Didn't see a thread, third episode aired tonight
Did they run out of their budget already? It was only 19 minutes and they cut out the introduction of the decimator

That look on echo knowing he will go back to the war and realizing that is not so different of being just a tool connected to a war machine.
No they literally censored out several minutes worth of content like the techno union actually killing a local with the device and Anakin talking to their leader, they were too lazy to replace it with something else and the whole episode is thrown off in length and pacing because of it
>Censored
I hate redditors and the fact they just apply terms incorrectly as they please.
For comparison here’s the full scene with unfinished animation it starts at 2:30 and they even cut it out but it’s obvious someone just looked at it and said no youtu.be
Anyone have a Mega for the new ep?
Check the one in the archive.
That's not what "censor" means fella.
It makes sense why it was cut, it's kind of redundant and ruins the pace of the episode. It doesn't present anything new to the audience.
Think about it:
>The Techno Union isn't neutral but pretends to be - which we've already seen
>they have an organic decimator - we already see it almost get Wrecker. it doesn't really need an introduction, we can get the jist from the name decimator. plus the CIS tested an organic decimator projectile in the Lurmen arc which already sets precedent
>The Techno Union doesn't respect the natives - we see this when they send a bunch of droids and two walkers to attack the village
That's wrong on so many levels
>The original scene explains and shows what the decimator does, if you didn't see the storyreel version, you have no idea how it works and can only guess.and they mention organic life as an after the fact
>It looks like the natives just instantly join the republic when the Techno Union hasn't done anything against them. The storyreel version shows that the Techno Union not only considered the natives their property, but they already used them for experiments, which gives them a much bigger stake whereas in the aired version where they could have just told the Republic to leave the village.
It was a terrible cut.
I didn't notice any cuts or pacing problems. It was a fun episode. I'm glad Echo is back in business.
>The original scene explains and shows what the decimator does, if you didn't see the storyreel version, you have no idea how it works and can only guess.and they mention organic life as an after the fact
user, it's called a DECIMATOR and is clearly intended to target the, you know, loving things that were infiltrating and stealing Echo.
>It looks like the natives just instantly join the republic when the Techno Union
hasn't done anything against them. The storyreel version shows that the Techno Union not only considered the natives their property, but they already used them for experiments, which gives them a much bigger stake whereas in the aired version where they could have just told the Republic to leave the village.
They join because they see what the Techno Union did to Echo and because they assaulted the village, duh.
>please spoonfeed me I cant possibly make reasonable inferences on my own
The vast majority of clones have a military boner. Although he showed enough individuality to become an ARC trooper, so there is that.
>cut out 3 mins of screentime
>most of it is useful exposition
>dont fill in the holes with something else
>get an 18 min run time
Ive been saying it, and the removal of the padme pinup joke was just the start
This season as a whole will be soulless as fuck
Why is discussion al of a sudden so fucking dead?
idk. anons just start bashing the show, disney, and nu-star wars. so, i'm going to sit out on these discussions.
Everyone's waiting for it to turn to shit, like all Disney star wars works eventually do.
If the season goes by and they somehow manage to avoid fucking it up, discussion might pick up
Cuting, Editing, and Removing anything involving (Language, Sexual, Nudist, or Adult themed from its original presentation for a viewer audience is a form of censorship. You dipshit.
Meant for
You assume the animatics are akin to the final product. It seems quite probable that they regularly made minor changes when creating the final product before disney. Although I’m not an animator so it’s only a guess.
>They see what the techno union did to Echo
This was a bit jarring to me. They were so against getting involved before, but suddenly they are on board now? The chief goes as far as saying he is a “friend to the jedi”. From just this episode I do not take it for granted that the Techno Union regularly attacked the natives. I got the impression it was due to Anakin and the clones, which made it seem like the natives should resent them, not love them. That cut scene might have helped not to give that impression.
It still doesn't show how it decimates, The original version does. Also why would they immediately choose sides because of what they did to Echo? He was with the Republic, they were neutral and until that point, they were left alone. The original version had the Techno Union already experimenting on them so their hand was forced.
That's how things work you retard. Why do you think they added the scene of Anikian talking to Padme?
You have an unhealthy obsession with reddit like the rest of the retards here.
t. redditor
Don't forget they changed the line about Echo possibly being a traitor instead we got ''lol he's a reg, fuck him.'' Anakin worrying about Echo being a traitor and Rex promising to deal with it if that's the case.
t. autist
Seeing my man Echo being malnourished and making a joke despite all reminds me a little bit of Alphonse during this scene.
>This level of grasping at straws.
Read the definition of censorship newfag.
>the practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and suppressing unacceptable parts
If the writers and director change a scene from the storyboard version of their own choice, it's not censorship. It would only be censorship if some third party, like from BSP comes in and tells them to change it or cut it. And that actually did happen once in series where they cut Colt getting impaled and kissed in the broadcast version.
But that doesn't apply here you bantha herder.
Will you guys buy the blu ray when it's on store?
Literally on any cartoon that faced this kind of problem, the people behind the show referred to it as censorship. It might not be totally correct by some minor technicality, but it's still the same damn thing. It's obvious Disney demanded they cut it, hell there's an episode of Gargoyles where Elisa threatens a villain with a gun but they censored it in reruns so it looked like he just backs off for no reason. They censored Stan's hat in Gravity Falls for fuck's sake, it's just Disney being retarded and wasting money.
>Use the term literally wrong
Strike one
>Confirming my point that you need third parties to intervene on the original published work to be censorship
Strike two
>Already showing doubt in his own position, doubt leads to failure. And the artist changing the work of their own will and without an external pressure before publishing it isn't censorship
Strike three
Using absurd semantics to kiss Disney's ass. How embarrassing. I don't doubt I'm right, it's obvious what happened. Filoni showed a ton of violent crap on TCW when it was on CN, there's no reason he would cut this unless Disney demanded it. Try again, and this time do it with your lips removed from the rat's ass
>absurd semantics
It's the definition of the word, how literal do you need shit to be.
