I certainly don't understand the Hazbin hatred. Not only it was a PILOT episode, but it made good use of it's assets and I can see that a lot of work and dedication went into it.
Some say the humour is just too edgy or immature to be enjoyed. To be fair, what kind of humour do these people want? It's not like the creators just straight forced everyone to watch and like the show. I found it with my sister and it certainly surpassed my expectations and took me back, I could just sit, watch and enjoy. The design and atmosphere of the show and it's characters was quite unique and witty. I liked it. That's it. I don't know why YouTube critics act like fucking Ebert and their fandom follow their rants as gospel. You go on ahead and do something. Not worse, not better but at least stop looking like a cunt rambling about a cartoon. Jesus....

Every fandom has bad parts if you look deep in enough. The worst aspects seem to be from Yas Forums? I mean, that's a matter of shoving every person with varying tastes onto one board. People not liking those with different tastes, not liking seeing things they don't like. So you get argument between haters and fans. It's like a self feeding machine because fans react back, and then it is a loop of annoying each other.

That's not what happened at all. When clips were being uploaded, Yas Forums collectively bet themselves that "OMG THIS IS GONNA BE SUCH A DUMPSTER FIRE YOU GUYS" and establishing a pre-conceived bias. Then the pilot comes out, it's good, people like it, and the threads trying to talk about it are constantly spammed and flamed by bandwagoners. We needed a lot of threads because you kept flooding the threads with "SHUT UP VIVSHILL" "I SEE THE WHITE KNIGHTS ARE OUT IN FULL FORCE TODAY" "OMG DEVIANTART/TUMBLR/WHATEVER FUCKING BUZZWORD I FEEL LIKE USING"

I think the main reason why so many people have a chip on their shoulder regarding Viv and HH is how she acted during her zoohobia years. She almost reached dobson levels of arrogance and was generally hostile and allergic to any forms of criticism. Her fanbase were mostly teens and she would get rolled up in a lot of drama with them with no signs of growing up or moving past that behavior. When she entered artschool it was said from some of her peers that she was difficult to work with and tended to alienate people. It's hard to discern what's just good fashioned internet mudflinging, but the fact she's had entire blogs dedicated to how she burned or pissed off certain people says a lot.
When she did her die young music video piece she started to gain a lot more visibility and more discussions took place, knowing how her webcomic zoophobia went there was a lot of people split on how she'd take on a fully animated pilot. It's been the endless back and forth you're witnessing now ever since.
