How would Slenderman fit in amongst the villains in DC/Marvel?
Bump
Okay enough. His strength really varies and I don’t see him teaming up with anybody.
I'm not sure he's even intelligent enough to team up with anyone. He diverts msot of his actual thinking to servants like the Collective, and even they don't know what he truly wants most of the time.
His level of power varies, but he's generally pretty strong as a rule it should be noted.
he becomes one of pic related's bitchboys
I think he would be best fit for DC Vertigo verse. Like, villain for John Constantine or Sandman.
After the latest Year of the Villain issue? No. Lex practically had him dead to rights, and probably would've had him killed courtesy of Perpetua had he not sperged out with his hard rage.
Hell, even completely bog-standard Batman beat the shit out of him. Slendy would eviscerate him.
I could see Slendy as a foe to certain magic-or-weirdness-based characters Swamp Thing, Constantine, Pete Wisdom, Moon Knight, Shroud, Man-Thing...the Living Mummy, Gotham Monsters...
I think he'd be a problem for most of the magic users, but I can't really see him being a straight villain for them. Slendy is a force of nature that's pretty much entirely unpredictable. He'll tear through their lives or wherever they've set up shop, and the story will focus on how his presence impacts them and them picking up the pieces when he's gone, rather than trying to match blows with him.
Then they find out he's halfway across the world doing God knows what. None if what he did was him actually going after them. It was just him passing through.
I love your take on Slendy here, I'm just saddened at how overexposed he became and how shit he became because of it.
I thought slenderman was cool in 2012. He makes me cringe now, though. Rather the memories do.
He literally beat up and fucked over Nix Uotan, The Phantom Stranger and the Spectre offscreen.
He's free to do whatever he fucking wants.
Laughs wins because of his intelligence and ability to build up/acquire shit on the fly to sedate opponents or take them out. We have more than sufficient proof that direct hand-to-hand scenarios end with him eating hot shit. A non-amped Bruce beat the shit out of him to the point he was on the ground begging for him to stop.
I very much doubt he beat Nix, the Stranger or the Spectre through his own personal strength, but rather through deception and outsmarting them. Which isn't hard.
Moonknight fighting a slenderman cult
Portraying Slenderman as less a thinking being and more a chaotic disordered clusterfuck is what all the best stories do anyhow.
>I'm just saddened at how overexposed he became and how shit he became because of it.
I think it's less the simple overexposure that ended up fucking over the mythos, and more the fact that more and more idiot kids latched onto Slendy and started turning him into all kinds of stupid shit. From various crappy comics making him this "serious but nice" monster lord, to the stupid 'manor' nonsense, to having him actually talk and interact with any of the other creepypasta shit as though they were anywhere near equal (especially Jeff), and so on. All of this brought down the overall perception of Slenderman immensely, and turned him from a cosmic horror to be feared into a literal laughable joke and caricature. But he and the Mythos only really died for real with the stabbing and all the negative impact that brought.
The Fear Mythos and some of the blogs managed to hold on a little longer, but they eventually fell away due to that shit effectively killing creepypasta as a whole.
I'm personally hoping this new "Reheatedpasta" stuff at least inspires other people to at least try to bring the old stuff back in some form or another.
A Deadman villain
>But he and the Mythos only really died for real with the stabbing and all the negative impact that brought.
Can hardly blame Slenderman for a literally nutcase though. But what can you expect from people?
>Jeff
I remember reading that shit when I was 12. I wasn't impressed then, and I dont know what people still saw in it now.
>Reheatedpasta
Eh? Is that some new project?
Anyone fighting a Slenderman cult could be interesting. John Constantine as mentioned, or maybe Zatanna. Spiderman or the Avengers, even.
It's a reimagining of Creepypasta monsters in new forms. Breathing life back into old ideas, basically.
Pic related for instance is what Slendy would look like in the style of a Zdzisław Beksiński painting.
Slenderman is either street level or multiverse level depending on the interpretation. That's what loose canon will do to you.
Google doesn't really find anything creepypasta-related on that search term. It's either very new or very obscure I assume.
MY EYES.
Deadman has villains?
He would fit comfortably amongst almost anyone because he’s so slender
Got a chuckle from me.
>Slendy would eviscerate him
To the cheers of all and sundry. Then Slendy gets invited to join the JLA.
>it took nearly 5 hours for someone to make this joke
really depends on the incarnation because they're all so different.
>og something awful thread
really ambiguous, there's not much to go on except a sort of comforting trance-like state he puts those who see him in and his association with fires. it's unclear if he's able to conjure them himself or what else he's able to do aside from his sensory manipulation.
>marble hornets
honestly probably one of the weaker ones. teleportation and time dilation is good, but he mostly stands around manipulating/erasing memories and mildly influencing people. he doesn't even have full mind control powers, though defensively speaking he's very powerful aside from his weakness to tim's medicine.
