Voices remain in the correct bodies but the caveat is that Luz makes an observation that she wasn’t expecting that to be the case because that’s not how it works on TV and Eda quips back that that would be stupid.
This scene goes on for at least 30 seconds too long.

God this show has been disappointing. You get shown this cool monster world but instead we watch knock off Little Witch Academia and deal with a bunch of pointy eared humans as the supporting cast.

I thought Owl house would have been a little like Amphibia but with a grimdark world. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STUPID MAGIC SCHOOL. Every single secondary character is a human with just pointy ears. Yet we're led to believe this is some hostile monster world? What a crock. Eda is supposed to be teaching Luz, we don't need a point of reference like the school, Eda can be used as a metric. A rival character is fine but they could've easily just made Amity an apprentice like Luz being taught by Eda's sister instead of this whole hogwarts hogwash. Like who cares about Willow and that other kid? No one except contrarian cumbrains. They're boring and they're not why I want to watch the show. I swear if another plot is about magic school, and magic faggots with magic bullshit I'm going to scream. I wanted a cool mystery world like we saw in Ep 2. The massive fucking institute that works like college but for witches right inside this world where monster spit acid at each other for fun and it rains acid is so fucking generic and boring.

It's isekai I guess. I'd say The Owl House delivers it's lore better than Amphibia. Ex: magic is introduced to us early and nuggets are given over the few episodes there are. As oppose to the toad/frog war which is a big part of Amphibia current events but we only get info dump on that during the finale and mid season.

That's ham fisting it if Eda is the only one with knowledge and the suppose it right answers. Remember Eda is bias herself and an outlaw. At least with Hop Pop he aims to be a source of moral guidance for his grandchildren; plus he tagged team with Sprig to deliver exposition to Anne and the audience.

I have no preconceived notions of what fantasy shows should or should not have, or where the plot should be going. I just want some wit and creativity in the writing, and Owl House has given me none so far. There hasn't been a single dialogue exchange that made me think "that was smart," or any kind of subtle foreshadowing, or timing that jolts and surprises, or a resolution that is novel yet logical. When the show delves into drama, perhaps the one aspect with a flickering spark of life, it's dragged down by the emotionless, moodless storyboarding.
It's the flattest bit of writing in cartoons this year so far. No additional amount of ingredients would improve it, because it's the preparation that's bland. There are terrible cartoons that I'd rather torture myself with because they suck with a personality (TC Roar).
