I appreciate this one but it'll always bug me it chose to use a fan art Frida when all the others had screencaps for everything. Good on them for matching the style, though

we shake our heads and "tut tut" every year at the business decisions of tot and ankama, sadly nothing much changes and it seems like things get a little worse for them. I believe they were a little too ambitious with their multimedia franchises, and i think this lull in activity could perhaps be some kind of corporate restructuring. I still hold hope that they can come back from this slump.

I was listening a french dev podcast the other day and it was pretty damning for Ankama. Basically game projects could only progress when Tot was busy on the cartoons, and as soon as the failure of aid cartoons became eveident he came back and derailed project after project because they'd dared do stuff with out him, and so basically all talented people left and/or became freelancers like Xa just so they wouldn't have to deal with that bullshit. What's more, while everyone is familiar with the financial disaster that was the Dofus movie, something that may be less apparent is that the Wakfu and Dofus series were money-burning pits too. Wakfu in particular was supposed to be made profitable through the game (that only came out years later and was never good) and then the toys for S2 (that also came out too late and weren't good either).

The lull in activity is because they're trying to work hard on Dofus Unity and they're starting to face the reality that Waven's gonna be a bust and the existing Dofus is gonna be killed by flash's obsolescence.

There is restructuring happening, but it's mostly Media Participations (the big media group owning part of Ankama since Dofus Book 1's failure) gutting Ankama for parts, like how they turned Ankama Animation's rotting corpse into Madlab's rotting living body.

But that would not extract revenge on those who wronged her

Konami's just had one of its best financial years while Ankama never had any successful product except Dofus so no. If they were the french Konami they'd be rolling in money.

This is how you know a waifu is top tier. Most get forgotten pretty quick.

Konami having one of its best financial years came after years of multiple failed attempts at getting into the gambling market and Satoshi being an absolute lunatic. Hopefully Ankama gets a good year too.