>everymanhybrid
actively out for blood now. can't be harmed by conventional means but inflicts real harm and does kill several people on top of the extreme teleportation and time manipulation seen in marble hornets, on top of real mind control and universe altering capabilities. nothing actually ends up stopping him in this series, he just sort of stops showing up.
>tribetwelve
all of the above with some added bonuses. changes his morphology to that of a giant spider, imbues his subjects with his own power, while maintaining full control over the vast network they consist of, and he can even control them after they've died and give them some influence over reality. couple that with his own pocket dimension inside our own that he has complete control over with non-eudclidian geometry and if it wasn't for whatever is in the journal, i'd say he's downright unstoppable.
>tfw Slenderman finds Billy Batson
Oh no
Everyman, Tribe and Hornets (to a lesser degree) are pretty much all connected from what I recall.
they are except marble hornets which is standalone, but even in their own series, despite being connected, slenderman will act completely differently or even have different rules. you'll never see him flare up his tentacles in everymanhybrid even though it's a staple in tribetwelve.
Not a great many pedophiles in either DC or Marvel lore. Nevermind the inconsistencies in powerlevel, Slenderman's tone is all wrong for the settings.
I don't think Slendy ever diddled kids or anything. Unless you attach sexual connotations to turning them into Proxies. He mostly tended towards skewering them on tree branches, or calmly and patiently removing all their internal organs, putting them in a plastic-like residue, and then placing them back inside in order.
>no mini about Moon Knight getting stalked by Slenderman and having a mental breakdown over if the damn thing is real or if his another of his usual psychological issues or Khonshu's shenanigans.
His behavior shifts no matter the story, even if they're all explicitly set in the same multiverse. The best theorized explanation is simply that he's a chaotic mess and doesn't hold hard to one definite set of behaviors.
you could interpret it as each incarnation is using whatever means are at his disposal to best intimidate or manipulate his target in that particular series. either way i see it as a way to let each individual creator interpret him however they want which gives for nice creative freedom.
>PEDOPHILIA IS THE ONLY BAD THING ADULT CAN DO TO A KID HURRR I'M RETARDED
Is there a good playlist for Everyman Hybrid? I remember getting burnt out because stuff got spread over multiple YouTube channels and Reddit threads but I'd like to rewatch it.
>I'm THIS CLOSE to finding hi- finding IT.
youtube.com
this one is pretty good, though there's still some materials like stephanie's blog or the twitter that don't get video coverage. for that i'd say watch the big explained series by night mind to fill in all the gaps, though the last video in that series is more of a big play by play recap than an attempt at explaining what's happening. he kind of dropped the ball there.
It's debatable if he's even aware of his own powers or not, or if he's even manipulating people consciously. He's really only questionably sentient.
Much appreciated, mate.
Phantom Stranger going full Slenderman conspiracy theorist sounds like a fun story.
*don't know why I put Stranger there when I meant the Question. Fuck I'm tired.*
Goku is stronger
shit i'd pay to read a short run with the Question teaming up with Constantine to hunt down Slenderman
>Yas Forumstard trying to start up shit with horrorchads
Go back to your usual containment threads, DBfag. You don't want to go down this rabbit hole.
Goku isn't safe ...in his dreams
Goku's mind is so fucking basic that I'm not even sure what Freddy could use to fuck him over there.
lol imagine thinking slenderfag or KEKddy have a chance against AUTOMATIC DODGE MODE
you can't dream dodge
Slendy could literally just delete the multiverse and Goku with it. Can't dodge shit if you don't exist.
bump
Don't bother replying.
>attacking goku in his dreams instead of punching him
see shit like this makes you realize that there are still tons of ways to make dragon ball interesting but if toriyama wrote this goku would just scream really really loud until his power will destroy freddy somehow
>delete
goku has resisted shit like that before
hell he can even do it himself
A child follows a bouncing ball onto a street, and the screech of tires that follows is thankfully unnecessary, as a streak of red and blue has the boy and ball safely on the playingfield. Taking a moment to check the panicked driver is alright, Superman returns to console the crying child and his concerned friends.
It is only when he finally turns upward again, feet leaving the ground does he see a too-tall businessman watching from afar. A normal man might have missed the faceless being, or assumed a more pedestrian explanation, but the man of steel's vision is unmatched, and all that screams 'wrong' with the being is laid bare.
His cape flares out as he turns quickly, both fists forward as he beelines for the being.
>What happens next?
I don't know if he even counts as a villain. Slenderman seems closer to being a force of nature than anything resembling a person.
>Slenderman
Is this 2008?
Slenderman dodges and glitches in bad SFX then disappears the next second and just sends some random lame proxy to fight Superman
This is the most canonical outcome
Fuck forget retreading old ground, I'd read the shit out of a Beksinskiverse series.
While someone else beat me to the punch about Vertigo, this is why I think Slendy would fit best as a Doom Patrol antagonist.

Another heart virus?
he would be a good villain for the Teen Titans.
