enjoyable story than the entire episode preceding them. Luz is the weakest part of her own show, followed by her weenie friends.

why do I see people looking for you in threads. who the fuck are you?

I’m just a writefag that takes requests, user.

Your probably a better writefag than me, can I request some cute anger fueled make out session between amity and Luz? I’m hoping you know who they are even though you haven’t even watched it

I know what they look like, but not how they act or speak. If I wrote them it would probably end up being extremely generic, that being said though; I plan on sitting down this weekend and watching the show, so after I do that and learn the characters, I can probably do that for you, user.

Largely this. I’ve only watched like four episodes, but the best way to describe owl house is that it is somebody’s first webcomic turned show prematurely.

when is Luz going to meet Eda parents?

Funny
Cute
Wholesome
But inconsistent

So after this weekend you’re cool with taking owl house requests? (I’m the guy that made the Luz request thread a few weeks back)

It's probably because King is a more interesting friend for Eda to have than Willow and Gus are for Luz. Sometimes who your character interacts with is as important as the character themselves.

Interesting, but I didn't really like your idea

King fucking sucks, dude.

I didn't say he was the greatest character ever, just that he was better than Fat Friend and Black Friend.

Hey again, user. More than likely, I’ll watch the show Friday and see where it goes from there.

I watch it for Luz and Amity, because they're cute and funny.

That's about it. The show is so obviously "well researched" focus group tested and based on statistical analysis that it might as well be machine written. It's soulless at its core and devoid of content. It tries to dazzle you but the attempt isn't coming from an authentic place. It's artificial.

It's not terrible or the worst thing ever, but it reeks of corporatism.

Owlbert is based and Hootie is cringe. Why did they give the bird friends such different niches?

>a fourth protag
It would straight-up be Gravity Falls again if you gave Luz a constant familial presence as a foil. It's not a bad idea, but it's blatantly derivative of a show people are already comparing this one too. Plus, one of the complaints a lot of people here have is that Luz doesn't spend enough time with Eda and King. Your idea exasperates that.

Directionless, inconsistent characterization and proves why it's really important for artists to actually sharpen their writing skills before they jump into making a script-driven cartoon.

>Luz is supposed to be a friendless weirdo
>She makes friends with non-eccentric people easily and even converts the bully in two episodes

>Luz does taxidermy in her spare time
>The thought of hacking away at a worm corpse disgusts her

>Luz is shunned by people because she does weird things like flipping her eyelids inside out
>A freaky monster says good morning to her and she audibly groans at its disgusting appearance

>Luz thinks Eda's potion selling chores are boring and wants to bail
>She is then excited to prove to Eda episodes later she can outsell everything at her booth

>Luz apparently has a lot of maternal instinct and it gets easily rattled
>She runs away from the chance at taking care of three bat demon babies

And last but not least:

>Luz is super eager to learn magic
>She's in a fucking library and never once tries to look up old methods of magic and just fucks around instead

If you're going to be THIS random with your cartoon, don't have an arc or suggest continuity. Go Billy & Mandy style where it's full nonsense and resets every episode.

The problem is Owl House theories aren't actual fan theories of people trying to figure out the plot. They're people going, "What if Owl House was more like FMA, then it would be good" and branching out from that. Making up theories about Luz partaking in transmutation, what if she had to make a sacrifice, etc.
