I don't even get why they felt the need to put in these gratuitous sex scenes since Castlevania was never really an overtly sexual series; at most you'd get some succubus boobies or something disturbing like Graham's demonic form.

Because it has an adult rating and they want to push the envelope I think. I feel like the sex could have been handled more tastefully, what we got felt like cheap bad porn, like an 8 year old would make if he suddenly had a huge budget and a bunch of animators at his disposal.

The idea was (should have been) Alucard was hurting and punishing himself for killing Dracula with isolation.
The nips showed up and he imprinted his want to have friends on them, they got close and then they tried to have sex with him. The sex made him vulnerable and he opened up and felt connected again (he was crying during the sex pre dicking) and was immediately betrayed.

He was crying because he was betrayed in a moment of vulnerability, not because of the fucking buttsex.

We find out they're kind of power-hungry weirdos in the scene where they're trying to kill him, but even in the face of that why would they kill such a reliable source? They thought he was withholding from them, but he was still their best shot with or without the libraries he was guarding. Ellis clearly wanted Alucard to get dicked and betrayed and wrote the rest around this outcome, but it doesn't work as anything but misery porn for normal people and actual porn for fujos.
