If you ever feel like you're pointless and unnecessary, take a moment to remember about russian Cinderella's stepdad.
Needs more Vinni Pukh.
>that MILF fox
i distinctly remember seeing images from a trippy short with some blonde girl with a white dress and a flower crown doing stuff with a sheep or goat, does anyone have the short
Step aside.
I remember seeing some soviet version of Jungle Book when i was a kid, it wasn't bad from what I remember.
wtf
>be Hungarian
>most of our cartoons are animal themed
>didn't became a furfag
Kind of a miracle.
user I...
I mean personally I didn't become one.
I wanna see that laid over a map showing neo nazis in germany
I think I watched this as a really young kid. Did it have a scene with tranquilizer darts?
Nazi furries are my favorite kind
I don't remember what I do remember there was a lot of death in it, animals eating each other and getting shot by hunters. It wasn't the type of stuff I had seen in American kids' cartoons.
Holy fucking shit I remember this. It was about this baby fox growing up to be an adult fox. His dad gets killed and his grampa has to help him learn how to hunt. He starts this crusade against the hunter and his dogs and becomes this really sly fox who kills chickens ... and you're suppose to root for this character.
But I liked how they didn't rush it or bullshit. The main character complains that he has to wait until sundown to start hunting, his grandpa tells him to rest so he can hunt for the night, the little shit like any young energetic cub roams around till he almost falls off a cliff and only then goes back to sleep.
It's these executions that make for great storytelling, not like todays' faggots who rush through it or waste time with senseless filler for an entire episode.
Can't wait for this shit in 4K. Hope someone rips the Blu-ray when it comes out.
A bunch of classic Hungarian films are free to watch for a limited time on Vimeo, including some vintage animation. Best opportunity to check them out, though not all of them have subtitles. They're on the bottom of this list.

I really wonder why Cat City / Macskafogó never became a cult classic outside Hungary
I head it was fairly popular in the USSR. A lot of English comments I read about it were pretty negative though. They thought the jokes were unfunny, the animation looked cheap, the ending was rushed, and some dipshits thought it was sexist and racist. To be fair, the wordplays would be hard to translate and the English dub was heavily censored. It probably wasn't advertised much either.
Reminded that the US also purchased distribution rights for Johnny Corncob but never released it, they only used its footage to make a pair of animated music videos for a Hanna-Barbera TV program.
Truly returning to their animistic pagan roots
I'm not the only one who saw this?
What's the fox cartoon named? How many episodes does it have and where can I watch it?
me on the right (sleeping)
Which of your cartoons are animal themed besides Vuk and Cat City?
Kérem a következőt, AKA Dr. Bubó
Vízipók-Csodapók
Captain of the Forest
The Rabbit With the Checkered Ears, kinda
The Seventh Brother
Willy the Sparrow
some episodes of Hungarian Folktales
numerous stop motion series and puppet shows I can't be bothered to look up
And Vuk and Cat City both have pretty bad sequels.
It's one of the most, if not *the* most, famous and well regarded animated films for Hungarians, so you can be sure there are a few million others who have seen it and continue to rewatch it regularly.
Is there a Blu-Ray or DVD with hungarian audio and GOOD english subs?
>I head it was fairly popular in the USSR.
Ukrainian here. It was often broadcasted here during my childhood so it's well known among 90's kids. Love it since I was 8 or something.
Fun fact: the little girl who sang the opening/theme song in Hungarian was a contestant in Eurovision as an adult.
>And Vuk and Cat City both have pretty bad sequels
You now remember Kis Vuk.
How the mighty have fallen
I want to fuck Kriszta. Such great ginger.
She was hot af in S3 (A vakációsba)
>Villain redeemed himself.
what a strange movie.
i forgot the source.
the nose ruins it.
Holy shit, I remember this cartoon. My grandparents had it on VHS when I was little... that was like... only 4 or 5 years after the fall of the USSR. How did it get translated and into the US so fast?
you can honk honk it.
there was some talent show where poor birdl wanted to win
or something like that
Based.

"Miss New Year", one of the very last cartoons made by Baseduzfilm before the union collapsed. It was kind of a rushjob with more errors and recycling than usual.
oh Nostalgia hits like a wall.
>when she takes off the dress
Here's the trailer for the 4K release:

I've also found the original.
It's a bit scratched, and there are no subtitles, but here you go. The full movie:

Thank you.
Surprised Hungarian Folk Tales doesn't get a mention
Man, I don't understand how the colors and the saturation of this movie got so messed up in the version that's currently online, which is the release most people have watched. Everything's so bright and lush, to the point that heaps of detail are lost and the visuals are a strain on your eyes. Compared to the restoration, the difference is, almost literally, night and day. Even the audio sounds compressed as heck on the old release.
From what little I've seen of the film's correctly colored version, it's like a different experience. The remaster was an absolute must.
their animal tales suck.
Will there be regular good old 1080p version?
>vuk
why is the fox called "wolf"?
