Todd is up there with the worst of Ramos

Oh Ramos is bad don't get me wrong but even he is nowhere near Origin of the species Fat Spider-Man

Nope, Todd's Spidey looked cool and allowed him to compete once again with characters like Batman and X-Men

Awful

Oddly enough, he got better.

shit

>It's a STYLIZED = BAD episode

Ramos has a very stylized artstyle, but he's not consistent with how characters are supposed to look and it's just plain terrible in some occasions.
He seems to be doing better now.

I'll never understand how retards can look at this and see anything but trash. Even as a kid I realized it sucked. You want a good, detailed Spider-Man? Pat Olliffe, Untold Tales.

You're just a cuck while Todd is a God

t. plebs

Even Todd himself says his Spider-Man was mediocre and that he wasn't a good artist. He attributes his success to playing around with the format/paneling

Despite his acclaim as an artist, fans found McFarlane's writing to be clumsy, unsophisticated and pretentious, and questioned the wisdom of allowing him to write a new Spider-Man title in the first place. At the same time, editorial had problems with the dark tone of the stories McFarlane was telling, beginning with the inaugural "Torment" storyline, which depicted a more vicious version of the reptilian villain Lizard under the control of the voodoo priestess Calypso. Subsequent storylines such as "Masques" featured Spider-Man confronting the demonic Hobgoblin, while "Perceptions", which involved Spider-Man dealing with police corruption, child rape and murder (a hint of the work he would later do on Spawn), led some stores to refuse to stock the book. This created further tensions between McFarlane and editorial, which viewed Spider-Man an historically light-hearted character marketed to young readers.

Ramos at least does have some good Spider-Man drawings. He is an artist who is inconsistent but has his moments.
Camuncoli is a good artist but he has never been a good fit for Spider-Man. He consistently drew him really stiff and bulky. Definitely my least favorite artist with a substantial run on the character.

Pictures? Pictures of Spider-Man?

This is one of the worst Spider-man out there

But he drew some good Norman and that's what we're all here for anyway.

all me btw

Yeah....no. That looks like Big Head in a funny hat.

That's a good point, I always liked his Gobby

What's wrong with this one

Nothing.

>lets draw the green goblin like a looney tunes character with big loveable eyes

I would like to see some more edge in SM.

I just felt like posting pictures of Spider-Man (Japanese-style).

This was is bad? He's so hot here

LOL

Alex Ross, just looks like a random out the street with a Halloween costume, it's missing the energy and excitement.

I agree.
I like his DC art more than his Marvel art for some reason.

Thank you, one of the last artists who should draw Spider-Man. And yet they got him to do all those covers.

What are the chances Stegman gets another Spidey book? He is one of the best in recent years.

Nice source, he's very proud of his spidey, he's the reason why he sometimes has big fat eyes these days

Spidey should never have defined lips or cotton-candy-ass sky blue accents, there's too much art of him with the latter

yo Frollo better watch out for this bell-ringin nigga

He nowhere says anything you said, he just admits the people before him had outdated artstyles.

Like I said, McFarlane made Spider-Man compete with the modern cool stuff readers liked

6:00 You retard

This is a thread about art, aka drawings.

Nobody ever said McFarlane wrote good Spider-Man stories, they said his drawing of Spider-Man were cool.

He'll probably keep doing Venom until Cates is done telling his story across who knows how many issues, according to Cates it's more than 50 supposedly. I would also like to see him do another Spider-Man book even if it was just random issues here and there as I loved his work on RYV, although I could see him wanting to draw something else besides Spider-Man and related characters.

What's wrong with it? It looks like Spider-Man

Fuckin hell. I get that it's stylized, but what's the style going for absolute dog shit?

When I was a teenager I though Humberto Ramos was so cool. I LOVED that Venom comic. But looking back now, it's so needlessly exaggerated.

McFarlane is just another garbage 90's artist who struck it big. A lot of shit art sold well in the 90's.

"I was an average to bellow average artist"
Who mentioned writing?

Looks fine, looks very stylized.

"-loot at the paneling, layout- Hoping you weren't actually looking at the drawing and going 'he's not very good" which is exactly what this post
says

That whole run was shit.
>Completely re-characterizing Norman
>That awful Doc Ock design
>Making Curt in control of the Lizard the whole time

Any time Kirby had to draw Spidey like in Avengers #1 he always looked off. For some reason he couldn’t figure out the design.

This shit it's great the paneling it's so fucking awesome and the art it's dynamic as fuck. You bitches are true plebs and hold the medium down

>looks very stylized.
Like Lolfield, McFarlane has a very tenuous grasp of basic anatomy, because he's never learned to draw people at all, just comix.
He is not a very good artist, he's just good at drawing costumes with a bunch of overdone webbing/cape-flutter.

People disliking how an artist draws Spider-Man is holding the medium down? If that's true, then that's one lame limp dick of a medium.

This thread is nothing but plebs bitching about non house style artists

Ramos is a better artist than Ottley

Eh, not really. It’s ok, but there were much better Goblin artists.
Also I honestly thought Jenkins did a bad job of portraying Norman/Goblin. It came off as an entirely different character.

I loved Todd’s ASM artwork. It was extremely dynamic without feeling silly overly stylized.

The problem with Ross is his style, his typical drawings capture the classic look in a hyper realistic style. unfortunately that isn't a good combination for spiderman.

Also, DC tends to go for the pantheon of hero's giving them a god like aura. Marvel has always made it's characters more human. Ross' style works better because it can make the DC characters larger than life, where as marvel keeps them more grounded.

You're gonna tell me at this point, humbertos style isn't considered Spiderman house style? Suck shits samefag

You are a faggot.
