Subject: Luz Noceda

Brief Profile: Luz Noceda is a self-assured teenage girl, who was considered too "weird" by her classmates and the principal prompting her Mother to send Luz to a camp retreat after a meeting between both parties about Luz' recent behavior.
Initially, the teenage girl protests about going to the camp until her mother reassures her convincing Luz to accept her circumstance much to her chagrin.
However, the plan changed when she accidentally stumbled into a magical portal leading to the Boiling Isles after chasing a owl stealing her favorite novel. From there she meets the immature, yet clever Eda and King and strives to become a witch under Eda's mentor ship.
Powers and Abilities:
Magic: Luz is studying the art of witchcraft under the tutelage of Eda the Owl Lady. Since Luz doesn't have a sack of magic bile attached to her heart like witches do, she can't preform magic with her bare hands; instead, she casts spells by drawing magic diagrams.
Light Magic: By drawing the proper magic symbol, Luz can create small orbs of light.
Hologram: using multiple light diagrams she can create animated Holograms.
Enchant Objects: if she draws the diagrams in more resistant materials such as wood, it can create enchanted objects.
The diagrams work similar to a circuit where if they are connected with lines, activating one causes a chain effect that activates the others.
Sword Proficiency: She is shown capable of wielding a sword, and was able to defeat the puppets of the Demon Puppeteer.

Yeah, Luz' power and abilities set is pretty small and if she were in the Marvel Universe don't expect the Avengers begging her to join the team. At best she would be a street level hero power wise.

It depends on which version of Doctor Strange you're talking about. If its comic book Strange from the 616-Universe, then yeah she wouldn't teach an autistic kid like Luz. She would be more of a liability that an actual pupil. Like I can imagine Luz fucking up and accidentally unleashing Dormammu ending the world.
On the other hand if its MCU Strange then I could see him taking pity on Luz for wanting to learn magic and being an outcast. So he takes her in as a apprentice, but would regret it when Luz would constantly take magical objects from the Sanctum Santorium for curiosity sake.

The humor is dark and cynical like Gravity Falls.
The Intruder, Covention, Lost in Language, and Something Ventured have cool animation when it comes to the magical elements.
