this poster is so dramatic for an animated pigeon movie. it reminds me of those painted posters that they’d use for big film releases in the 80s (Indiana Jones, Back to the Future etc)
I hate cluster posters in general.
You forgot:
>generic blue and orange color scheme
Watched this yesterday, it was surprisingly terrible. It's way too long (will smith doesn't become a pigeon until almost 30 minutes in) but the plot moves forward in sudden massive jumps (will smith getting arrested stood out worst). Never really felt like it used the whole pigeon thing properly either as Will Smith spends as much time human as he does pigeon.
Also, the entire cast is annoying and unlikeable. Wtf was the bad guy's accent? Sometimes it was vaguely European but it kept slipping into Australian.
>dat random hot receptionist
>someone spent a long time designing this character only for her to be on screen for less than a second
Don't really have an issue with blue orange contrast but fuck is it annoying seeing so many people blatantly make one half blue and the other orange then calling it a day. If you're gonna do it at least integrate it into what's going on in the art like this.
How's the scientist sidekick for Will Smith Spy?
lanky, sure but at least he doesnt have that generic jew hair that 99% animated cgi films seems to throw at us.
He's just kinda annoying. He has no character arc and is the typical quirky borderline autistic geek you always see in these films.
His personality is literally a series of bullet points of things that where it never really goes into detail, are usually brought up once then forgotten about, never being used to give him depth, they're just plot points that are needed for one scene.
>cop mother died
>he is a pacifist (because of the above? Who knows, the film spends about 10 seconds on this and still just dances around the reason)
>he's obsessed with pigeons. Except he isn't really because he doesn't seem to give a shit about his pet pigeon and he only talks about them when Will Smith needs something explained
>he likes glitter, it's this film's spork
he's weird! Lots of people call him weird, his mother liked him being weird, does then make some commentary on it being good to be weird later in the film? Nope
This film feels like it was a mess of rewrites before they eventually went "fuck it, lets release what we've got"
Fuckable apparently judging by all the porn I’ve seen of him on tumblr
There's a difference between "using a warm color to accentuate important aspects or iconography", like Merida's red hair or the burning Batman symbol, and literally just making half the poster orange for literally no reason other than "IT'S A COMPLEMENTARY COLOR". What the fuck is up with than Bourne Identity and Night at the Museum poster, god damn
it's also very misleading.
>Wtf was the bad guy's accent?
I thought he was australian
Ben Mendelsohn is Australian.
Post more pics of the office lady
that exists?
does it ever
This is the result of two Hollywood agents battling it out for their clients integrity, or lack there of.
When the film tried to make the phrase "they're gluten free" a triumphant and badass announcement, that was when I truly understood hatred.
>Name a worse poster
Tommy.
holy shit
didn't even know this movie already came out, apparently it had a budget of 100 million and only made 170 million world wide, what a flop. so it probably lost the studio 30 million at the minimum.
but yeah I miss movies being allowed to have cool, masculine white male leads/characters.
nowadays everything is either "strong wyman who needs no men", "smart/strong black guy" or "weak, emasculated and stupid white men"
>ill smith doesn't become a pigeon until almost 30 minutes in
It's almost like the original premise was it being a spy movie without pigeons
the women in that movies aren't even relevant. Even in the finale act, there's no chemistry with the angry girl plot and the conclusion of the story. It's all about will smith grooming his nerdy fuckboi
seconding
Gonna be honest this film was one of my guilty pleasures of 2019 I liked Will smith and even the moral about nonlethal takedowns wasn’t super grating
This shit looks like they got it from a random 15 year old on Fiverr
How did this movie do in the box office?
$170 million on a $100 mil budget, not a catastrophe but not really successful.
Part of it is because this was a movie being made by Fox before Disney bought it and then when it came time to release they were putting way more advertising power behind their own in-house movies rather than this thing they just sort of got stuck with.
