Why is Amity the cutest?
The Owl House
Still waiting on a show where the "mean girl" is the protagonist, rather than a supporting character.
I wish she'd dye that poop stain in her hair
Amity isn't really that, least in the usual sense. More of a overachiever type.
Anyway, what kind of show would that be?
>Create your typical "mean girl who gets redeemed by the power of friendship" character
>Redeem her in like six episodes
What did they mean by this?
I guess they have other plans for her. I wouldn't call her redeemed just yet, but it seems clear that Luz and her would have a complex relationship.
I love TTG too.
Rather, she never was meant to be the mean girl, just a girl who is pressured by society to be mean. And since that is the case, there is no need to drag this "reveal" out over 60 episodes, but rather let the viewer know early on and then deal with this character arc from the beginning
Amphibia. Anne is a vapid bully cunt
They have no plans for her. Different storyboarders are just making this shit up as they go along.
I love domina girls. I wish she would reverse rape me with her magic.
Thats bullshit. Who pressured her to stop being friends with Willow because she was a late bloomer with magic? Who pressured her into picking on Willlow for being a fat failure when no one else was watching? Dont make up headcanon to excuse shitty writing.
Imagine forgetting how to breathe
Owl House is script-driven.
it's very simple really
She's getting awfully submissive.
Yellow eyes > Purple eyes.
I see, yeah. They should have done the reveal even earlier, because there are retards like you who can't pick up on the foreshadowing even now.
Go rewatch the library episode actually listen to what she says
>Natural green
C'mon, just look at her roots... Unless you're saying she dyes her pubes, which could be hot.
Mega when?
Prove it
What she said in the library episode only accounted for her rudeness to Luz. Nothing about that excuses her being a cunt to Willow.
why are owlhousefags get so smug when call out the show weak writting?
god i wish that were me
The only thing we know about them relationship is from Willow point of view, her could easily just think Amity stopped being her friend because of her being a halfwitch, when this is not the case.
>Prove it
Owl House has separate story, teleplay, and storyboarding credits for each episode. This means that we have a group of writers coming up with a story, which is later given to a smaller group of writers to flesh out into a script, which is then storyboarded by the artists. In short, the script-driven method that most shows at DTVA are produced with. (Okay, it's more common to see just "written by" instead of that being further divided into separate story and teleplay credits, but I'm not here to completely breakdown the entire process of writing for a television series. Just know that important thing is that the writing and drawing are being listed as separate jobs.)
This is in contrast to a storyboard-driven method, wherein a group of writers come up with a story and write an outline, which is then given to a team of storyboard artists to flesh out into the episode proper. Most series have this is denoted by a combined "written and storyboarded" credit for each episode, with the writers wrote the initial episode outlines getting a "story by" credit for the episode or being listed as "story editors" in the end credits. You can see the first "story by" format in the few DTVA shows that use the method, like PnF and SvtFoE, and the second "story editor" format in CN Studios series like Steven Universe. You occasionally have exceptions like Spongebob, which list writing and storyboarding separately, even if both credits list the exact same people.
>aha, you said there are exceptions!
Right, which is why it's good to have extra confirmation in the show's production staff itself, with storyboarders putting their work on the series down as drawing "script-driven boards." Plus, it's a 22-minute show, and as a general rule, you don't do 22-minute shows using the storyboard-driven method because regularly making episodes of that length with the method is just really annoying to do.
TL;DR: The credits and the crew themselves say so.
(Me)
This isn't a defense of the show's middling writing, by the way. I just want it clear that there are actual writers who deserve the blame here. The storyboarders are just drawing what they're told.
maybe she does dye, or maybe the brown roots is a genetic thing (I don't know hair science) and they'll eventually turn green
I just realized Willow still has her good student star and since she changed skill class she won't ever get it back. What will she do bros?
>Amity pedos become the worst part of the fanbase
who woulda thunk
Didnt read most your post but Ill assume youre right. What a shame its actually scripted but still so shitty and contradicts itself every other episode. Yikes!
SUSSAETEEEH!!!
that's rape.
