Bors is a faggot but I don't get what you mean.

Indeed, how could anyone be responsible for following through with the one possible outcome of the lives. You gonna hold the rain accountable for falling?

More like

*Delegitimizes any attempt at changing any societal status quo*

>Bors
more like boring amirite

Is this the worst straw man ever created?

Imagine having to strawman this hard to defend your bourgeois product

Attached: 1_XRa2SMveRrEtfEyfODHrcA.png (915x657, 417.02K)

>hashtags are acting
>It's not my fault if things I enable with my money are bad because I am a GOOD person, and corporations are evil
lmao

The problem with this argument is that the bottom two panels imply an improvement to the product or subject itself (the car, society). If someone used an iphone and said "iphone should have longer lasting batteries" then that is the equivalent statement and it would in fact be ridiculous to say people who buy iphones can't complain about features of the iphone.

Buying a car doesn't prevent seat belts from being made. Buying an iphone inherently supports unethical business practices. This argument is especially bunk because there are competitors you can totally support with little loss.

>How can i debunk this strawman?
>By proving it right of course!

>This argument is especially bunk because there are competitors you can totally support with little loss.
Yeah, why buying American products outsourced in China because cheap slave labors when you can directly buy from other countries's corporations who outsourced in China because cheap slave labor. You could even directly buy from Chinese corporations themselves!

At least the author is aware their obsessive-compulsion to consume product places them on par with uneducated serfs.

It's only a strawman in your head. That's the problem with your power trip.

Eat the rich.

But i want to be rich

Attached: 1424639015073.jpg (298x427, 14.57K)

Isn't the whole reason that companies pay Chinese workers like shit because the Chinese government explicitly makes that an option with no minimum wage? Like isn't it on the Chinese for not protecting their workers, and the companies just exploit that? Also, isn't the alternative for a lot of these workers to not have a job, so I'm an objective way it's beneficial to both parties even if it's definitely unbalanced?

Like what does this person want, for Apple to start spending on a side of their business built from the ground up to only be sustainable through low spending, almost ensuring the company will go bankrupt and have those workers go jobless?

>A few moments after the rich fled to ireland
>Eat the middle class!

Pretty much

This is the person who says they should boycott Blizzard for the China thing, but then pre-orders the new World of Warcraft expansion or Overwatch 2. They want to feel good about being hypocritical, so they disguise it as "no ethical consumption under capitalism"

You participate in society because you don't have a choice.
You buy a car because its necessary in modern life.
You don't *need* to have a name-brand apple device and actually have a choice to buy products that aren't made in sweat shops.

>Matt Bors
Oh boy! A dumb faggot thread.

Has this guy ever made a comic that wasn't
>be a good little sheeple and consume shit while not asking any questions about how and why the world is as it is now
?

Your Epstein *did* kill himself?

>Epstein was going to out the most powerful people on Earth as pedophiles.
>mysteriously dies with no evidence and witnesses and security cameras broke.

Serfdom, as we understand it today, was mostly an invention of later generations. Throughout most days of the Middle Ages peasants enjoyed freedom of movement and a shorter work week on the average.
It wasn't a perfect society, because no such thing exists or ever will, but people generally got by.
The idea of squalid serfs living on scraps of food in their own filth and constantly getting brutalized by the local lord is something Renaissance writers made up.

A lot are going to Vietnam or India these days.

the iPhone one made sense since you have a lot of other phone choices

>You buy a car because its necessary in modern life.
So are cellphones. It's one of thoses countless shit that went from "brand new gadget" to "you're fucked if you don't have one" like cars as you mentioned or bank accounts or access to the fucking Internet.

Shit you could have a flip phone.
Actually punching in "phone's not made in China" comes up with a bevy of options from South Korea and Taiwan.
I didn't check price but iPhones are marked up to Kingdom Come regardless of manufacturing costs.

Do you retards realize how cheap smartphones actually are, especially when packaged along with a data plan?

>and security cameras broke
A security camera broke. The one facing his cell. Not all of them on the bloc. Unless he was killed by a teleporter, it was suicide.

The question here is country of origin not price.
South Korea and Taiwan are considered developed countries with labor laws and democracy and shit and they manage to have a small electronic manufacturing base.
Don't buy Chinese.

yea and by phones i mean other smartphones other than iPhone ya dingbat

Better question, has this guy ever made a comic that wasn't
>ambiguous brown female on phone (aka the writer's persona) encounters white guy with red hat who is the epitomy of I AM SILLY

Every single piece of hardware you own was most likely assembled by blistered fingers. You're just parroting what the fucking webcomic says without a hint of irony.

I think you just want poor people to be miserable because movies told you so.

how does he feel about pic related?

Attached: gigachad Biden voter.jpg (1024x547, 109.37K)

how about buying smartphones other than iPhones

>What if you follow my arbitrary standards of living so I can certify your poorness
Nah.

same factories.