I really do question what the path forward is for Blue Sky since they seem totally redundant being owned by Disney (who already have several other animation studios), I guess they still have one more movie in production but I could see then pivoting to making spin-offs for Disney+ after that
Ice Age 6
post pics of the milf pls
so Disney is going to cannibalize them, right?
>miss movies being allowed to have cool, masculine white male leads/characters.

Someone sounds insecure.
Go make ‘em yourself. Plus, it’s not like you don’t already have DECADES of films with those very leads. There are countless different stories also worth telling. The fact that you can’t find a film “immersive enough” because it doesn’t star your precious Gary Stu is pretty pathetic, man.
It wouldn't be nearly so bad if many films made a deliberate point to shit on men, doubly so if they're white. Besides, if skin color doesn't matter like we're told, it shouldn't matter if the lead is white or not, yet there's a whole lot of whining when they are, vis a vis Rambo, Ford v Ferrari, Sonic.
>Blue Sky
didn't they have an internal revolt over hiring John Lasseter who had to make a public statement saying he wasn't going to grope anyone when he was brought on board?
>Night at the Museum
night = blue and daylight = orange, whenever i saw the poster i always associated it with the plot about having to get them back to normal before they got fucked by the sun
funnily enough I watched it maybe a month ago and thought it was better than I expected. But I was also expecting it to be absolutely abysmal, but the visuals were pretty good, and the characters weren't totally unwatchable. I'm glad they didn't have him as a pigeon the whole time, I liked it when it was more of a classic spy movie
No, that was Skydance. He’s heading their new animation division which hasn’t actually made anything yet.
>Luck is described a comedy that pulls back the curtain on the millennia-old battle between the organizations of good luck and bad luck that secretly affects our daily lives. The movie is being produced by Skydance Animation and Paramount Pictures in conjunction with Spain’s Ilion Animation Studios. Paramount will distribute.
and apparently Emma Thompson quit the lead role after John Lasseter got on board. Man, hell of a start.
Gahdamn... I was worried NotHoney Lemon would be Spies in Disguise’s only waifu
>Go make ‘em yourself.
People who have the "wrong opinion" don`t get into Hollywood and liberals always find a way to shut down the few voices that try to make it own their own via censorship or smear campaigns.
>Will Smith had it all..a wife a weird ass kid and non threatening ties to Scientology
>but after a freak science accident leaves him a bit more bird brained than before, can he balance the daily life of a black super celeb and his awesome lust for bird seed?
>THIS SUMMER
>Will Smith IS
>"YO..."
>A PIGEON!
>"YO I'M A PIGEON!"
Rated PG.
unf, mommyyy
Honestly, probably the only reason the Marvel movies are as big as they are is guys like you, its been the only real white male safe space even DC heroes are all big jerks like Superman and Batman probably all killed people and fucked them up but Marvel guys like Iron Man have barely any flaws are all are pretty nice white male self inserts.
Why does race matter? Why does "smart/strong black guy" trigger your autism?
who dis?
Because the media at large don't want the white male lead movies to scuceed and go out of their way to smear them at every chance they get. Like the movies this guy said Honestly, you're getting mad at people who are mad at media who are mad at movies starring white people.
>Because the media at large don't want the white male lead movies to scuceed
Yea man Disney hates the success of the MCU
Not the MCU, those other movies like Sonic, Joker and Ford vs Ferrari.
She looks retarded.
>just throwing generic in front of a sentence to make it seem more stale than it really is
The poster sucks but learn to explain your reasoning
Rude. Wendy Beckett is cute! CUTE!
I wanna smooch that nose
Oh, she cute
Bump, goddammit!
Stigwood does it again.
I will never forget that movie where John Travolta getting a handjob from Lily Tommlin was a good enough scene to go on the poster
At least that one's better than the one before it.
A fucking triangle?
The movie was a cringefest too
I watched the movie yesterday and have absolutely no idea who she is wtf
mom that dies in the first scene
