Thanks for the storytime, OP.
After the 'Tec run and the first arc, I really appreciate the Outsiders just fucking curbstomping the fuck out of Ra's New League. Just outright embarrassing them. Must be the power buff from having Shiva around.
Speaking of, fucking YES. Crime is FUCKED.
Robert Perry
Is the writer still trying to ship Cass with Duke and Shiva with Jeff?
Matthew Howard
James Reed
He's not shipping Shiva with Jeff, he's shipping Tatsu with Jeff.
Charles Lee
SHIVA LOVES HER
CASS TRUSTS HER

>Cass is basically Bruce's kid, and thus Duke's sibling, even if no other book will acknowledge it
Feels good man. Weird timing, since this book is also starting to push one of her blood parent relationships more prominently, but nonetheless.

BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS #12
Batman goes over the edge! With everything that’s happened in Gotham City and Ra’s al Ghul’s personal attacks on the Dark Knight and his team of Outsiders, Batman lashes out and uses his all his anger and skills to take down Ra’s and his new League of Assassins on his own. Will the Outsiders be able to pull him back from his rage—or will they find themselves on the receiving end of it?

BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS #13
Ra’s al Ghul has had everything taken away from him. His League of Assassins, his power...even his family. All he has left is his mission to bend the world to his will and save it from itself. He’s more dangerous than ever, and it’ll take the combined full might of the Outsiders team to take him down! Featuring art by Gleb Melnikov (Angel).
Releases May 13th, 2020

>Shiva still on the League
>The League being on the cover at all after getting wrekt in this issue
>Angery Batman
There's this really weird and funny disconnect between this series' covers/solicits and the actual contents that's kinda uncanny and I have no idea how much of it is on purpose.
Thomas Roberts
I quite like Babylon.
Its a bit strange Batman seems to care more about her than Duke and Cass.
If she sticks around, she will probably end up another character who has Bruce as a sort of father figure.
Eli Diaz
Aw yes, Mommy/Daughter team up kung fu battle imminent.
Angel Gray
Fucking finally.
Andrew Williams
>Its a bit strange Batman seems to care more about her than Duke and Cass.
Bruce does, in some ways, tend to empathize with actual orphans more. He cares for Duke and Cass a lot, but because their parent(s) are still in the picture, even if inaccessibly, their vulnerabilities are probably less intuitive for him to understand and connect with. "I'm alone" is easier to unpack than "I'm alone, except for my evil parent over there, but I don't like to talk about it, and you wouldn't get it anyway," basically.
Ian Wood
>Shiva joins your party!
this fight is over
it cannot be lost
Brandon Richardson
Shiva telling Cass that she loves her makes me feel things.
Adam Myers
>Cass is basically Bruce's kid, and thus Duke's sibling
You clowns just don't quit. She's not his kid. Same for Duke. This is shit is getting old.

Didn't Bruce actually straight up adopt Cass pre-Flashpoint at some point?
Logan Johnson
I always wanted her to say these things to Cass and breaking the murder mom stereotype (until another writer brings it back) .
But right now? So happy. Finally!!!!
Xavier Gonzalez
Read pump.
Elijah Robinson
He did at the end of Batgirl Vol. 2 #6. The thing was DiDio swept it under the rug after Battle for the Cowl (Tieri was the only one who mentioned it right before in B&O).
Then nobody mentioned it really, until Gates of Gotham when Damian got jealous at Cass.
Samuel Sullivan
This is a good book with some of the best art in DC right now but I feel like it has a pointless plot so far. The Outsiders as a team were originally established because Batman was having issues with the Justice League and wanted his own team "outside" of their influence. The name now means nothing and the plot has no point.
They should/could still establish a reason why Batman needs his own side-team and can't rely on the Justice League for whatever is going down with Ra's here. I wish they'd bring in Geo-Force and Halo in here somehow too. I feel like they're just riding on the name.
Isaiah Wilson
She is not his kid in current continuity.
Adrian Nelson
Hence “basically.” She’s not adopted, but Bruce is her guardian and only present parental figure (up to this issue anyway). And arguing over this continuity VS that continuity is kinda pointless these days, what with the steadily increasing number of characters with memories of both. Even Cass herself is aware she should be “family.”
Cameron Lopez
Batman should adopt Sophia instead of Cass.
Or adopt Both.
