And no that retarded kiddie shit show doesnt count
ITT-series that deserve a sequel

RID was better than Prime though.
Youre a fucking idiot
Prime sucked. Cry more.
Your tastes suck
Prime was abysmal because it took itself too seriously for what amounted to yet another relic quest.
So what you want all transformer cartoons to be dopey and stupid like cyberverse or RID2015?
prime is the most boring, droll action cartoon i have ever seen in my fucking life
>dopey and stupid like cyberverse
That one gave me a new waifu! And then killed her!
7/10 show was all over the place but it definitely tried
this series was trash.
>That one gave me a new waifu! And then killed her!
>7/10 show was all over the place but it definitely tried
Who was that black arachnia?
It was losing steam by the last season. I doubt a direct sequel would've been satisfying.
Cyberverse, and it was Slipstream. Poor girl deserved better.
Wait they killed off slipstream, when?
Season 2. She got stabbed in the back by Bludgeon who barely did anything aside from that. And then they never mentioned Slipstream again aside from Windblade a couple of times.
>RiD2015
>no Arcee, no Knockout, no Wheeljack
It hurts. I mean, I guess I should be grateful we got Starscrwam, Ratchet and Bulkhead, but it still kinda sucks we didnt get the rest
Cyberverse is leagues ahead of Prime. You have to have grown out of your edgelord phase to understand it though
I yet have to watch it and I think I will like it but I don't think I will ever accept most of those designs. Does the series even have a proper end?
Prime was OK but flawed, I wouldn't go as far as to say RID was better but I do think Cyberverse is better.
It actually sucks that Prime had such glaring flaws in the writing, because that was probably the last time we'll get such an ambitious Transformers thing meant for TV, Prime looked fucking amazing and despite some saying it was "too serious" I thought it was fine, I liked the more dramatic tone for a change of pace (remember, some of us suffered through the Unicron Trilogy being the TV representation for years, and while Animated was great was a pretty drastic departure in a lot of ways)
>Does the series even have a proper end?
It had a TV movie, "Predacons Rising". It's not bad but not great either.
It what whatever, like already said ITT the series really was running out of steam by the end of it, production for that show was just a mess was was the whole concept of the "alligned continuity"
Sounds good, though also sad they kinda fucked it up later. I personally like serious stuff. I also enjoyed Cyberverse a lot, but it took me some time till I dared to start it because of how cringe other comedy shows/shows aimed at a younger audience were in the past. I think dark shit is always fine as long as you don't sacrifice characterization for it. Even a serious series needs characters being chill or funny from time to time or else they feel monotone and dead inside. It's part of my fear I have for WfC, the trailer looked a bit too ultra-serious-no-fun-allowed to me but maybe it's too early to judge it.
So did Cyberverse end up having any Unicron Trilogy characters in it?
You're easily impressed.
"Dopey" and "stupid" cyberverse has a bodycount that makes Prime blush, and as a bonus they actually develop the characters so you care when they get killed. But it doens't have mopey characters so its not mature enough for you I guess :[
I always personally felt like the tone of Prime was somewhere in between that of Beast Wars and Beast Machines...it mixed serious moments with humor, but not quite to the self aware/madcap levels of Beast Wars, and it did tend to be a bit more dark and moody at times....though not to the pretentious/eye rolling levels of Beast Machines.
That to me, is not a bad space to be in, it was just that they dropped the ball with the plots and writing a lot because it was a mess behind the scenes and there were conflicting ideas about things.
Airachnid remains the hottest ever fembot
Don't think so.
Prime was an awful bland generic show. RID was the sequel it deserved.
This but unironically. TFP was boring schlock that took itself way too seriously. At least RID knew that it was a show for kids and knew how to have fun.
Prime characters were extremely bland parodies of themselves as well. Optimus basically existed just to churn out meaningless stoic lines that only G1 fanboys who misremember what G1 Optimus was like would get a kick out of.
Bumblebee beeps and Megatron...whatever his deal is.
Megatron does crack.
>Optimus basically existed just to churn out meaningless stoic lines that only G1 fanboys who misremember what G1 Optimus was like would get a kick out of.
Not really. Prime Optimus was just the daytime TV version of Bay's Prime. So all the seriousness and none of the psychotic murder.
>and as a bonus they actually develop the characters so you care when they get killed.
I like Cyberverse, but really, I gotta call bullshit on that
>Blurr, any of the Seekers besides Slipstream, Drift, Prowl, we weren't given a reason to care about ANY of them.
