You could say that. But what really makes it extra spicy for me is how the punished one grew out of the original one. It's one thing to see a crazy person, and another to see what made the person go crazy. And where there's a story about broken people doing twisted or desperate things, I'll be there to enjoy it. Insane people fascinate me.

Of course I do. But it's just one possible outcome out of many. I'd also 'enjoy' seeing her flaws leaving her completely alone, dysfunctional, or abused. I should have been more clear before, I actually enjoy reading people, not specifically seeing them shoved into trauma. Observing someone's actions and outcomes can say a whole world about them. But when under pressure, people's true nature tends to float to the surface. This in turn offers great insights into their possible future actions and relationships. This fuels my boundless autism.
Needless to say Spinel here is quite the treat. Really loved her bittersweet story. And I don't even know how she has handled life with the diamonds yet. There's lots to look forward to.

Clearly not what they meant. They're not saying they want to make changes to the character to make her more acceptable, they mean they want to be with a person who's damaged so that they will be entirely dependent on them, shower them with affection constantly, and never leave.
This is a very psychologically healthy aspiration that totally wouldn't end with them literally killing each other.
