Hello, Storyteller.

What are your thoughts on precursor civilizations in sci fi/fantasy? Interesting narrative device, or hackneyed handwave excuse?

uhhhh, depends totally on the situation

I posted the digitals a few threads back

Wassup, work so busy last night I forgot we were on. But lurking tonight!

I found a site that sell some comic art and I had forgotten Aaron Kuder has drawn some Legion, in nu52 Legion Lost of all things. Lucky for my wallet there were no Gates pages

Today’s issue of X-men was very good. There’s a Dani and Magic fighting page I’m gonna start saving up for now, juuuust in case.

what, you guys know how lazy I am

What would you consider an example of precursor done poorly? A story where it's clear they only exist as an excuse to justify elements of the setting instead of being a proper storytelling device.

lesbo maxima's in orlando's wondy now

Hey OP.

TWENTY THREE YEARS. Do they let convicts have ferns?

I'd have to think about it and nothing comes immediately to mind, but if you throw out some examples I might have a take or might not

>Clark making logical deductions based on knowledge and experience
Anyone else get really annoyed when writers portray Superman as dumb muscle? Scenes like this are why that pisses me off. Dude's an investigative journalist, it's literally his job to figure out what's going on.

stop praising jurgens.

Ha, of course they hit a plane, it's a Superman comic.

Deeply overused by Bioware, to be sure.

Like, seriously. Every goddamn time with those fuckers.

Tinya, pls. She's doing it even with amnesia.

Also, I'm guessing this is probably a side effect of being a LOSH spinoff, but L.E.G.I.O.N has a lot of well written female characters. Like, noticeably so.

Not him but never!!

does anyone have the NEGAJURGENS pic at hand

Hey there.

HI user

I'm actually not too familiar with Jurgens in general. I just feel compelled to give a nod to Clark being written in character.

Even when they move the story to another fucking galaxy! Hell, even Anthem had precursor shit.

at least right now Bioware is taking the "ancient elves lived in harmony with nature" thing and turning it more to "lol they were total asshole sociopaths", which I am cool with

always angry. angry about elves.

he's trash and has never done any good writing or art.
and thus he was lead on superbooks for over a decade.

WHOOPS

>byrne and curt swan on art

The whole "elves are arrogant douchbags" trope feels like a bunch of people got super butthurt about Lord of the Rings and seethed about it for years, until some of them became writers.

... Why did Vril want Lobo to join L.E.G.I.O.N again? I get he was desperate for some raw muscle, but dude has been nothing but a liability so far.

there is nothing wrong about finding LOTR elves fucking insufferable, even if Silmarillion is Elves Behaving Badly

Attached: Adventures of Superman (1986-2006) 002 - Annual-019.jpg (1988x3056, 1.68M)

LOTR elves are metaphysically insufferable by design, and fantasy reacting against that is good and natural and excellent

Attached: Adventures of Superman (1986-2006) 002 - Annual-020.jpg (1988x3056, 1.63M)

At the time Lobo was the strongest asset he could get his hands on.

>Draaga
This is not long before he dies redeeming himself fighting Vril's dad.

Lesbian Maxima completely misses the point.
What even is her motivation if not finding highest grade sperm?

highest-grade tits?

He has to be the dumb muscle or else he makes Batman seem redundant.

>work so busy last night I forgot we were on.

Wait, there was a storytime last night?

yeah, we were 1 issue late show, sorry

Attached: Adventures of Superman (1986-2006) 002 - Annual-026.jpg (1988x3056, 2.02M)

Well, maybe Batman IS redundant.
>Clark has investigative skills
>Diana is well versed in strategy
>Arthur is impossibly rich
>J'onn is a telepathic detective
>Victor is a super hacker
>any Green Lantern has access to massive databanks
As Nightwing once said, fuck Batman.

and now, some COMICS HISTORY

Dubbilex looking extra Kirby tonight.

Yes you are, Vril. You may not like it, but you are Brainiac 2. Being a Brainiac involves causing everything to go to shit because of your arrogance and inability to get over yourself. Hence, you are Brainiac. Deal with it.

Attached: Adventures of Superman (1986-2006) 002 - Annual-030.jpg (1988x3056, 1.36M)

LOL

Oh. He is. Any group activity featuring Batman makes everyone else an idiot, to give him a reason to be there.

Hey, that's not fair. Querl got over himself FREQUENTLY.

Okay, we need to address this. The hell is with Dox Sr.'s hair? Dr. Logic McGalaxybrain here simply cannot pull off the punk look, and it's just kind of sad.

Seriously. The only reason the character can even remotely be considered cool and interesting is because the writer desperately tries to tell us so, even though logically, the other characters in setting render him completely useless with their own skills. Add to that the obnoxious and unearned ego, arrogant attitude, and the fact everything inexplicably revolves around him somehow, and seriously fuck Batman.

this is a pretty long and shaggy misunderstanding story
