Japan and South Korea are preventing explosive growth for now with wide spread testing and other measures, but most countries missed the window for that and are on their way to being Italy without pulling draconian bullshit like China.
The disease has supposedly leveled off in China (which is probably a lie) and South Korea (which is more likely honest), and I was looking at an article earlier today where Italy is potentially projecting a peak of confirmed cases within the next seven days.
