The first of episode of SUF focuses on Jasper and Steven because they are the only characters who have not moved on from the past or made peace with themselves yet. Anyone who picked up on the fact that they are being set up as foils, and that everything Jasper told Steven was right, and that Steven had already promised to return to see Jasper again should have been able to see where Jasper and Steven's arcs were heading. This isn't coming out of nowhere, they are both going to be helping each other with the issues around losing their identities and feelings of worthlessness that they are currently struggling with.

No, she returned because Steven wanted everyone possible to be on the wedding. Steven having his own path is the point of all of SU, not the last arc.

No, shes not. You are a bismuth fanboy (probably that bismuth from tumblr who shares leaks) who think she is more important than she actually is. She is the least interesting gem from the main team, has the least interesting things after her premiere episode and by the way you describe it, shes more of a tool to someone else than an actual character

Demonstrating he was better than his mother was only for Bismuth’s benefit. Not his own.

He risked his life because he thought Bismuth deserved it and Garnet would like it. Again, escaping his mother’s legacy was risking himself for the benefit of others, not doing so for his own ends.

First arcs were about getting his own identity. Last arc was escaping her legacy. Future is that now that he knows himself and has his freedom, where does he go from here.

She seems to be the only one that survived the war. Or given she wasn’t created on Earth, may have been the only one to join the Crystal Gems and the rest just went to the next planet with Yellow like usual.
Plus, she seems to be the chief architect and the closest there is to a community leader.

I like them all. I feel like we should have gotten more of her since she would have actually talked about the war and showed the Rebellion itself in planning and rest, as well as showing the construction of the Temple and probably the first formation of Obsidian.
