THE OWL HOUSE vs AMPHIBIA

Now that enough episodes are out we can finally have our big debate

The two worst shows currently on Disney Channel and the two worst "fanbases" on Yas Forums (in quotations because I don't consider them actual fanbases for the shows)

I like The Owl House. I'm not a doomfag who thinks everything that's not perfect is total garbage.

But it's not a contest. Amphbia's the better show.

Owl House loses by default because it never delivered on its own premise that was advertised for over a year of:
>A girl becomes a witch's apprentice

No exaggeration, 80% of the episodes aired so far have had Luz and Eda spent time apart for God knows what reason.

Owl House is fucking garbage so Amphibia

Has there ever been a cartoon so whole-heartedly rejected by Yas Forums? When I go into Owl House threads, even the people who like it seem to admit it's not a great show. Horse show, She-Ra, and RWBY all at least have people who genuinely like the show.

What was the point of Luz going to school? Is Eda going to teach her new spells the only spell Luz knows is the light spell and Eda didn’t do anything to help.

Why is Eda shit?

>Amphibia
>100%
Oof Tribe War over.

not quite

Amphibia is a super cute and comfy show that I just love.
Owl House is just ok.
I think the main difference in quality is the characters.
The Amphibia characters are all mostly good and memorable, whereas the Owl House character are, at best, just inferior versions of characters from other shows.

Owl House is a pretty sloppy Amphibia rip-off, with a touch of SvTFoE and Gravity Falls. It's like when i was little and watched cartoons with my sister and she made fanfiction and mashups of a bunch of different shows…
Amphibia has supirior worldbuildung and characterarcs..

Ok but
>Amphibia rip-off
How could it rip off a show that was in development at the same time, also when both are Star Vs/Gravity Falls ripoffs?

I'm pretty sure writers and producers talk, everyone involved in creation of a cartoon from brainstorming to drawing talks… and with the concept "girl going to magical realm" pitched it doesnt sound so far of too me

As Amphibiafag I think Owl house is winnig in terms of popularity because ratings and views = success.

Also no, it's not time wait until Owl House releases all episodes and stop trying to initiate a tribe war, faggot.

Tribe War never existed, so duh.
It was always just a couple of rogue shitposters.

Although they are often compared, they don't really have much in common besides starring brown girls.

>Luz is a studying to be a witch, while Anne has no magical powers and fights with physical weapons.
>Luz is a weirdo weeb, while Anne is more well-adjusted normie
>Luz can go home anytime she feels like, Anne is trapped in the world she traveled to

>Eda is cool wine aunt bad girl with a heart of gold but she's also super powerful, while Hop Pop is straight laced stick in the mud who is basically just a regular old man

they both have white girls bullying brown girls that will redeem themselves, although Owl House moved way faster in that area

Amity is a walking trope, her "redemption" episode made me lose all enthusiasm for the show, and I even got pass how Luz learned magic on her own

Owl House has:
-better characters
-more interesting lore
-no filler episodes
-WAY better artstyle
I don't see how it's even a contest.

bait

It's no debate, Amphibia is superior. Owl House beats Amphibia only in premise, which it squanders. Oh, and I guess it's more fappable too. For entertainment purposes, Amphibia is hands-down the clear winner.

>Owl House has:
>-better characters
Debatable. Eda is disappointing so far despite hyping up her potential of being the reluctant mentor.
>-more interesting lore
Considering the magical world they live in? Yeah, I'll bet there's a ton of lore and history in that realm, too bad we won't get to know barely anything about it since we seem to be going full on Hogwarts now.
>-no filler episodes
About 60% of the episodes are filler, the plot is meandering here and there now it seems like the writers just gave up and are sending her to school when this is supposed to be a summer adventure on being a Witch.
-WAY better artstyle
That's a biased opinion but I also prefer Owl house's over Amphibia.
>I don't see how it's even a contest.

No one but OP is trying to make it a contest. The shows are both fine by their own merits.

There would’ve been more voters for Owl House had Dana not had them aborted.

Amphibia is so much better, this isn't even a debate. Anne is a fantastic protagonist who's very fun to watch and ridiculously easy to root for. Amphibia also has beautiful backgrounds and wonderful music while TOH just looks unimpressive and bland.

Amphibia is better
not even a contest

After seeing how Owl house didn't reach the hype despite Disney's constant shilling and the heavy dips in writing and premise, I'm going to have to give it to Amphibia - that show has its head tighter on its shoulders.

Amphibia, the frogs accepting death so easily and Anne trying to get them to fight for their lives is the best

Amphibia wins on nearly every level, it's not even close. This isn't to say Owl House isn't worthwhile, but I already get Star VS vibes from it.
Amphibia's greatest asset, besides the much sharper writing and cohesive world building, is that it's a magical adventure that is actually an adventure. The major arc in Owl House, as far as I can tell, is Luz going to school - the same thing that caused her to leave the real world behind. This is stale, and no amount of magical creatures and made up spells can change that.

