I liked The Batman vs Dracula.
Fuck yeah I do
some of the redesigns were alright, but bane's redesign really needed work. his un-roided form was sort of cool, but his venomed up form looked like a bootleg ben 10 alien.
also, the joker's design wasnt very good. I could see what they were going for with his matted hair and hunched-over stance and acrobatic moves, like hop-frog from edgar allen poe or something, but it just didnt do it for me
It will be remembered as the last Saturday morning Batman cartoon
Yes, it was underrated back in the day.
Very.
I remember Batgirl fondly
Totally. Though having watch it on Saturday morning for what must have been years I never remember this series unless I see someone talk about it
No. It was too soon after JLU. There needed to be more time for a new Batman show.
I like that they introduced the idea that the Justice League was Batman’s idea and Superman was against teaming up with other heroes.
The show used logic in their interpretation. Batman is never a true loner, he has a team. From Alfred to Robin and Batgirl, Batman has surrounded himself with people who help him in his crime fighting. Why wouldn’t Batman be the one organizing and establishing the League? Think they did this with the Justice League movie.
Compare that with Superman who has always relied solely on himself when fighting crime or helping people. It’s hard to rely or team up with someone when you have superpowers that let you do anything. That’s why Superman never really had sidekicks or a butler to help him, no one can keep up with him, so why would he want to be with a group that would only slow him down?
It’s refreshing interpretation as the comics always had Batman being the stick in mud within the League.
Brave and the Bold and Beware say hi.
They were pretty hot.
>Second OP is a remake/homage to the Adam West OP
That doujin is the reason I gave The Batman a chance, I'm glad I did, surprisingly good show.
Why did she look like a kid despite being in college?
Harley robbing the cradle now?
Why do shopkeepers keep asking for my ID when I want to buy booze despite being in mid 20s?
Yes, it was a solid show with a nice artstyle. I liked the voice acting too
whew
>bootleg Ben 10
Pretty sure this show came out years before Ben 10. So it’s prob the other way around.
Because they're trying to stop you from a lifetime of alchoholism.
Jim Gordon forced her into gymnastics at an early age because he wanted her to win a gold medal. Those kinds of girls end up being short for life.
This is still probably my favorite incarnation of Black Mask in anything.
by god, you're right! my bad.
And the better one.
youtube.com
Ver much so.
Show actually did it's own thing instead of being BTAS. Really enjoy the fresh takes on established villains.
Even Monkey Kung Fu Joker; made for a nice change from everyone just rehashing Killing Joke or DKR.
Only real downside is Bruce's fdace looking kinda odd and the stupid tazer guns everyone is using for age rating.
All that design needed was a closed mask on the Venom Version.
Nope
Looking back on it now, she totally was. Ivy was in her late teens, and Harley was easily in her early to mid 30s.
TheBatmanFirefly>BTAS/TNBA/DCAU-Firefly
I was too hard on it back then for not being Timmverse/Timm style but it's okay
Brave and the Bold aired in primetime.
Not as good as TAS, but this is still a classic.
Too bad the Superman spinoff never happened
I did gymnastics at a young age and yet i turned out much taller than alot of my peers
Huh. Guess because I didn't stick to it. Gymnastics usually want short girls
The stories werent as deep, but the action was great and they took the characters in new directions.
There were some times where BatB aired in Saturday mornings, but yeah, it was mostly in primetime, which was weird, since its pretty blatantly a Saturday Morning cartoon.
Beware was more adult-oriented and would've done better on primetime, yet they shoved it on Saturday morning just like YJ and GL:TAS before CN baneshed it to Toonami. They didn't even give it a primetime premiere like the other DC cartoons usually get.
I honestly look back on the tie-in comics more fondly than the show itself. They actually fleshed out and did more with the minor villains the show underused just to cram in more Joker and Penguin. Hell, they actually used those two more effectively and with more fresh plots, like Joker stealing Scarface from the Ventriloquist.
Batman Adventures was also pretty strong. The Young Justice tie-ins were strictly in continuity with the show. And the Teen Titans Go comics (not THAT TTGo) outlived the show for a few years.
Not really. It was pretty middling. Worth watching but not all that memorable imo.
This. Fuckers should have kept the design for the comic.
I think they did for a Batman/Superman story. Then they ignored it after that. The only other place they still use it is in certain Lego games and toy sets.
Why would a white collar criminal end up alongside the Joker, and just how many years did he get if he went there when the Joker was a kid?
I dunno about the first one, but Joker could always be bullshitting about the second one.
I was an adult when it came out so I never saw more than a few minutes of it. Not my thing.
I think this show is what got me into comics IIRC
I'm surprised they never did an episode with Robin developing a crush on Ivy and Batgirl trying to protect him from her manipulations. It could've been a nod to her seductress role from the comics without it being creepy and there's the inherent sadness of Barbara warning someone about Pamela just like Jim did with her.
It was good, is there any good places to stream it?
DC Universe currently has it. I think it's on Netflix on other parts of the world. It used to be on the US, at least.
I was still bitter about Timmverse ending. I did my best to enjoy it, but i just couldn, even it had a good formula
thanks man.
I saw some of the episodes introducing the JL on youtube in shit quality and really wanted to see them better.
We needed to break away from the DCAU. It was never going to last forever. TT and TB received backlash so people would be more open-minded to other DC cartoons in the future.
Yeah, I like the BTAS,but for me this is what gave me the spark in hero comics and series
