Smash Bros Online tournament player double DQ'd for 26 ping

Every once in a while, I encounter a laggy match, but the online works pretty well for me at least. I'd rather some more quality of life updates to make finding matches in Battle Arenas better (knowing which rooms have items and FSM on, how long a match has been happening, not having spectators cause lag during a match, etc).

What a joke. If you're going to have an online tournament then you know you're entering a whole different domain where ping is king, and where you have to accept not everyone will be equal, but they can all at least have a wired internet connection and strive for sub 50. Even sub 100 is fine for most games but as a fighting game is very precise, let's say sub 50. 26 is absolutely fine. What does he expect? What does he realistically want, and what did he expect in such a silly idea as an online tournament being taken seriously?

He lost to someone he shouldn't have and got the TOs to side with him.

Competitive Ultimate is a fucking joke. Tournament signups and viewership are down almost 50% from 2018. Evo being cancelled will be the final nail in the coffin for this game's competitive scene.

Ninentdo's shitty online is why my ping is MUCH higher than 26. I would be satisfied with 26.

This is retarded. I have 600 hours of Smash online but it can't ever be used as a real tournament. I thought this tourney was just so people could still have fun but they're making it super serious business with made up ping rules and other nonsense. Online is gonna lag, Smash online is shit, everyone should agree to that before they enter and not complain about lag.
It's already an illegitimate tournament since it's taking place online, but disqualifications over that make it even more illegitimate.
Lag spikes essentially become RNG, while they're at it they should tell Samsora to throw his bob-ombs off stage.
