it was a good game. one of the first story driven games that balanced gameplay with story where cutscenes are minimal. the story was also pretty intense throughout, which is difficult to pull off. i don't see how TLOU2 is going to live up to the original especially with all that has been revealed so far.

I liked the game. It was perfectly fine, a good 7/10.

Not to mention no multiplayer - I played through the story mode twice but it was online that held me with the game for a long time.

On the PS3 release, while the game had flaws, it was a fun as fuck experience and lots of people were talking of encounters, what crafting was useful, brick vs bottle threads, etc. I remember having a good convo with how cool the hospital was too, and if the choice joel made was right.

Maybe we have gotten too many underage losers that worship casual garbage like Animal Crossing, but yeah, most people enjoyed TLoU, even outside Yas Forums. Its a fun TPS and Sony is the only one really pushing out these single player focused games with actual budget.

The first TLOU was pretty good though. Soundtrack was my favorite part of it too. Not everyone is in it to just shitpost ya dumb faggot.

People who say it's a cutscene only movie game haven't played the game. There are a lot of pure gameplay segments, enemy types, stealth sections, shooting sections, bits where you explore and scavenge, etc.

Just because a game has cutscenes doesn't make it a fucking snore-along QTE b movie like david cage games. Guarantee you most of the people on Yas Forums who say this shit about last of us have not played it.

I would have liked it if they actually let me play the game. When I played through it I set it on Hard mode, assuming this would give me a better and more enjoyable challenge. But here's something funny: when you die too much in the game, the games difficult automatically decreases to help you get past the part you are dying on. Enemies will drop ammo and do less damage. The more you die, the more ammo they drop and less damage they do. And it gets worse! Dropped ammo stays with you until you use it, so the entire idea of managing resources and scarcity is completely gone-- it's literally all fake! You don't have to collect or manage anything, because if you don't have enough the game will provide it for you infinitely EVEN ON THE HARDEST DIFFICULTY.

There is NO WAY to turn this feature off, and there is no way to reset difficulty if you notice it is scaling you except to reboot the console. And one other thing, the game will you give you checkpoints even during combat, and when you respawn at a checkpoint all the enemies positions and alert status is reset. So dying just automatically pushes you forward eventually not matter what. Every "mechanic" in this game is fake. You can't play this game. If you fail, it will automatically correct your failures and advance you through the levels so you can see more cutscenes. Really! Fuck this shit!
