Next season is going to probably have Lenore breaking down what's left of Hector's resistance to her and his position. She'll ask him about what happened before Dracula and gaslight him into 'realizing' how miserable he was. From there, Isaac will show up and kill her, driving Hector to swear revenge.

Hector's tale will be of some poor bastard who couldn't understand people and was constantly manipulated by them into a shittier life than he already led.

I thought Isaac's scenes with the ship captain were the only halfway decent bits of character writing in the season; it also helps that he had a clear target for the outset and the entire season followed him working toward that goal. You could've cut out a lot of this without much being lost, but it was nevertheless the only thread of the season that I thought had any momentum behind it even if his character is more or less the same as where we found it.

Yes this 'season' was all set up but it wasn't all filler.

50 shades of hector is essentially the 'main' plot. It establishes the new antagonists (the qweens), their plans and their characters.

Alucard's hot date was massively bungled but the ideas behind it and his character arc were relevant

Trevor and Sypha's side quest is also essentially filler but you get to at least see their relationship and it sets up Dracula and the new character.

Isaac's story is just a weird explanation about how he will have a monster army and some fedora tipping.
