That's my biggest thing with this. Yeah the Soviets were doing bad things to some people but not only does the movie quickly sideswipe the bad things America does after basically confirming, as Superman's realization didn't come from him, but from a psyops from a corporate influence that wanted to undermine a foreign nation for their own benefit.

After that we see that same corporate mogul unleash a living, suffering, brainwashed bioweapon into a crowded population killing dozens of civilians, engaging in proxy warfare for decades, strong-arm the government into giving him access to his own airforce and slowly creep his way into a position of absolute dynastic power.

Meanwhile Supes decides to go full brainwash for no adequately explained reason, even though unlike the comics he killed Stalin in the first 20 mins for incarcerating people, including his childhood friend (who even as a kid was a massive fucking tankie by the immediate response she gave to Supes so god knows why she of all people got sent there), decides to enslave an alien superintelligence that almost obliterated his country, and somehow is completely unable to detect the presence of Batman.

A batman which for whatever fucking reason turns into a libertarian terrorist bomber who kills innocent civilians yet is still circlejerked as an anti-hero, Diana gets captured by him despite him not having any countermeasures against the amazonian supersoldier, and gives up on superman because he mindwiped people (again, for some interesting reason. Prisons don't exist in your version of the world superman?).

And that twist that Supes could have always re-establish Stalingrad yet didn't was all kinds of retarded, but that's neither here nor there.

And yet we're shown how Lex has been in charge for as long as superman has been a thing using the government as his own personal playtoy and army, culminating into a world united under the guidance of Luthor, and yet this is a good thing.

In TDKR cartoon Batman clearly shoots in mutant's gun, Joker clearly breaks his own neck, while Superman clearly kills soviets
