It was okay, definitely a step down from the original. It's probably because of their colors, but Blossom and Bubbles' personalities should've been switched.

The original Japanese was just a run of the mill comedic magical girl show with a Powerpuff Girls paintjob. The English dub is a dorky mess that shouldn't have ever existed.

I don't normally diss on dubs, but the dub for this is so fucking awful. I've seen 4kids dubs with better voice direction.

Craig told Toei to make the show as different from the original as possible so it could stand as it's own thing and not be confused for the original.
That's one of the main problems with the reboot they have no idea if it is an alternate universe or takes place on the same universe as the original so the writers go back and forth.

Props to Toei for actually giving a shit about a creator's request. It's not like they even HAD to honor that, Craig doesn't own PPG.

Spectacular Spiderman aired on CN in some latin american countries and Japan.

its easy to say "it wasn't that bad" now that we got the reboot to take the place of the worst PPG thing. But I watched my fair share of this back in the day and as most people have pointed out, its as bland as the most generic magical girl show with some very small flavors of PPG thrown in that don't really go that far beyond surface. To its credit it does have some original concepts here and there but you're better off either watching the original or some other better magical girl show.
The songs in the original japanese version are still catchy as shit though.
