So is it just me or did humanity in the Dragon Prince do literally nothing wrong? >Get treated like 2nd class citizens for not having any natural magic >Manage to find out you do have magic, you've just got to use tools, same thing humanity always does, can come from plants, animals, even rocks (Moon Opal yo) >King of dragons spergs the fuck out and threatens to Hiroshima 420 noscope an entire city because you Humaniggers didn't know your place was at the back of the bus >Chad dark mage saves 100,000 lives at the cost of his own thus proving that dark magic isn't entirely, purely evil >In return for this, the elves ethnically cleanse humanity out of the entire known world >Enforces borders with Smaug I'm totally down with strong borders mind you, but it seems to me that the entire thing is basically a giant human reservation post Dragondrew Jackson Trail of Tearsing the entire human race.
Then we have the situation with the fire titan >Retarded king makes a promise he can't keep and betrays the trust of his people so he can feel good about himself and beat off about my SocJus >Dark mage finds a solution, 1 Magma Titan vs 10,000 human lives (Because it won't be the king that starves, am I right?) >They get the heart >They save all those lives >King resents him for it because Lmao the easy way out Motherfucker that wasn't easy was it? It certainly wasn't 'I'm born with the gift and just have to remember the finger wiggles and the words' easy.
NOOOOO THEY USED DARK MAGIC WHICH KILLS THE BUGGY WUGGIES
Jayden Rodriguez
It's incoherent because modern writers are retarded.
Jason Johnson
I blame it on California morality. >Look at me, I'm an edgy Hollywood hipster here to tell you about how wanting to improve your life and not knowing your place is evil from my multi-million dollar one bedroom apartment in San Fran paid for by my trust fund.
Fuck it, Viren is about 80% right 50% of the time. The fire titan did need to die to save all those lives, King Harrow shouldn't damn well blame him for his wife's death (Also, man, King Harrow, 'I want everyone to be equal under the law...but not you dark mage, kneel and fellate the servant-King!'), the Dragon Prince does have the potential to be a weapon, Dark Magic is a legit practice and Ez did turn out to be a weak king.
I think the moment that perfectly encompasses it is the mob that runs them out of town in season 1. This is meant to be shown as a moment of human bigotry against the innocent elves akin to a Klu Klux Klan lynching. Except the King has just been assassinated by elves. And she was fucking one of them.
This show is a complete mess.
Austin Johnson
If anything this show is too sympathetic to humanity.
In proper fantasy they should be content to accept their fate because elves are always right.
Christian Miller
Elves are for raping even the males
Zachary Murphy
Where's the fixit fic where Elves get marched to the ovens for their warcrimes?
Jack Miller
Don't forget that despite hundreds of years of race war, it can be magically ended in a day because a baby dragon was returned to it's mother.
Aaron Young
Honestly I wish callem didn't have any magic at all. I want a regular non magic charecter to beat those magic fucks.
Logan Torres
>Hey, remember all those pogroms? >Remember all those parents and children who died for the sins of their parents? >No you don't. In order to move on that must be forgotten. Forgot all those injustices, for the sake of your children. >Let the final murders of your kind and theirs be left unavenged. In the name of peace.
Or create the IRA and start killing children like the sick fucks you are. Peace-keepers my arse.
Lucas Parker
isn't this the literal justification some terrorists use for their attacks
Alexander Scott
>Dragondrew Jackson Can we just take a moment to appreciate this?
Jaxson Gray
Because whatever answer you give them to "It was okay to kill them before, but not now" they will not accept. But mostly it's a combo-wombo of vengeance and the desire to carry on something that has become, out of necessity, a good thing. A glorious thing. Can't call yourself a good person if you admit that murdering fucking knife-ears is still murder and not something greater like protecting the realm or someshit
Either way. Dark Magic = bad, staying in your elf-made ghetto = good.
Nolan Ramirez
Viren's problem was just that he was right for all the wrong reasons, he hated dragons out of envy rather than the righteousness he sold to the people. Still better than old man feels and the child king but he had too many flaws to bring about justice.
