Holy fuck, watching Kipo is a fresh breath of air for a cartoon. Its made me realize how fucking lacking so many series are on the music front.
Hell, most cartoons dont even HAVE music. Just generic background jingles. Kipo throws actual songs in for action scenes, or dramatic scenes and its great.
Omg when it peter was the eye he said hey sandy it pulled up Siri??
Ryan Reed
Couldn't agree more OP, the show has a great atmosphere in general and the music is a big part of that. I love Kipo the show and the character and I really hope it continues.
>Kipo gives us a canon hetero protagonist, but the only great ship involving her is with a girl >She-Ra gives us a canon lesbian protagonist, but the most popular ship involving her is toxic and should absolutely not be canon, meanwhile all the hetero ships are kino >Kipo's catgirl is pure wholesome and kindness >She-Ra's catgirl is pure damage and toxicity It's like poetry, they rhyme.
Dominic Green
I don't get the image. Is this supposed to be a flat chested joke?
Easton Smith
The key difference is that Noelle is a novice and Bill Wolkoff is a battle-hardened professional. Experience is king.
Juan Allen
Yes. The lose shirt is supposedly hiding her figure but she doesn't have one. Kipo is perfect just the way she is though.
Its a recent twitter/tiktok thot meme. Chicks wear huge oversized T-shirts, and then pull the back of the shirt tight to reveal their amazing tits/hips/everything.
Andrew Richardson
holy shit please post more lewd kipo art please oh my god please do it please oh fuck
Liam Gray
Kipo cute!
What's up with the marketing anyway? Or more accurately, the lack of it? Also, merch when? I need a timber cat plushie. And an umlaut snake plushie. And a megabunny plushie. But most of all I need a retro casette player like Benson has with the ost of the show.
Eli Nguyen
Netflix is shit at marketing and will post trailers a week before a new season comes out.
Benjamin Gomez
>Kipo throws actual songs in for action scenes, or dramatic scenes and its great. It does? I'll give it a look then. A great soundtrack sure helps keep things exciting and memorable. youtube.com/watch?v=XI0RnEJpWjw

>What's up with the marketing anyway? Or more accurately, the lack of it? You gotta be at the right place: instagram.com/p/B7tvCxbptz4/
Any character could be anything if you go of the logic of what we HAVEN'T seen or had spelt out. But what we HAVE seen so far is that Kipo is a girl who is attracted to boys. It's fine to imagine her as anything else if that's what you like, but that would just be headcanon.
They had a big ass banner at C2E2. It's not much, but it's more than I expected for a relatively obscure show like it.
Aiden Ortiz
You're basing this on the twitter tweets aren't you?
Grayson Lewis
I love Kipo, but I'm not as gung-ho about the music. I do like it, but I had to turn the volume down a few times through season one, particularly for the big chase sequence in the second episode and then again for the megadogs at the end. Everything just turned into a music video for a while there. I also feel like the Newton rap dragged on when I was more interested in the story.
Jace Sullivan
>one character is better than the other because they're a better person >a ship is better if there's less internal conflict to it That's not how it works.
Angel Jackson
Won't her nips be showing?
Bentley Nguyen
The character changes were idiotic and the typical garbage you'd expect from netflix, but looking past the forced trash the show itself was enjoyable.
Jaxson Rodriguez
You really need to watch more stuff if this is the kind of insert music that does it for you
Kevin Cox
Why does she look like a boy?
Jaxson Bennett
Because you're blind
Jace Gomez
user, Catradora realistically would never survive S1E11 and S3E6.
Chase Gutierrez
I hardly consider them changes when the source material was barely developed to begin with.
Christian Perry
Which cartoons do a better job of using lots of music to improve a scene? Only one i can think of is maybe metlocolypse.
Elijah Moore
Motorcity is pretty fucking great
Leo Howard
Motorcity's music was boring and repetitive. It was just the same metal rifts over and over. Ironincally, it was the MTV shows like Downtown, Daria and Undergrads that knew how to integrate licensed music into their scenes well.
Mason Young
i know it's anime and i'm a weebfag but FLCL improves so much every scene with it's music that without the tunes it'd feel like a totally different thing
Because shes a tall skinny beanpole girl thats only 12 years old.
Jonathan Price
FLCL would have been generic weird anime #19803921038214682 without The Pillows music.
Asher Stewart
Absolutely though not exactly generic because GAINAX
Gabriel Hall
the show was good not great but good, the soundtrack is the best part about it
Ian Miller
Why does internal conflict make for a better ship? Who looks at a real life couple that fights all the time and thinks "Relationship goals"? The mind of a shipfag is truly baffling.
Robert Ramirez
I appreciate what the show is trying to do with its music choices but I don’t think they are mixed in well. As in the editing of the songs could use some work, sometimes they end abruptly or are used for such short snippets they feel disruptive. I just get the impression that the person putting together the audio isn’t yet very experienced with mixing music into scenes but I appreciate the effort and think they could improve. It definitely helps set Kipo apart.
Leo Lee
I'll take generic music over a bunch of shitty hip-hop.
Henry Robinson
Kipo was scientifically engineered to make people hard. Those shoulders don’t lie
>shitty hip-hop U wot m8? Do you even watch the show? Kipo's music is a whole fucking blend of genres
Jason Cook
It's probably the same guy who always complains about white genocide.
Jace Torres
There's a few meme songs from 50 year ago, but 90% is hip-hop.
Camden White
Ayo, why this nigga pink?
Robert Cruz
If you haven't watched the show but don't care about spoilers because she's actually a human-mutant hybrid.
Christian Wright
Meta answer is that in the webcomic the cartoon is based on all the human characters had colorful skin tones as part of the art style. Netflix wanted normal skin tones, but kipo was kept pink to maintain her appearence from the comic.
Ryder Peterson
>but kipo was kept pink to maintain her appearence from the comic. It was more to have it as allusion to her part mute status.
Alexander Cruz
It is both, to keep her original look while at the same time alluding to the spoilers.
