No.

>if Muppets Most Wanted didn't flop we could've gotten a whole series of GOAT Muppet movies
Pain.

In relation to what anyone can do with them anymore. Even Henson started struggling with having them relevant.

If Jim lived we would have gotten more Waldo C Graphic and CGI Muppets.

>People loved Avenue Q
>Co-creator of Avenue Q is in Mouse's payroll
>He has an unproduced Muppet script about Kermit as Hamlet
>Don't ask him to make any Muppet things

Fuck no

I've resigned myself 9 to the fact that we'll never get a Muppet Around the World in 80 Days. I've had that idea since I was 7.

Kermit could be Phineas Frogg, Gonzo and Rizzo as Passportaou, Statler and Waldorf as the old guys that make the wager, lots of room for Muppet and celebrity cameos....fuck, it writes itself!

Nope

release more seasons of the the old show for fucks sake

You're not entirely wrong, Treasure Island and Christmas Carol were both really solid movies.

They stopped making that in 78. I just don't don't see them suddenly green-lighting the next season.

Muppets Most Wanted was a rather sad sequel to The Muppets. It's like The Muppets gave the Muppets a bunch of goodwill, brought them back into the public eye only to have it wasted on Muppets Most Wanted, a Straight to Video movie at best.

Who is best Muppeteer and why is it Jerry Nelson?

not at all. There hasn't been any relevant media featuring these guys in a long ass time

sorry, meant re-release on DVD, they did the first three seasons like ten years ago then nothing

>look up his page on the muppet wiki, he was literally everyone

good, let disney kill them so they stop coming to Yas Forums

That first new movie they made was great, but they didn't strike the iron while it was hot. They should have immediately followed up with a new muppets show within a year or two of the movie coming out, not like 4-5 years like they did when the fire died down.

At least Most Wanted was a story about the Muppets instead of a celebrity's self-insert fanfic.

1st new movie sucked because it featured a faggot, and had anti Semitic undertones
2nd movie was seriously russophobic and frenchphobic

The ABC series was pretty good. Shame the cancelled it, and were walking back on Kermit and Ms. Piggy not being together.

Hell no. They barely use them for commercials now.

That office knockoff show was terrible and they didn't get it until it was too late.

people don't like muppets

I’ve always seen people casting a Muppet Pride and Prejudice, with Mr. Darcy as the only human, and there’s another one that just writes itself

That's where I got the idea

>Muppet Show: Last a good 5 seasons and was stopped before the concept over stayed it's welcome.
>Jim Henson Hour: Does new Muppet stuff and some amazing creature shop effects, canceled mid season 1. Had most of the original puppeteers.
>Little Muppet Monsters: Canceled mid season.
>Muppets Tonight: Made it to second season, people complained about Clifford being the host instead of Kermit despite Kermit being in almost every episode. Canceled. Had fun new characters.
>Muppets Live Again: An exclusive show planned for Disney plus, was canceled before a pilot even was filmed.
>Muppets Now: a 10 minute improv show.
>Sesame Street: Going strong with 51 seasons.
>Fraggle Rock: Did all it could and was ended in season 4.
>Animal Show: Canceled mid season.
>Mopatops Shop: Canceled
>Bear in the Big Blue House: Did all it could.
>Ghost of Fahgnah Hall: Canceled
>Secret life of Toys: Canceled
>ABC's Muppets: Canceled before season 2 is even considered.

people don't like you

You would think the Muppets of all concepts, having come from a variety show itself evoking vaudeville, would take to a fish like water for youtube shorts, skits, and ads alongside (good) films. Literally have the youtube stuff be about just doing a new version of their act on the internet to reach out to the audience.

That'd mean Disney would have to spend money on them doing it.

>Golden Trilogy
>The Muppet Movie
>The Great Muppet Caper
>Muppets Take Manhattan

>90s Post-Jim Trilogy
>Muppet Christmas Carol
>Muppet Treasure Island
>Muppets From Space

>Direct to Video Trilogy
>Kermit's Swamp Years
>Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie
>Muppets Wizard of Oz

>Walter Duology
>The Muppets
>Muppets Most Wanted

>Creature Shop Trilogy
>The Dark Crystal
>Labyrinth
>Mirrormask

>Sesame Street Trilogy
>Follow That Bird
>Elmo In Grouchland
>that upcoming movie

>Literally have the youtube stuff be about just doing a new version of their act on the internet to reach out to the audience.
They did that, but then they just stopped for no reason.

Muppets needs to come out about every 10 years people need to miss them before they will watch anything

Part of the appeal of the original Muppet Show was seeing well known celebrities really goofing off and taking the piss out of themselves on national television and frankly not as many celebs are as game yo so that today. Their public images are too closely managed.

Because it's hard to monetize in a way that is consequential for Disney. YouTube clips aren't even pennies to revenue that their other franchises pull down.

>frankly not as many celebs are as game yo so that today. Their public images are too closely managed.
The fuck are you talking about? If that were true, Eric Andre would never have any guests appear on his show.

Was Elmo in Grouchland theatrical?

It was. It bombed, only made $10 million on a $20 million budget.

People still give a shit about this IP?

More then your favorite IP.

As good as a multi billion dollar corporation can with a property they bought. That’s is to say, they’re sucking the chrome off a car bumper.

Here’s another question. Did Disney and the Henson company do Steve Whitmire dirty?

Yes I do. I grew up with Muppets.

Yeah, they fucked him over. Steve's a sweet guy, but he made the mistake of thinking he was Jim and could offer production advice. What's even worse is Steve needs the Muppets as much as the Muppets need him, because when he's left to his own devices, you get his webshow.

No. His Kermit was awful.

i was never into the muppets as a kid. what is the difference between them and sesame street?

Here's a good question. Which franchise does Disney use more between their two Henson IPs they fully own? The Muppets or Bear?

Found the Disney shill.
Vogel's kermit is clinically depressed.

The only reason why Muppets was not forgotten was due to Seth Macfarlane being a huge fanboy of the franchise and pushing several dozens of Muppets references on his shows.

They explode more.

Less educational content, humor appeals to a broader age range. Sesame Street was what you put your toddler down to watch while you did something else. The Muppets was what you sat down with your whole family to watch after dinner.

Uh...No?

You sound retarded. Muppets is still the most watched show on Earth. Lay off Seth's dick.

Vogel sounds so wrong. Why couldn't they pick Peter Linz to play Kermit?

Cause Linz didn't play Constantine!

Johnny Fiama coming through! Make way for Johnny Fiama!

Muppets Tonight is underrated.

Johnny and Sal were fucking great.

Vogel's also pretty overloaded with character responsibilities between inheriting Big Bird and most of Jerry's characters.
