Ok, good.
Adventure Time was good for Adam Muto anyway

>:01
That's a vagina.

>420

I don't know if I like this or hate this

I can see One Million Moms protesting this over having “Gospel” in the title.

eehh it doesn't look that good but I guess I'll give it a chance when it comes out

More details

>Unlike Adventure Time, The Midnight Gospel definitely isn't kid-friendly, judging by the psychedelic, blood-splattered trailer - but its fantastical, post-apocalyptic settings and dreamy animation certainly evoke the style of Ward's fan-favorite Cartoon Network series, mixed with a dash of Rick and Morty's high-concept, universe-hopping anarchy. The series is animated by Titmouse, the studio behind a number of hit animated shows, shorts, and cinematics, including Netflix's Big Mouth and Adult Swim's Venture Bros.

>Below, co-creator Trussell explains the genesis of the series and the surreal plot of The Midnight Gospel - needless to say, we're intrigued.

>"Years ago I got an email from Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time, telling me he enjoyed my podcast The Duncan Trussell Family Hour. We soon became friends and Pendleton eventually came to me with an idea of how to do an animated version of my podcast. He said: 'It’s like we replace the dialogue of Indiana Jones with podcast conversations.' This was the beginning of The Midnight Gospel, a show about Clancy, a slacker 'space-caster' who lives in another dimension called 'The Chromatic Ribbon.' This is a place where simulation farmers use powerful bio-computers to simulate universes where they harvest technology. Because Clancy isn't taking care of his universe simulator, all the planets within it are going through their own unique apocalypse, and the beings living in these other worlds are the guests Clancy interviews for his Space-Cast 'The Midnight Gospel.' Over the course of the series, these conversations slowly begin to awaken Clancy to the reality of the impact he’s having on the worlds, both inside and outside of his simulator."

>WHOA CARTOONS BUT SWEARING

Fuck Netflix

Whatever happened to Bravest Warriors?

finally an authentic stoner toon
room for pen to be creative without trying too hard with a convoluted narrative (hopefully)

Nelvana was in charge of the final season. The less anyone talks about it, the better.

It had 82 episodes, the last season of which was a tweened rush job made by a different crew in Canada.
Ward never had anything to do with it after the pilot

Reminds me of ant colony for some reason.

this really looks like "DUDE YOU MUST BE TOTALLY HIGH WHEN YOU WATCH THIS" shit

Well this is something I haven't though about in a long time.

Is he gonna abandon this show to let the protag get fucked over by progressives like he did with Adventure Time?

this guy worked on AT i think

there's gonna be a lot of twink porn of this guy

Looks even shittier than bravest warriors

so how long until it turns into garbage and the main charecter is sidlined like his last two shows?

>4/20
Toooo easy

Based Titmouse giving us awesome animation

reminds me of this.

Honestly thought the MC was a topless chick, hearing a dudes voice come out from that design was very surprising.

So, when are we getting the crossover with Twelve Forever

>82 episodes

Jeez, one of those shows that went way longer than you thought

Groan. I was kind of interested in this when I first heard about it but this trailer has significantly reduced my interest.

Maybe this wouldn't happen if he actually ran his damn shows instead of offshoring them to numale sois

I'll give it a shot, the animation is trippy and I could use trippy animation in my life

Looks like a shit imitation of Yuasa's work.

Really? What were you expecting after that original announcement? The Midnight Gospel's description made it sound like a psychedelic animated podcast, which is exactly the vibe I'm getting from this teaser.

I was going to say it's a coincidence, but then they started swearing. I was not expecting this to be an edgy adult cartoon, but I haven't been following it closely.
I'll definitely check it out.

Reminder that /ourguy/ Jesse Moynihan is art directing: instagram.com/p/B6ThzYVp98A/

probably going to be the only worthwhile thing this yields

I don’t really have any strong feelings at the moment, but it’s cool that Netflix is allowing Pen to experiment a lot more, especially with an adult cartoon.

Pen Ward isn’t like Alex Hirsch—he’s more of an artsy guy with weird but creative ideas rather than a more conventional “show business” type of guy who can be brought along to make most projects feel more mainstream and approachable—but I like his short animations from the early ‘10s, and this show looks to be just as interesting.

Michael DeForge, yeah he worked on AT for years. I'd love to see him, Moynihan and Alden on Ward's new show.

Oh sweet! Moynihan's brilliant, I bet he did a fantastic job as art director. Really looking forward to the show now

cool visuals, everything else left a bit to be desired

It's an 8 episode mini series
Noice

Andy Ristaino's also confirmed to be involved

this looks and sounds like something explicitly made to be heard by someone who is on hallucinogenics
like I can hear the seth rogen laugh after each joke

Every day of April will be 4/20 this year

Titmouse is producing the show and they aren't outsourcing the animation

Is that duncan trussell? Nice

Coolio

pass

AHAhaha time for more autism! is CN hosting his autism again? Honestly these people should be buried deep to never see the light of day(ignored) or purposefully targeted and attacked worse than Paris Hilton.

>duncan trussell

I miss the nowhere man.

>Duncan Trussel

The worst kind of crunchy alt comedian who won't shut up and takes over every podcast he guests on.

>Kaiba

Absolutely based

Attached: Kaiba_poster.jpg (680x1000, 271.9K)

This looks pretty good, i'll watch it when it comes out

Attached: strangelove.jpg (1280x720, 136.91K)

neat

is it actually done, like they said no more seasons?

Animation seems really choppy.

Main series is over, but there's a Catbug spin-off in the works.

alright cool, i can finish main series now then.

Why would you? Bravest Warriors was lame.

>netflix original

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. The staging and posing are pretty cool in the sakuga shots, and the color styling as a whole brings the show’s visuals up a whole notch.

Took a pretty quick turn into being something I don't want to watch despite the animation... didn't really expect to see something with that kind of shit humor from Pen.

I'm more interested in Craig's upcoming Kid Cosmic series, I hope that's good.

this looks like something that came from late 70's soviet union

>didn't really expect to see something with that kind of shit humor from Pen
You were turned off by the trailer because there was blood in an irreverent sci-fi mockumentary, and because he said naughty words?

Attached: Ricardio.gif (500x281, 90.31K)

>because he said naughty words
the execution, delivery, idk, come on man don't do that

Eh, to each their own. It’s totally fine if that teaser gave you a bad first impression, but I’d say it’s still worth checking out the first couple episodes to get a true feel for the show (especially since it’s only an eight-part miniseries).