Over half the kills were characters you had no reason to be emotionally invested in
Thats better than Prime where maybe two or three of the characters they killed were developed enough for people to care. Cyberverse also had a bigger cast so they can afford canon fodder.
Prime made the rookie mistake of thinking deaths alone make a show mature. So they killedoff a bunch of characters after one episode, or a handful, without making a big deal about most of them.
But Bay Optimus, psychotic breaks aside, is just a cookie cutter version of what people imagine G1 Optimus was all the time, so the point still stands.
>Prime where maybe two or three of the characters they killed were developed enough for people to care
And those deaths were fucking unsatisfying bullshit.
Did Prime even have ONE good death, where you actually felt like it was a satisfying conclusion?
And characters who WOULD have had satisfying death moments, they fucking wimped out on. (I'm specifically thinking of Airachnid's last fight with Arcee, and the aftermath of Bulkhead's encounter with Hardshell)
Here's Skyquake! DEAD!
Here's Makeshift! DEAD TOO!
Must we remind you we killed Cliffjumper?
Um...here's Dreadwing who looks just like Skyquake because apparently the budget was reduced because you all kinda stopped caring about the show.
>here's Dreadwing who looks just like Skyquake because apparently the budget was reduced because you all kinda stopped caring about the show.
They were supposed to be brothers, and despite whatever the continuity was, pretty sure Skyquake was the "recolor" of Dreadwing who was the more important character.
Dreadwing in Prime was a weird thing, but the twin brothers thing is kind of working off the fact that historically "Dreadwing" deals with partners/two bots. G1 Dreadwing was the combined form of Dreadwind and Darkwing, the G2 iteration of Dreadwing was the name of one robot, but still one who had a partner he combined with aka G2 Smokescreen. So I'm pretty sure Dreadwing himself was the basis for the idea of the Dreadwing/Skyquake "duo" not the other way around
Also, oddly enough Dreadwing looked a lot like Depth Charge so I dunno what that was about
Maybe that or maybe they liked the name Dreadwing. You give a good explanation though.
However it was still bullshit to introduce Skyquake and inmediately kill him. He got it worse than Airazor. Undisputed champ unless Makeshift counts.
>However it was still bullshit to introduce Skyquake and inmediately kill him.
I mean I could be wrong, but I felt like he only existed to die to give some motivation for Dreadwing, though that was pretty much wasted anyway as Dreadwing just died too.
Deeadwing dying would have been fine if the scene had been written better.
>and none of the psychotic murder.
Exactly. He's missing the best part. Bay Prime starting off hopeful and good in the first movie but transgressing into a punished maniac after the death of most of his friends, himself, and when he learns just how shitty humans are is his best quality
>Deadwing
Well, you are not wrong.

TF Prime will always make me nostalgic for these days
>tfw you will never be ready for the hot nuts again
i can smell the obesity from through the screen
He doesn't seem too fat
But what do you do with it? It honestly didn’t really go anywhere and had constant whiplash between seasons. Worst of all we got almost no interesting decepticons out of it. Just five me more TFA
Pretty much every con that wasn’t megs scream soundwave or shockwave existed to die or was ignored after their villain of the week episode.
>Worst of all we got almost no interesting decepticons out of it.
I think TFA was overall better than TF Prime, but this is just false. Airachnid and Knock Out are the two best original modern Decepticons at all
I like both, but they are about all we got and Airachind isn’t even that unique on her own she’s just another spider con mixed with the bounty hunter/trophy hunter idea that they aside from some throw away lines never really explored
If this isn't an intentional homage to Dobson, it's uncannily accurate.
We got some good wank material out of it but more than half of the show was boring. We need more Knockout voiced by Daran Norris.
Shockwave had to come during the third season and kick ass.
The whole Predacon thing was such a waste. They made such a big deal about it even naming the last season "Beast Hunters" and it was literally nothing.
is Miko the standard name for token weeb girl characters?
Imagine if Ripclaw was in the show. I would have loved it.
Squandered potential
>Beast Hunters
>Beast
>Not Beasts
I'll just never understand that.
Honestly, Prime squandered a lot of the potential it had for the last season, but I’m still really fond of the first two. Generally good dialogue and good character moments. Miko/Wheeljack’s revenge scheme comes to mind.
>Beasts Hunters
That would have been a better season.
