Internet. Keep in mind all decades before had a million tracks that never get repeated on any playlist or radio station but the fact of the matter is that now the amount of music has probably doubled because even neets in their spare time have the technology and equipment to make decent enough music that would have required a lot more production in the past. AND they're able to send it around really quickly and you're not stuck with radio or records or cassettes or whatever. But while this has benefits it also has the downsides of oversaturation and novelty. A lot of this music is only popular for the meme factor and once it's novelty's worn out people don't want to hear it anymore like how those ancient memes from the 2000's sticking around a lot longer than the incidental week long memes of today. There are some pop songs that will get played a lot in the future from this decade but there's a lot more that won't get past even a week.