Return of /swco/ when?
I'm just calling things fairly.
Unless you have proof that the scene was cut because Disney demanded it, claiming it's censored is completely without merit and retarded.
Stop being a faggot and shit on Disney for the billions of actual things they do wrong instead of making shit up.
Dooku was once close with the Jedi.
Remind me; according to Canon, why did Dooku exactly leave the Jedi Order?
He hated how corrupted the Republic was, and I think he had some disagreements with how the Jedi handled things so he left.
He was fed up with the corruption of the Republic and the Jedi serving the corrupt Republic. Also he was sad and mad about Qui-Gon's death.
What if Ky Narec never died and got picked up by the Jedi. Would Ventress join the Order and become a fine Jedi Knight?
They've cut stuff from action shows hundreds of times, why wouldn't they? Stop sucking mouse cock, you pathetic little shill.
Why are you doubling down on being wrong? You can't prove that was the case for this.
You're a newfag, you've been taught to use the word censorship wrong. Time to not be a newfag for once in your life and learn what words actually mean.
I'm right, you're wrong because you don't know how TV works. In every case when a show creator is forced to cut something by the network, they refer to it as censorship and I think they know more about it than you do because they make the fucking show. Do better, shill.
Yeah kinda...
What's up with the TCW intro of season 7?!
Probably who knows, it seems as tho she had the same attachment issues as anakin, tho she kinda chilled out as time went on.
Sometimes I wish was I writer in one of TCW teams. Character developments and clone troopers arcs would be my departement.
>It still doesn't show how it decimates, The original version does.
And? We don't HAVE to see how it decimates to understand it's a threat. Sure, seeing it might help, but it's not essential.
> Also why would they immediately choose sides because of what they did to Echo? He was with the Republic, they were neutral and until that point, they were left alone. The original version had the Techno Union already experimenting on them so their hand was forced.
Because it's a war crime to experiment on sentient beings? Because the natives are against experimenting on sentient beings and holding them hostage? Because they're just good people?
It's not hard to come up with a simple explanation.
And the burden of proof is on you to prove that they were forced to cut the scene by a third party and it wasn't their own choice, you have failed to do that.
So you're wrong.
Anyone else felt bad for the many natives that got killed by the dozens and their villages destroyed by the droids?
>You just have to imagine it's a threat
That's not how things work on TV.
>Because it's a war crime
Says who? And aren't clones technically property to begin with?
That doesn't matter to a neutral species who's been, for all intent and purposes, left alone by the Techno Union. The storyboard version shows that the Techno Union used them and gave them a reason to join the Republic. They could have very easily told Skywalker and his group to just leave the village and not involve them in the war by saying Echo was experimented on because he's part of the Republic.
>That's how things work you retard.
No you don't have to be spoonfed, retard.
> Why do you think they added the scene of Anikian talking to Padme?
Because Filoni wanted Padme to have at least some presence in this season. It's why he cut out the pinup joke. He felt that scene did a disservice to Padme since she wasn't in any of the arcs they chose for this Season.
We've known for a while they'd be doing tweaks to this stuff, even the Bad Batch arc which was further along than Ahsoka's Journey or the Siege of Mandalore.
Definitely. They died for a good cause though.
>That's not how things work on TV.
It's how it's worked many times in the past.
>Says who?
Logic?
>And aren't clones technically property to begin with?
Technically, as far as the Senate/Kaminoans are concerned.
>That doesn't matter to a neutral species who's been, for all intent and purposes, left alone by the Techno Union.
Assumptions, assumptions. Clearly, based on the final, finished episode, the natives are appalled by the experimentation on Echo and it convinces them to at least help Anakin, Rex, and co.
And after they fought an defended the village together the natives decided to ally with the Jedi at least to some extent.
>The storyboard version shows that the Techno Union used them and gave them a reason to join the Republic. They could have very easily told Skywalker and his group to just leave the village and not involve them in the war by saying Echo was experimented on because he's part of the Republic.
Yes, the storyboard version did. This is the final, completed episode.
And yes, they COULD have. But they didn't.
I've come the conclusion that the writers deeply regret killing off Domino Squad so early on.
Earth to faggot it was suppose to be in the episode. It made no sense story wise for the part to be removed and took away the sense of danger.
It was even in the DVD of series collection. Dont sit there and tell me that an episode that has been out for 5 fucking years suddenly needs cutting.
You should explain that to these guys because clearly it wasn't needed according to them.
>Earth to faggot it was suppose to be in the episode. It made no sense story wise for the part to be removed and took away the sense of danger.
It wasn't "supposed" to be in the episode. It was a possible scene that was in the story reel. Bad Batch was still being developed even though it had reached a storyboard stage. At any point in time, had the shown not been cancelled, they could have made the very same decision to remove the scene back then.
>even though it had reached a storyboard stage
user, it was fully voiced with sound effects. It was FAR beyond the storyboard stage.
Yeah, poor Cutup and Hevy.
Fives und Echo deserved more screentime and episodes. All the clones imao and Commander Jet should have been replaced by Bacara.
If only I was one of the writer of TCW...
>user, it was fully voiced with sound effects. It was FAR beyond the storyboard stage.
AKA still a storyboard.
Did you guys rewatch TCW and thought: some things could have been changed/added/cut or altered?
Disney+ animated shows outside Caballeros have really had no discussion on Yas Forums
Don't know why
Bossk
>censoring Wat Tambor
>If it aired on cn it wouldn't have been cut
