I liked his characterization in the new Batman, and now this in "Superman Villains", the Joker apparently spams Lex Luthors voicemail with random nonsense messages.

Did you read Superman Villains? I liked the bit of Mongul foreshadowing/lore where Mongul rambles about them always killing their fathers and becoming the new overlord of Warworld, than his son 'Mongul' kills him.

That's nice, Mongul used to be my favourite Superman villain. Not because of the guy himself but I really liked the idea of Warworld as a kid.

I just read the new Superman Villains comic and there the current Mongul killed his father Mongul (one ur talking about) while he rambled about the time he killed HIS father to gain Warworld. Its and endless cycle of Monguls.

It's just trash talk, few pages later Kang shoots Orb and Paladin with some weird bullets that makes them sob like cunts and weak lmao.

I read the comic, the image I posted is from that site.
And I'm angry for reading it.
It's just that New52 was finally breaking the trend of "Mongul Jr is Mongul in everything but name" and making Mongul like a fusion between Mongul and Mongul Jr and making Mongul Jr (in this case Jochi for a change) into just a neutral chaotic monster.
But now Mongul is just diminuished as nothing than a mantle

I've typed Mongul so many times now it's fucking my head up.

They gravitate towards each other as the staple enemies of the World's Finest. Plus Joker finds Lex a parallel foil to Batman, because they are both agents of Order, like he is an agent of Chaos. Lex is an excellent straight man.
For his part, Lex finds the Joker both dangerous and useful, and I suspect oddly alluring since he is clearly insane, but at the same time a logistics and strategic genius who has absolutely no fear.

I guess you could say they view each other with a sort of mutual respect between apex predators that hunt different prey. On the other hand, the Joker would be pretty upset if Lex went gunning for Batman, while I suspect Lex would not care at all if the Joker found a way to mess with Superman.

Mongul was literally always a 2 dimensional generic warlord that was completelly pointless due to Darkseid and Despero, at least this backstory give him a reason to be like that, literally raised into a culture of warmonger aliens that do nothing but war.

It's not about being believable, it's about being boring and pointless, Mongul entire character was being a jerk that wanted power, ok cool so does Darkseid, Despero, Zod and countless others, the difference is that those other characters had more unique backgrounds and personality traits. Mongul had nothing, the warlord culture allow you to explore his character and race, adding more worldbuilding to DC.

He wanted power and Superman was his way to gain it, he used Superman because at the time he was the only that could defeat Martian Manhunter in a fight.