Amphibi's characters, plots and themes are better. Much, much better. Owl House is ok, but it definetely has some catching up to do on stuff like the things i mentioned. Anne's development from coming into the frog world becoming a honorary frog of wartwood and a plantar is visible, Luz becoming more of a mage and Eda's actual apprentice? Not so much. Also there's no knife ears in amphibia and that's an instant win

There is only one problem i have wit amphibia and that is anne irisponsibillity

Well i made a fuckton of gramatical errors, but i suppose it's understandable enough. Either way, point is that Human Girl in Frog world > Human Girl in Wacky Magic World, for a myriad of reasons. Also the Idea of Amphibia is more interesting and original.

Goes to show how important accurate marketing is. If promotions had been more upfront about the actual premise people wouldn’t be feeling short changed. It seems like someone in the marketing department felt like the actual premise wasn’t as interesting as what they could cook up in the editing room and I’m inclined to agree.

Amphibia is the better show so far, despite TOH having a better artstyle (to ok bad the writing needs serious work, compared to Amphibia, which gets it more than right as it goes along.).

BOTH are still better than Star Vs Her Own Fucking Obnoxiousness anyday.

Now kill this shitty thread.

>She-Ra
>Horse Show
>RWBY
Highly overrated garbage that people watch only to javk off to it. Try harder next time.

Bad writing is why Eda and Luz are apart for so long. Based and CORRECT - it is stupid and doesn't endear me to either Luz or Eda, as a result.

Amity is best character and did nothing wrong. Luz's friends aren't any better than Luz, who struggles to be likable, due to doing dumb shite too much for her own good. Gus is just there and Willow is a terrible character, especially because she's SJWBS.

I'm willing to see TOH get better than it started, but I proudly acknowledge Amphibia is the better show after only 1 season, so far.

Nice bait
Go KYS

I guess noodle limb brown tomboy girl is a trend this season.

Decent one

Yeah it's weird, Owl House has all the right ingredients to be good, but it just kinda trash overall. I mean, it's not unwatchable or anything, just bland.

Amphibia on the other hand was a real surprise, being like a much more comfy, much less serious Gravity Falls.

I am so let down by Owl House. I expected a somewhat Grimdark Amphibia but half the episodes is spent in a boring magic school where most of the people are basically humans. Episode 2 was what I wanted, a slightly dark and creepy adventure where the main cast grow and we see more of the very unique and hostile world. Instead we have to watch magic faggots in high school. You assholes said I was wrong about the magic school not being a big deal since Luz got banned but surprise surprise the ban got lifted. For fuck sake.

Honestly, She-Ra is surprisingly good past the first season. The character drama and relationships are fun and interesting. Catra suffering and the dynamic between her, Adora and Shadow Weaver are unironically great

>WAY better artstyle
Noodle limbs > realistic limbs
Anne is cuter and more fuckable this way. Luz looks too much like a real kid.

So are these different versions of the same show or what? Because the art and main characters look REALLY similar.

They're both shit

Luz isn’t noodle limbed and neither of them are tomboys.
Stop this meme of “short hair = tomboy”

They’re similar in that they both star brown teen girls getting transported to another world. Owl House is closer to Star vs with it’s magic and quirkiness, while Amphibia is closer to Gravity Falls with it’s more comfy vibe and physical action

This so much. The premise should've been:
>Teen girl goes into a demon world full of witches and monsters and learns to do magic.

And all the promos should've teased characters like Willow, Gus, and Amity. Instead, since it's announcement in maybe 2017 I think it was, the entire plot seemed to be about Luz being Eda's apprentice with her little pet King beside her. Even all the concept art we've seen involves the three of them in adventures together.

It's like halfway through, someone at Disney said during pre-production to add a school because kids like stories about school and they had to cut everything that involved a kid hanging out with an elderly lady and her pet.

You're just proving it mate

For people who live together, they sure aren’t hanging out a lot

>BOTH are still better than Star Vs Her Own Fucking Obnoxiousness anyday.
Nah. Can’t say either of these shows have reached a level near SVTFOE’s peak.

END THE WARS

>It was also the best episode

Who did it better?

Luz looks like she's been shooped into the picture. I think it's the lack of shadows.

Amphibia is comfy, every episode is worth re-watching, has great characters, amazing art and makes trannys from Yas Forums seethe.

Attached: 1583966772320.png (1070x1070, 768.28K)

TOH is better than Amphibia so far

>Implying the amphibia fanbase aren't the trannies since they try to involve it heavily with SU

>every episode is worth re-watching
Except for season 1 episode 19A. That episode should be wiped from canon

Besides the "Steven Harem" what sort of shit have there been with Amphibia and SU?

Amphibia have a better stakes and motivation for the character in general.
while in Owl House the main character have nothing to lose and is just there because she is annoying girl .

I said besides that.

The one where Anne dies