>what if you buy something cheaper
same factory, same cheap labor, but less overpriced

>actually have a choice to buy products that aren't made in sweat shops.
no you don't

What part of "iPhones are affordable nowadays" is so hard to get, boomer? The bit where you can't rule over poor people's choices?

OP's comic doesn't have red hats.

>If it doesn't say "Apple" on it then it must have been ethically produced

What does iphones being affordable have to do with anything this thread is about?

>iPhone are affordable nowadays
maybe if you're upper middle class or above in Asia

This is so retarded. So you got called out on hilarious lack of self awareness for criticizing unethical business practices while monetarily supporting these very business practices. Uh oh, this is awkward, you didn't thought this through at all. So what do you do? Make a post saying exactly that topped off with a facepalm emoji? Commence the silence of shame? Haha fuck no, you make a grotesque parody of I AM SILLY comic which was a grotesque parody to begin with, going wildly off tangent the instant you're done recapping your blunder and making asinine nonsense points even by strawmen standards. If you think about it, all of this checks out, if you were dumb enough not to notice the problem your media posting even after its been pointed out, you'd be stupid enough to make this comic too.

Daily reminder that you deserve to be mocked if you use this comic as a retort unironically. Also, the sarcastic "I am very intelligent" perfectly describes Bors' readers.

It has to do with your non-white brain being successfully brainwashed into thinking Apple equals unaffordable, high class status instead of tacky and cheap.

Lmao visit your local pawn shop once in a while, sheltered tard.

You buy a phone because it's necessary in daily life, too. You need a phone for people to contact you for job applications, you generally need a phone number for applying for things like bank accounts or credit cards, and you need at least a phone capable of internet access to apply for virtually any job you don't have an in with already. What you don't need is an iPhone, the extra utility of which begins and ends at convenience pertaining to its integration with other Apple products and its ability to function as a status symbol. A lawyer on an Alcatel smartphone is not a good look. You can't fuck a woman who was raised upper middle class or wealthier if your messages come up as green bubbles. Past these, there's no reason to own an iPhone in particular. Any flagship from ~5 years ago or sooner will work as a communication and information tool just as well as any iPhone, so, yes, the guy in has a point in the 2nd panel.

I hate this guy's comics but I love the way he draws Trump just because of how much impotent rage you can tell was put into it.

Attached: trump-cares-about-women-rob-porter-edition-1-24a.png.jpg (793x678, 100.43K)

They are still overpriced. You can get better cellphones for cheaper prices.

Nobody was arguing that in the first place you utter retard

>better
There go the goalposts.

no, none of smartphones nowadays are ethically produced. but when we have cheaper and better alternatives with the same labor cost why not buy that
>used iPhones
they're usually have cracked screens, no thanks

It's fundamentally ingrained in your head. To the point where you can't possibly imagine owning a shitty iPhone becauae it's "overpriced" lmao.

It's disingenuous. You can't be mindlessly demanding labor reform while simultaneously consuming (ultimately unnecessary) products produced from slave labor.

It's like all these fucking commies with Patreons. Redistribute some of that wealth.

Put, no, it just gets hand waved away because this is different because...reasons.

>wow this person rather own other smartphones than Apple because it's expensive in their perspective how dare they

Better question: why would I support Apple in the first place?

>none of smartphones nowadays are ethically produced.

There are still differences between companies on how dickish they are on things like child labor usage, worker pay and right to repair and in those comparisons companies like Fairphone, BlackBerry and even fucking Nokia get better scores than Apple.

You don't think Samsung uses sweatshops?

...

Now you're just fuming.

There's good reason it's outsourced to Chinese sweatshops, the reason is that nobody will fucking pay $5000 for a $500 phone just because it was made by people working in nice conditions and getting paid well. The entire damn reason you have access to cheap shit is because someone had to make it for a bowl of rice - you just accept it as a fact of life and don't bring it up.

Bernie Sanders will not be the President.

This argument when reduced to its simplest point is,

>"You interact with society, therefore you cannot criticize this"

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Follow the production chain back and eventually you will find child slaves, sex crimes, and genocide. every square inch of land on earth was stolen at some point. you can't let all of that prevent you from trying to improve things or criticize the existing structure.

care to explain what is wrong with some people not buying an Apple because it's expensive for them?

They don't give a shit. It's ad hoc all the way down.

>Poor people can afford iPhones? Well why not choose a "better" phone?
>Oh, it's your personal choice? Well I hope you remember child slaves made those. >Oh, most if not all of the products I own are built in sweatshops? Well why aren't you living in the woods, eating your own shit?

They're not even nearly as expensive as you wish they were.

Nah man. I fully acknowledge the shit I consume is manufactured unethically. That's a reality.

BUT - I'm also no one of those faggots constantly spouting off commie bullshit to everyone and their grandma.
