How do you get your characters noticed by other famous artists, Yas Forums?

By being genuine with your work and always drawing and posting them
Eventually someone will notice your work and it will spread and perhaps someone on top the social ladder will see it and give you a couple of nods

It seems there's no reason why Plush Maria wears shirts with words on them, as they bring zero context to the comics she's in. The only one I recall having any sort of context was the Absolute Unit comic

He doesn't write or draw the comics any more, he just approves them.

Jim Davis for the last couple decades or so has just sat around on a pile of money and enjoyed the fruits of his Garfield empire while the actual strip's p much outsourced to some ghostwriters/artists

Think how there's a lot of Simpsons promo art with Matt Groening's signature, but he didn't actually draw it

Isn't that the case for some of the longer-running legacy strips at this point? At the very least, there has to be some ghostwriter or ghost artist that's assisting them.

Threads of his comic have been made for years now, but he certainly seems to have been more consistent with his art in recent time.

i want to be nice and friendly but in any non-banal conversation with another artist my contentious opinions about internet art are going to come up.

I'm not too surprised by this considering Jim Davis himself has drawn his characters a few times in the past, this time it's just in the form of a Garfield comic strip. Still cool though.

Yeah, it's not uncommon but I think Garfield's probably one of the better known examples through how big the franchise is.

Jim Davis, for all his flaws is probably one of the more relaxed cartoonists when it comes to other people's work.
Like the whole saga of Garfield Minus Garfield where he used his company to not only create a book of the guy's edits, but gave him a cut of profits.

The creator has given no reason why her shirt has random words on it, but it changes in every appearance she's in. Any any sort of context that can be asked about her gets responded with a "She's just Plush Maria."

This Plush Maria stuff is like Heathcliff but instead of utter confusion I get a vague sense of dread.

I guess it's worth noting too that most of the reason these Plush Maria comics exist is just so he can use it as filler while he continues preparing his Rosebuds comic strip for whatever release he has planned