Xavier Morgan
Give me an imperfect vassal who is trying to improve the lot of those around him over a self-proclaimed good person that does dick.
Perfect example, that shit with the fire titan. The Kings duty by all rights is to represent the interests of his people. Not other people, not everyone in the world, his own people, because they have no one else. The king going 'Lmao we'll share in their suffering' was the highest hypocrisy, because it was never going to be him that suffered was it? It was going to be the plebs and proles. The king should have said 'Sorry, but I can't help, my people come first, have anything we can spare but that's the lot, I'll call the Pentarcy and they might be able to help as well, 2000 people each isn't that much. You have my backing'
Meanwhile, as much of a shit head as Viren is, he came up with a solution beyond 'Let my people starve because my feelies'
That entire arc/story was a perfect microcosm of everything wrong with the whole globalist, we are all one big family, John Lennons Imagine type mentality. Sure, it feels good, but guess what asshole, if you abandon your people then they have no one. The people of the other Kingdom still have their two Queens looking out for their interests, but yours have nothing.
Zachary Allen
Yeah. But this isn't a story grounded in realism. It a fantastical story supposed to show nationalism = bad, globalist = good. And everything that happens in the story is done to support that story.
Grayson Sullivan
The boy king teaming up with dragons to incinerate his own people really hammered that in.
Jacob Williams
>Sure, it feels good, but guess what asshole, if you abandon your people then they have no one. The people of the other Kingdom still have their two Queens looking out for their interests, but yours have nothing. Is the idea not to look out for each other's interests in this one world globalist fantasy? If someone isn't playing along and is just looking out for themselves they cant be part of the feel good utopia
Nolan Wood
>Chad dark mage saves 100,000 lives at the cost of his own thus proving that dark magic isn't entirely, purely evil In any decent story this would've been a fantastic chance for the magic creatures to gain some complexity and texture. Some of them split off and join the humans in protest over the atrocities. They either then are kind of mixed in with the plot still or could be a great chance for a 'No, even if you're one of the good ones you won't be spared' grey on grey moment when humanity harvests their organs out of spite-revenge.
Lucas Wood
user you should've realized it was a globalist fap-series about the time they didn't even have the stones to have the elves react disproportionately in revenge for the dead king and actually go after the other Kings of the Kingdoms and instead had it be a dark mage pulling a false flag.
I wonder if The Dragon Prince has its own Alex Jones within the setting. >I'm seein' black attack dragons over the storm spires >A new world order! One world order! Everyone knows the Prince was never missing. I've got documents saying he was on Primal Mage Epsteins private island!
Justin Moore
>Globalist Are you guys aware globalism was imposed over the third wolrd by force? Many times third worlders rejected globalism because they have to follow le free market meme unironically, therefore the CIA overthrowned democratic governments through all over the world and any small country that even consider the posibility of supporting the local economy or even worse, starting an industrial revolution, get fucked by economical sanctions, biased media and in more extreme cases hired mobs and corrupt generals. Just saiyan.
In any case, what I find in TDP is the typical elitism of the progressive American liberals that see the working class as the enemy and see themselves as an enlightened elite. Considering Netflix is getting more expensive every day, probably they want to focus more on upper-class whites rather than the working class and the social media in general is infamous for secluding people into safe spaces where their ideas are constantly validated
>Are you guys aware globalism was imposed over the third wolrd by force? Yes, by the Jews.
Jaxon Jackson
>Yes, by the Irish. FTFY
Grayson Hughes
>Yes, by the English As an Irishman, let me fix that for you.
Luke Collins
No. >Yes, by the Irish Fucking Fenians, the eternal victim. Don't like it? Go cry about the potato famine some more.
Connor Hall
It's Jews
Jackson Davis
>Dragondrew Jackson Trail of Tearsing the entire human race Something tells me you made this post just so you could say that.
Connor Howard
Question is really is that funnier than >Humaniggers didn't know your place was at the back of the bus
Noah Thompson
back of the continental bus.
the human lands are a shitty wasteland compared to the rest of the world.
elves where condemning humans to slow starvation without dark magic.
