could an animated series work?and if so how?
Wonder woman thread

My Wondy knowledge is limited since I've only read Earth One and watched the first animated movie, but I liked them both. Of course an animated series could work. You just need to find people who actually care about the character and know her history for it to turn out well.
what villains do you think could work, outside of the obvious?
George Perez is her definitive run
Azzarello was her last good run
Current book is mediocre last I checked
An animated series could definitely work, like a globetrotting relic adventure like Jackie Chan Adventures
Why would an animated series not work and why is it necessary?
Is the act of reading so hard for people these days? It's like everyone wants to be a fan of anything comics but has no intention of reading one single word from them.
>Why do people on the comics AND cartoons board want to see a cartoon adaptation of a comic?
I don't know why people want adaptations at all. Go for the source material, it's always gonna be better.
>screaming while shooting
never fail to make me smile
I have been thinking lately about a wonder Woman animated series and the best example of how it should be done was Steven Universe especially the movie.
>it's always gonna be better
No. A good cartoon will always be better because you won't have to sift through years of shit to find the good stuff.
You don't have to do it with a good comic either. See if you don't like comics that's fine, you don't have to act like a fan just because capeshit movies are trendy.
Steven Universe is fucking trash
>if you don't like comics that's fine
I do like comics retard. The problem with the big 2 is having to sift through years of garbage to find good runs. It's why I have almost completely stopped following capeshit.
Perhaps, but the style and the way it is written screens Wonder Woman to me I think if you up the fight scenes a bit and down the mellow drama it could work.
Can't wait for a shitty bean mouthed Wondy cartoon, with terrible action, and inconsistent scale.
What in heaven's name are you blathering about you insane retard
ALL OF THAT SHIT IS STUPID AND WRONG
I was just referring to the general tone of SU not it as an while and certainly not it's flaws
>but the style and the way it is written screens Wonder Woman to me
No it really doesn't. I swear you idiots are mental. SU has shitty writing and everyone Steven talks to just bends over backwards to cater to him, regardless if it makes sense. There's peaceful resolution, and then theirs that half assed shit.
I'm getting really tired of you morons butting into every discussion.
The way Sugar writes the story beats and how the general theme is trying to avoid violence and sopic love and all that. It works for Wonder woman well Imo.
Only Deodato run was good because understood that supe heroines are just fap material to 12 year old boys.
Except Sugar can't write for fucking shit. Steven fucking cries and magically people get indoctrinated for some reason to see his opinion as right.
What did she mean by this?
>SU has shitty writing and everyone Steven talks to just bends over backwards to cater to him, regardless if it makes sense. There's peaceful resolution, and then theirs that half assed shit.
>I'm getting really tired of you morons butting into every discussion.
Not every resolution needs to be peaceful but Wonder woman generally trys to be as peaceful as possible.
I didn't imply Wonder Woman shouldn't try peaceful resolutions. Learn to read. I said SU has trash writing and can't come up with decent conflict resolution and payoff you braindead pussy
Then just don't do exactly that simple. I said that I admired her story beats and the themes they attempts the same thing would work for Wonder Woman
Anyone here actually kinda excited for WW84? It looks like it might be good
>fav. stories?
spirit of truth
Azz run
Jill thompson comic book
sensational wonder woman
post convergence- Justice league run
earth one
the current one that black label miniseries
a bit of gail simone and second ruck run
>fav. enemies and sec. characters?
Enemies: cheetah, Giganta, Poison and Psycho
secondary? donna and nubia
>could an animated series work?and if so how?
maybe like batman the brave and the bold, but wonder woman the sensational and divine

> can't come up with decent conflict resolution and payoff you braindead pussy
Then just fix this specific problem simple. Every other aspects of SU works for WW the lesbianism, the soft tone and even the vast supporting characters that were antagonist who joints up with the protogonist.
I would be excited but then I remember
>Gal Gadot is a complete misscast
>The villain for the film is Maxwell Lord, who is not a villain at all
>They're not even making him the actual Maxwell Lord, but instead making him have a wish rock or something along those lines
>The actual WW villain in the film, Cheetah, hasn't appeared yet in any trailers (which could mean she's supposed to be the actual surprise main villain but most likely means she's just an afterthought like it happened with the Birds of Prey in "their" movie)
wonder woman recs alternate
Am I the only one who really liked this design for Hades? His little arc was one of my favorites about Azz's run.
Cheetah hasn't appeared in the trailers because the CGI probably isn't done or they don't want Doomsday type backlash to revealing it.
Comics are a boring medium.
Nope I liked it also.
>Every other aspects of SU works for WW the lesbianism
>lesbianism
Fuck off
that still bothers me, that cheetah is such an afterthrought
What seems to be the problem user?
You don't see the inherent sopic undertones in Wonder Woman?
What I see is a moron thinking Steven Universe has anything of value and needs to push the trash writing into Wonder Woman. Drop it already
I like Circe. I want more Circe.
And her new look with the short hair is really cute.
New Wonder Woman villain:
Doppelganger.
Looks exactly like her. But evil.
>Gal Gadot is a complete misscast
She was fine in WW.
What a dumb take. You can make the same complaint about comic books in relation to novels.
donna "the deathbringer" troy already exists
No she wasn't. She does not look the part, her action scenes are stiff and she can't even act.
Dr. Psycho if you tone down some of the rapeyness
Or just play it as disturbing.
Of course you can. Don't read a comic adaptation of a novel: read the novel.
>Dude what if Wonder Woman was a lesbian!
I'm so tired of coomfaggots
She looks fine and her acting was fine in WW. She was only bad in BvS and JL, which isn't a surprise since everyone sucked in those terrible movies.
it's just /u/niggers who seethe whenever a female character shows any interest in men. ignore them.
I have only ever seen a couple episodes and the movie. The series might have bigger underlined issues idk but the tone works really well for WW
In b4 he posts *that* page.
How is it
I never said she should be a lesbian just that the world around her is very sopic ya know being raised exclusively by women and all
What page?
BLUNDER woman!
The characterization of Dr Psycho in the new Harley Quinn series would be pretty good. He's way less rapey even with the "Mature" tone of the series but a total narcissistic douche canoe and misogynist (Think "Dennis Reynolds" from Always Sunny who is also 4ft tall and has psychic powers). That could still translate without going for the old Brad Meltzer Surprise Sex Special.
