Another look at Spongebob's Kamp Koral designs

What do you think?
Not sure if this is from the actual show or the Kamp section of the movie but still thought you'd like to see it

dat krabs

>even Sandy
Okay, then.

Even Plankton

Hard pass, not a fan of baby versions of shows.

Damn the cleavage on Krabs
I want to defloweryoung squidward

Wait a minute, Krabs is a good decades older than Spongebob
Also, why the fuck is Sandy there?

Wasn't Muppet Babies decent?

barely

>the first movie explicitly acknowledges the obvious age gap between Spongebob, Squidward and Mr.Krabs
>Spongebob and Krab's Drivers License further confirm this
>Sandy recently started living in Bikini Bottom during her introduction episode and met the cast for the first time
> Plankton and Krabs were Childhood friends

I guess we're just going to throw this all out the window, huh? Even with the 90's flashback Simpsons episode you get make the argument that the show was following a sliding timeline. But this is just retconning the lifework of a dead man for a spinoff he fought against

Who has the "2D is too hard " screencap

I'm guessing Mr Krabs is a Camp Councillor or some shit. Which doesn't fix anything because I'm pretty sure he opened the KK after the war.

>Creator hates spin-offs
>Wait until he dies
>Start developing generic babies spin-off before the body is even cold
Epic move, Nick

The fact that Squidward is happy is the biggest sin here

>this is just retconning the lifework of a dead man for a spinoff he fought against
It's weird how people are aware of it but Nick won't give a shit. Not even his family seems to be doing something about how they're disrespecting Stephen's wishes regarding this.
I bet that, as long as there's money involved, they don't care.

It really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Otherwise I'd maybe want to see this movie, but I dunno, I feel like this is kind of a disrespectful move so soon after his death. They could've at least waited a few years.

Look dude, the person who made the show is fucking dead and corporate wants the characters as babies to sell merch. Krabs and Sandy are significant main characters of the show, so it doesn't matter that it makes no sense with the canon the show already provided they are being made into kids

But both Sandy and Plankton’s first episodes had them meeting Spongebob for the first time. This is such a transparent money grab, I hate how guardians of the galaxy and the mandalorian made executives make baby/ kid versions of established characters again.

Holy shit this is awful

Is it gonna be a 3d show?

Should've done what Clifford did and introduce a different cast
I mean, you're not gonna stick with the people you met in childhood anyways

>Sandy
>significant main characters
I always got the feeling both the writers and Nick give very little shits about her

She's still nominally a main character.

Now, if they added Karen...

She’s the Meg Griffin of SpongeBob.

It always baffles me how they ignore the actual context of guardians of the galaxy and the mandalorian, when it came to baby characters.

Like seriously, "Baby Yoda" wasn't even actually the infant version of Yoda but was actually a completely unrelated member of Yoda's species. If that was baby Yoda, then the Mandalorian wouldn't be a thing in the first place considering that the events of Mandalorian happened way much later on after Yoda was even born.

And "Baby" Groot wasn't even a baby in the first place, considering that it was just "born" from one of Groot's surviving pieces when he sacrificed himself to protect his friends. And he was a plant-like alien to boot.

He’s just a kid user. Not jaded by the world yet

What the fuck are you even talking about

Attached: wrgr.jpg (553x665, 47.74K)

>Not being jaded by the world even as a kid

i'm pretty sure krabs is actually older than the rest of them in this

Why do they need this. Spongebob already prints money and won't end til the end of time so why milk a spin off.

user you forget one of the most important thing about advertising and making money. There is power in the "New". People like new, no matter what it is. New turns heads, at least for a short time, and executives don't care if its the death of the brand as long as they get their squirt of money from the new.

Attached: external-content.duckduckgo-2.jpg (800x450, 44.48K)

Yeah but Krabs is old enough to have served in "the war"

>including Sandy
Oh for fucks sake

I hope this flops hard and kills spongebob once and for all.

It's creepy how no one tried to stop this.
Even Vincent got mad and insisted that Stephen would be cool with it, which is bullshit. Like the guy had a gun to his head.

Attached: vi.png (611x719, 85.68K)

Way to damage the brand.
>Squidward lived in Bikini Bottom years before Spongebob
>Mr. Krabs used to be in the Navy before making the Krusty Krab franchise
>Patrick was a permanent resident.
>Spongebob moved to Bikini Bottom in the first season.
>Sandy is the newest member who came from the surface to do biomarine research
This and the Squidward spin-off is non-canon, especially outside of the creator's involvement.

Kill me please

So are they retconning when Spongebob canonically first met Sandy in the second episode?

Viacom will do whatever gets money; they're probably the most notoriously soulless of the big media companies about this kind of stuff.

The fist might happen, the second will never happen and shouldn't really happen

It's more likely he's going to be the Camp Chef

That just makes it worse

The post-movie writers sure didn't (but the current year, you need now more than ever a female character)

Insurance in case anything happens to Tom, Bill or Roger

They'll even make her the love interest.

I feel that's the one thing Vincent won't allow.

>Wasn't Muppet Babies decent?
It had its charms, but a lot of that stemmed from its access to a ton of the Lucasfilm archive. Show had both Star Wars and Indiana Jones parodies.

>Sandy being a love interest was the original plan.
Makes sense, watch "Tea at the Treedome" again if you can. It definitely implied SB liked her, "Ripped Pants" as well, desu.

Sterilized corporate garbage.

They still imply it in games and merch, so I have no clue where they're going with it

>Squidward spin-off

When was this?

This looks very much soulless. Stephen Hillenburg was against the idea of SpongeBob spinoffs but now that he's dead they're going ahead with this bullcrap to earn more money. Feels very disrespectful to his memory and screams of being nothing more than a cynical corporate-mandated cash grab. It's just disgraceful, SpongeBob and Stephen deserve better than this.

Attached: i3ng6b1n10f21-1.jpg (546x474, 49.52K)

A spin-off was in Stephen’s no’s, look what they’re fucking doing.

Could it get possibly any worse for Spongebob at this point? The creator is dead, it will be renewed again with new seasons and now this toddler crap. How much longer until people get tired and Nick finally decides to stop milking the franchise and let it die?

Attached: 1583879425600.jpg (567x531, 53.74K)

A dead creator won't stop a franchise if it's popular.
Shin Chan's creator died back in 2011 and it's still going without him.

Stupid anons. Not just this guy all of you. Steve said no to an ADULT spinoff/version of Spongebob, not a GENERAL spinoff.

user, he was annoyed enough when Nick wanted to put Spongebob in school. He didn't want SB to be a school kid, or a kid in general.

I think Steve approved of Kamp Koral and the new movie though, within his final weeks of working on the show.

The upcoming movie had a completely different plot at first, though. With space cats or some shit.

>Spongebob Babies/Kids
For fucks sake, I thought we had moved past this shit.

Within first drafts, but they changed it.

Remember the movie has been in development for quite a while.

i think my post got removed, but the plot changed rather early in development

>spongebob babies
Thank you, Viacom executives for your endless innovation

Nick in general is like this, according to Butch Hartman, Nick doesn't like any show where the main characters is an adult and prefers if they are a child/teen or an animal. Usually they retool it, like how they retooled his Crash Nebula pilot, as Crash was going to retain his older design like in FOP and what they tried to do with Spongebob at first.