Michael Nguyen
Eire propaganda.
Try again, Paddy.
Jeremiah Carter
Look, all I'm saying is humanity wouldn't have got shitty if the elves had helped us out. We didn't do anything and we just needs more magic for them prog- Nowhangonafuckingminute.
Shitposting aside, this is one of those few times I can completely say I'm pro-welfare. Magic is an infinite supply item for every species except humans in setting. So why didn't they just help us?
To be honest, I think a lot of the problems can be blamed on humans being seen as lesser beings by those in power - namely, Sol Regum. Dark Magic isn't so much evil as incredibly dangerous but Ziard was right in using it if it saved his people. Sol Regum, however, wasn't happy with uppity humans daring to try and help themselves in the only way they knew how, so... yeah.
This show has a lot of moral complexity, but ultimately, I think the basis cause of it all lies on Xadia's head, especially Sol Regum who tried to burn down an entire city because Ziard didn't want to go back to being lesser than dragons and elves.
And don't think we aren't supposed to see Sol Regum as in the wrong, this guy tried to kill the Dragon Prince Zym because Rayla wouldn't abandon Callum. He's just an asshole.
Nathaniel Peterson
This really happens?
Charles Scott
No it's the whole elven race we have to genocide them all and take back rightful human clay RACE WAR NOW
Not exactly. He wanted to remain dedicated to peace, but Viren managed to get installed as king, with every intention of killing Ezran. Ezran escapes and opts to help his friends - among them his older brother - stop Viren from attacking the Storm Spire and getting Zym the Dragon Prince.
Oh, and Viren's army had been turned into a bunch of lava monsters. The dragons didn't harm them, just made them stronger. Like, soldiers from Katolis were in the army but not all the soldiers, as a few decided that Viren was going too far and allied with Queen Aanya then wiped out Viren's army.
Parker Mitchell
"#WOKE" SJW pandering garbage
Juan Scott
No, that's Glee.
Blake Barnes
He might be an asshole but Dark Magic is treated as if it's far worse than he is. >Dark Magic Literally the worst thing ever, how dare you, 30 minutes of 'I can't believe you saved my life you fukboi' while in a coma >Sol Regum Seen as a symbol of anger and bitterness. Not 'This fucker is actually, unironically a war criminal' but the symbol of being a bit salty. If Xadia had any sense of decency they'd have exiled him. But they didn't.
Also, how the hell is this fucker still alive when anyone that gets caught crossing the border gets given the mobile electric chair by Dragon-I.C.E. Because by the sound of it this motherfucker is literally the source of dark magic being a thing that people keep learning about.
Jackson Turner
>That second part. Amen man. I mean credit where it's due they have had one voice of reason in the show on that front. Queen Plank, she born of two lesbians.
100% on the side of her people, wasn't willing to discard them for Virens 'Oh but the knife-ears, join me in my one world order uwu' Unironically based and redpilled.
Jason Hill
I think it comes down to Dark Magic being kind of like a drug. Look what it's done to Viren and Claudia. It's got its uses, sure, but the overreliance on it has caused some big problems. Also, only Xadian characters are shown having a problem with Dark Magic, except Aaravos.
Yeah, Sol Regum can't be exiled since there's nowhere to exile him to, save the human kingdoms and that would basically be Xadia admitting they are at fault, which those in charge are obviously against ever doing.
I'm guessing they decided to give Aaravos a fate worse than death as punishment for what he did.
Michael Cruz
they did but it kept humans subserviant. when they found a way to be independant, elves and dragons got mad. its basically a class warfare thing.
Henry Torres
i say, kill the males and breed the females until elves are extinct.
Benjamin Martinez
Yeah, basically this. Status Quo got upset.
Blake Gutierrez
>If Xadia had any sense of decency they'd have exiled him To where? Human lands? Yes send the bitter xenophobic psychopath to live with the people he wants to genocide
Luke Taylor
>Yeah, Sol Regum can't be exiled since there's nowhere to exile him to, save the human kingdoms and that would basically be Xadia admitting they are at fault, which those in charge are obviously against ever doing. There're islands to the north and south. Tell that fucker to get the hell off your island and go cool his balls in the snow for a few centuries.
