Vriska thought Tavros would grow up to be that hero, she became infatuated with this image of him and her being passionate rivals and all that. She thought he just needed a little push. Just like how everyone thought Jake was going be this 'hunk' persona. Which he is, but people need to stop telling him and let him grow into it on his own.
