Despite MANY years of Babs very openly disliking Steph, they ended up with a pretty great relationship by the end of the preboot timeline. Somewhat an inverse of Babs and Cass, whose relationship only got increasingly strained as time went on, then finally fell apart completely. (Though they still cared for each other deeply through all of it, and given time, probably would've properly reconciled.)
Kinda makes you wonder if Babs learning from the mistakes she made with Cass and trying to lighten up on the judgmental, overbearing parts of her mentor/maternal instincts made some positive difference there.
