Why does Marvel not have its own trinity?

Why does Marvel not have its own trinity?

What do you think Cap, Thor and Iron Man are

Who the fuck are those jobbers? Everyone knows Marvel is Spider-Man, Wolverine, and The Incredible Hulk.

It's actually Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America

This.

It has the triumvirate

Attached: Carol Steve Tony.png (576x402, 431.52K)

Because they don’t need one

As you can see no one can decide between them but in universe it’s captain America iron man and Thor but in terms of sales or recognizability it used to be spidey hulk and wolverine. Though presumably that’s changed

spidey is definitely up there because the first 3 dudes people think when they hear superhero are Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man.

the trinity is Cap, Thor, Tony.

It's Hyperion, Zarda and Nighthawk

It's Cap, Cap, Tony

Agreed.
Check the merchandising from the last fifty years.

Why does a company need a "trinity"? That just seems arbitrary.

Any list without Spider-man and Wolverine are just wrong.

Trios are always loved

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America

Feel free to swap out any of them with Spider-Man, but that's the current line-up.

Nobody cares about Carol and no one ever will.

Nice try.

>Why does Marvel not have its own trinity?
Because the Trinity is based on a historic fact that these three characters have constant runs of comics that go back to the Golden Age. Marvel doesn't have that and frankly doesn't need it.

I don't remember any of those fellows having his own trash can-
Or TV show.

Attached: merchandise.jpg (388x500, 46.22K)

Nah, it's Captain Marvel, Captain America and Iron Man

Attached: cst.jpg (586x979, 194.03K)

While I can see why that's special for DC, I don't really feel like Marvel is disadvantaged or anything by the fact that we're unable to pick out its three most important characters.

Captain America had two mediocre as hell movies back in the 80s/90s, Thor had an appearance in the Hulk TV show, and they've all been featured in various video games since the NES and arcade systems from beat 'em ups to side-scrolling action games.

Actually its not.

No, just their own movies

The trinity are only the trinity because they were in continual print from the GA onwards. Marvel doesn't have a trio like that.

Sorry, I meant their own profitable movies.

It's a good thing for Marvel because it doesn't set some sort of really forced metanarrative that a certain character must absolutely exist or there is no universe like Superman or Batman is for DC. Unless there's some Spiderforce that I've missed in the past decade, I don't really follow Spider-Man that much.

>just their own movies
Which would have never happened if Marvel didn't mortgage Spidey and Hulk to float the boat.

Attached: merchandise2.png (375x500, 525.68K)

Not that guy, but what does it matter? People still like Hulk, it's just that Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor got people really hyped for the last decade.

Marvel dies forty years ago without Spider Man and Hulk.
That's all.

...and to be sure,
This fellow was absolutely correct: Wolverine jumped-in to save the day in the 80's.
Not really going to cater to movie-fags much tonight.

It's not the 80s anymore, grandpa.

Time flows in a linear pattern, moron and faggot.

Spider-Man, X-Men, the Avengers.

Marvel is selling Iron Man gear, Cap's shield and Thor's hammers/movie axe for hundreds of dollars but Hulk has trash cans!

Because Marvel doesn't care about their characters as much as DC does and they're not loyal to their franchises.

If Supes was Marvel, he would've been killed off and forgotten long ago because 'kids don't like this stuff nowadays'.

I mean Marvel tried to erase X-Men and FF because of movie drama, and Spider-man wasn't much better.

By rights, it should be Namor, Human Torch and Captain America.

Failing that it should be Spiderman, Hulk and maybe Cap.

Only trinity out there is the Avengers one, Cap, Thor and Iron Man.

In terms of popularity, it changes. Used to be Spidey, Wolverine and Hulk. Now it's Spiderman, Iron Man and Cap.

Marvel doesn't have a main female hero because all their truly best heroines are X-Men or tied to franchises they didn't have the movie rights for. That's why they resorted to scraping the bottom of the barrel and tried to put Carol up there, but it didn't take and it never will. Rogue should be Marvel lady #1 by rights.

>3 dead comics franchises
If only!

Hello!

Attached: 51b-FVYSNEL._AC_SY400_.jpg (258x400, 33.59K)

It's still not the 80s, all this talk of what was the 'thing' 40 years ago doesn't matter now.

Who even is the biggest Marvel heroine? The main public knows about Wonder Woman but who do they know in Marvel that's a woman before they tried shoving Carol down everyone's throat?

Storm, I guess?

Image has Spawn, Savage Dragon and Witchblade

Dark Horse has Hellboy, Alien and Predator

Avatar Press has... Crossed and....

Dynamite has...Vampirella, Red Sonja and...

Superman = Thor

Batman = Nick Fury

WonderWoman = Storm

Marvel has a Big Three families.
Avengers
X-Men
Spider-Man

Which is more profitable than just a Big Three characters.

Because they already have their own quaternity.

fucking lmao

>not have its own
MARBLE EZ

E

>Who even is the biggest Marvel heroine
The biggest heroine in the world, the biggest hero period, Carol Susan Jane Danvers, Captain Marvel

Attached: best of the best.jpg (910x1378, 279.13K)

And what are you going to use more on a daily basis?

Sue Richards or any female member of the X-men.

>and Spider-man wasn't much better.
Could you explain your bullshit?

not the same important level.

The Trinity used to be Batman, Robin and Superman.

>Spider-Man, Wolverine, and The Incredible Hulk.
Correct.

They tried and then lost interest.

Attached: 51E7eA-HFWL._SX327_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg (329x499, 40.08K)

That's the World's Finest, the Trinity has always been about Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman

Attached: fantastic-four-comic-2.jpg (1862x2953, 1.3M)

I think if you go elderly trinity, it would be Cap, Thor and IronMan.
But if you gor for younger audiences and popularity it would be Spider-Man, Wolverine and Hulk.

>WW famous
Captain Marvel is more successfull than her lmao

>DC cares about their characters more than Marvel
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

It has always been a fan thing.
DC decided to market it, the other brands didn't.

It always amuses me how deluded the DCucks really are. No wonder they are the joke of this board.

What is even a Trinity?
What is the point of it?
This is just:
Character who made us lots of money in the WW2-post WW2 era
Character has been making us lots of money for the last few decades
A female character who's been the token female on the most teams and sold middlingly for ages.
She might even be the "best known" female hero in boys comic books, but that amounts to nothing really.