>I'm guessing they decided to give Aaravos a fate worse than death as punishment for what he did. God I hope there's a better reason than this, like they were trying to undo some ancient curse he set on the world by tricking him into revealing how to undo it. Because leaving this horny Machiavelli alive and just trapped because 'Deaths too good for him' would've been the supreme peak of retardation.
Jack Turner
I don't think they could have exiled Sol Regum even if they wanted to. He was a former king of the dragons, he's bound to have had followers immediately after his fall.
Remember, the Dragon King and Queen kept the mirror very close to them. They weren't letting him out of their sight. I'm actually blaming the Dragon Guard who ran away for Viren getting the mirror at all. He's one guy, with a magic staff, how can you just leave two people behind while you all run for your lives?! Strength in numbers!
Jaxon Powell
Yeah fuck elf women human dick is god we'll teach them to worship cock haha FUCK ELVES
Jacob Lee
Isn't this pretty much what Callum is already doing? I mean every male elf we've seen so far has turned out to love that dick so they might not even mind Callum kicking in the door to the occasional village and shouting 'Where the pointy women at?'
Austin Campbell
thats the beauty of the thing.
for all i know, callum himself could have elven ancestry. photographic memory, able to cast all elemental spells. only he can do that (he didnt try teaching elemental magic to anyone so we cant know)
Luke Ward
>The future of the setting for The Dragon Prince is ROUNDEAR'D porn and people forcing globalism by going 'You know who else believed that sort of thing? Viren' You could have stopped this, ect, ect
Easton Rogers
>able to cast all elemental spells He has only ever done sky magic unaided
Gavin Martinez
>callum himself could have elven ancestry. Oh for fuck sake that's actually retarded enough for them to do it. That'd just make humanities complaints even more legitimate.
Dylan Parker
didnt he do some moon magic recently?
Josiah Ortiz
yup
Jack Peterson
with a moonstone.
Xavier King
>Why the fuck can't we do magic >Ayy, it's no problem bro >What? You're going to help us? Maybe teach us. Or let us harvest sustainably in order to use mushrooms and rocks to do this new type of magic we've discovered that we can do >Nah bro, just let me fuck your wife with my magic dick >... >Your kids'll be able to do magic no problem, well, your wifes son am I right >... >Oh god! He stole my magic dick to make a potion with! How could this have happened?!
Justin Hill
Know what I want? I want a spin off series about the first Dark Mage, because that fucker looked amazing. >Softly spoken but charismatic >Actually cared about people enough to sacrifice his own life >Seemed to understand the responsibility that came with his magic, didn't just have a bunch of dragon dicks laying around to cast that death spell with, had to grab some magic on the fly >Honourable enough to meet Cuntasaurus Rexit alone despite him being about 120 tons of Klansman Dragon. >Apparently friends with Star elf before Star elf was mirror'd Give me a prequel series about those two. They can even swordfight with their dicks on screen to hit up those diversity bonuses on the reviews or some shit.
Ryan Cook
Both of those are just subtypes of jews though. >island jews & island jews potato edition
Cooper Martinez
Presumably related to the legendary deep water jew?
Alexander Sanchez
Remember that Judaism is NOT a religion. It is a tribe.
Brayden Cox
The only part the humans actually did wrong recently was Harrow's revenge. They knew the risks of going into Xadia to get that titan. The queen willingly went with them and risked her life. They did it to save their people, and that was the sacrifice they made. If Harrow and Viren could have taken that on the chin and moved on, the plot would have not even had to happen, because the elves showed no evidence of retaliating for the border violation, they only retaliated after the ultimately unnecessary revenge death of the dragon king, and because Harrow bought into Viren's logic right at the end that they could put a stop to the threat by ending Thunder's line as well (How exactly? Xadia would still exist, it wouldn't easily forgive that, so what would killing the egg solve?). It was a completely personal action, taken as a grieving husband, not as a king doing the right thing for his people, and it's the actual reason the conflict has escalated at the time of the story.