Every person who discusses this show is falling for Disney's millions of advertising that hurts other shows they fuck over
If you cared about cartoons you would not be active in these threads outside saying the show sucks and they need to be removed
Amity should be Luz only friend in the boilling island.
forget willow and gus
Don't pretend like we'd talk more about shows like It's Pony or Duncanville if we pulled back on Owl House discussion. The catalog is like 40% Steven Universe anyway.
>you will never be bullied by schoolgirl Eda
this user is right, and between the hornyfags and the people discussing the problems with the show theres is alot to talk about
aids really fucked her life, she looks 40 years older than her sister
unpopular opinion, Eda is not hot, at all
I want one episode to end with Amity pecking a quick kiss on Luz's lips and running away while Luz stands there stunned
Because you love Merula Snyde but don’t want to admit it.
did anons build up high expectations for the show when it leaked? i can see a lot of the criticisms but always have fun with each episode since i don't think i really developed any particularly high expectations initially. hell i only thought of the VLD ending as being mediocre rather than a total trainwreck since i never got very emotionally invested and just saw it as dumb fun that looked pretty with the Studio Mir style
She also fucks old toadz
She's like a Pacifica without the sharp edges. Simp bait.
Shit taste
People want every cartoon to be the next Gravity Falls/ATLA/or whatever.
>did anons build up high expectations for the show when it leaked?
People thought it was going to be the spiritual successor to gravity falls, which they have already nostalgia'd even though only a few years have gone by, forgetting everything that was wrong with it and only remembering the good.
It is pretty unfortunate that it just kinda got botched in the end, I guess anons really just have rose tinted memories of just season 1 and cling onto that version of GF
Bully power struggle when? I know Boscha is gonna push her out.
actually i was mostly talking about season 1. It's a REALLY average cartoon if you take your nostalgia goggles off.
i didn't like Gravity Falls and I like The Owl House a lot tho
I didnt even heard about the show before it aired, I got in expecting nohing nd the cliched story tunrned me off
exactly, you were not tainted by the nostalgia and false (made up) promise of the next gravity falls.
I love all the characters minus that plant girl. She seems like an unnecessary addition, since mirror boy already fills the role as the chipper friend.
why do people hate "cliché" stories so much?
she is here for the 3-members relationship with Amity and Luz
Can't speak for anyone else, but I when I heard "horror comedy", I was hoping for something that really played into and delved into fantasy horror. There are definitely moments here and there that touch upon the atmosphere I thought the show would have, but it's mostly underwhelming in that regard. The first pieces of footage we got were actually when I started losing hope that Owl House would be a new favourite. Plus, for all the jokes made about Disney clearly wanting this to be their new Gravity Falls, I think a lot of us were un-ironically hoping the same.
We also got a bit cheated on the character dynamics beyond all of that, since Luz, Eda, and King don't spend nearly as much time together as you'd assume from all the ads and promotional material. For all intents and purposes, the show wouldn't be much different if Luz got enrolled in magic school and simply lived with Eda.
Her siblings have green hair too.
Which means she naturally has heterochromia on her hair or dyes her hair brown.
I hope the magic system gets a just a bit more complex, just drawing a circle and tapping on it is not working for me, also Luz learning magic on her own is sour spot on the show for me, I tought Luz working hard and learning the old way witches used to magic would be an entire arc, not exmachina glitch on her phone in the same episode
or one of her parents has brown hair, so she got the brown of that parent, while the twins got it from the other part of the family.
We already saw that she had brown hair when she was younger
my biggest disappointement so far is when I leraned there was an episode about "bodyswap", then I tried to not get spoiled more
in my head I was sure it was going to be a bodyswap between Luz and Amity, which was the best thing that could happen, but when I actually watched the episode it didn't involve Amity at all T.T
I was so freaking sad
I never assumed that Luz and Eda would be most of the time together from the promo, so I don't think it's a problem
God Hand Eda when?

Good horror comedy toons for kids died in the 2000s. Nothing's gonna top the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, unfortunately.
