Did everyone like this? I'm not normally one for disney shows but I gave it a shot anyway, it was refreshing. I just finished the last episode and I don't know what to say about it in particular. I think I appreciated how it handled "SJW" stuff which spergs get so butthurt over. Nothing forced or ham-fisted, it was just wholesome.

Liked the first 2 seasons. 3rd and 4th weren't so hot. Ending is pure irredeemable garbage.
>ending
Whay is that?
I thought it was pretty good. It reminded me of the game alice madness returns at the end she's in limbo between wonderland and london. HOW that happened was a bit meh but it didn't sour me at all. I marathoned the whole series and it felt pretty consistent in quality throughout. As for character relationships I think it was just barley within limits for me, for a show like thsi anyway. Like a single episode more of star and marco maybe loving each other would've been too much. That kind of shit can truly ruin otherwise good shows I think, it happened with futurama even.
I watched all of Season 1 and a bit of Season 2, ended up dropping it. I REALLY wanted to enjoy it and it had its moments, but I was just never a big fan of its style of humor. Combined with its nauseatingly fast pace (at least for me), I just ended up getting bored and the whole thing blurred together in my head.
Ah well. I guess I'll just go back to rewatching P&F and WoY again.
The pace was pretty fast. It definitely wasn't afraid of constantly making big changes. Ditching the S1/2 antagonist. star losing her wand/book. Huge location shifts. it felt like more happened in half a season than would happen in entire series runs of other shows. Probably that's why it felt refreshing.
ANy got suggestions for other good similar shows if I enjoyed this? I see steven universe posted alot and I recall spergs got intensely butthurt by it on release so it probably means it's good.
The way it went from a pretty silly fish out of water story to something a bit more serious and lore heavy and ending in a completely terrible dramatic conclusion was quite the ride.
Yeah it was clearly itched as a "relateable" highschool show with some wacky magic on the side. I think it handled a transition from a potential 1 season show to a multiseason expansion gracefully though. I wouldn't describe the show as heavy at any point though, even when shit was getting real it remained light and fun.
You serious? The finale was kino
I think it felt less like a conclusive ending and more like another paradigm shift leading into a season 5. it doesn't need another season and I don't hate the conclusion but idk. Maybe they thought S5 could be happening so wanted to keep some doors open in the narrative.
