this is too dumb for sugar even though sugar is easy to predict. but it's pretty obvious that pink in her actual pink diamond state is slipping through steven. the eye shape. the excess curls in the hair. it's quite possible the rejuvenator did something and pinks just been spectating while fused to steven

His gem is reacting to stress, they explained it in a previous episode. Even if you removed Steven's gem and then hit it with the sycthe you wouldn't get PD. There's nothing left of her "data" to revive.

Or maybe--hear me out. Maybe Steven rejecting to be anything like his mother is what's coming out; he's refusing to be himself, which unfortunately entails some of his mother's traits.

That's only the case because PD's clearly defective as she didn't come out of the mold ready to do her job. Not much to reset to.
SU consistently fails to deliver on its premises and arcs. That's just a fact. There's a great foreshadowing of a mighty enemy, or a massive cataclysm, or whatever else, and then it sorta falls through.

It's a fact on Yas Forums maybe but I've never been outright disappointed with any of the resolutions. Now, that's not saying they're 10/10 of course, but disappointment isn't the same thing as them being expected or merely decent.

It tended to build up a lot of hype and the massive delays made everything that was not perfect stick out way too much.
On a rewatch, I've noticed maybe 10-15 episodes in the series in total that are entirely skip-worthy and don't have Gems in them, but from the amount of agonizing people went through over every fucking townie episode, you'd figure there were ~50 of them.

Eh, "filler episodes", or throwaways, can be fun. But I can understand not wanting filler episodes.

Filler is fine, but not when you get five episodes each few months. That's the problem, SU had filler when the role of filler, padding between plot, was taken up already by months of waiting between steven bombs.

It's a fair enough comment honestly. Hiatuses nearly killed the show and did for a certain amount of fans. But I have faith the finale will at least be entertaining. The arc conclusions usually are at the very least.

For me it was the stuff AFTER the conclusions where shit gets reset back to zero stakes wise that annoyed me. It's intentionally done so but still.

I am curious to see how this plays out. Every episode we're seeing people fundamentally be unable to save Steven (Connie, Greg, Jasper) and I doubt the Diamonds and Spinel can break that trend, however I don't think Steven can just save himself on his own. He's in too deep to just epiphany his way out of this mess.

Peridot is the only positive influence in his life and I think thats great, Steven should marry her and adopt some kids and make sure any visits to the gems or his dad are closely watched to make sure they are not such fuck ups around his kids as they were with him

Korra's finale was fine honestly, just more of a finale for the character than it was for the show as a whole. You could really feel the disconnect between seasons at that point.

The show already had a finale. Future is the epilogue, not the sequel.

Anybody expecting anywhere near as much closure as Change Your Mind or even The Movie is getting their hopes up

If anything it'll be more likely to be open ended. Steven drives off allowing Rebecca to resume whenever and however she wants while still leaving on a hopeful note.

Like I get it's just easier to say something is shit rather than explain your reasoning but Star VS took the literal conceit of the show, decided it was a bad thing (about two episodes before the finale by the way) and then killed it along with thousands of sapient and innocent beings. Not to mention the fucking chaos of two worlds merging.

At worst SUF's ending is going to FEEL rushed which is just something you can't really get away from with 11 minute episodes.

I'm pretty sure the fixing of Jasper is unprecedented.
It took all the diamond juice and Steven using upgraded healing tears to fix her, and even then she's clearly scarred.

corrupted gems are also physically scarred and are happy with their lives. Emotional scars matter more in this show than physical and given that it's Jasper, it's hard to tell if she was fucked up by it given how she is already a mentally unstable lunatic.
Unprecedented or not, now there is a cure for death in this universe, so nothing matters anymore. Steven can leave a bottle with his spit/tears, so the crystal gems can go into a suicide spree for fun and they will be fine. If death can't stop them, why should I even pretend that they can't deal with their emotional issues? They have all eternity.

Change Your Mind was so terrible, I don't even know how Sugar could top it. She hasn't done a single satisfying conclusion to any arc in the entire series, and now she has to cap the series itself.
