What a fucking horrible idea

I can't wait to buy my third Switch I can't believe Nintendo keeps innovating so well

Switch 20 lbs edition confirmed.

and that's a good thing

OH BOY REV UP THAT 1 HOUR BATTERY LIFE

>third
>implying anyone bought a second

the only game that needed a second screen was monster hunter and i doubt they'd patch in duel screen functions this late

>Make a new switch with 2 screens when 90% of the user plays with dock only

The reason I like the switch is because it only has one screen.

the worst thing about the switch is that it ended the absolutely based DS line, you know, with that stable hardware that doesn't break, insanely huge library of games from an insane amount of third party support, good battery life and backwards compatibility. numbers might look good for the switch but if you take into account how much those two consoles sold, and how many games sold on them, it seems like nintendo definitely lost something with the transition to the switch

they aren't making a new model that would be de facto incompatible with the older games.

>making up false numbers

Why would it be incompatible? It'd just use one of the screens, maybe display a placeholder graphic on the other. Like a GBA game on the DS.

I keep the original Switch for playing docked or around the house. I then have the lite for my commute or at work.

Isn't the 3DS considered "current"? You don't know if the DS line will be discontinued. Also, I still own a NDS that works great, just because something isn't in production doesn't mean it's dead.

this would be great, all the switch needed to be was a beefed up 3ds with hdmi output but they removed a lot of good things about the 3ds for no reason.

DOUBLE PIECE OF SHITCH!

so what was the actual datamine?
how do people know it actually references new hardware and not just new firmware?
as I could see them adding DS emulation in a firmware update, which would explain the dual screen being referenced. The Wii U had a (pretty good) DS emulator that went almost entirely unused, it wouldn't surprise me if that was carried over somehow.

it's current in the same way the gameboy was when the DS was released. nintendo pretends old lines are current so they can go back to it / produce games for them in case the new console fails. now that the switch is semi-successful, it will probably be discontinued. i still have plenty left to play on the DS line so i'm still using them

OH SHID BROOOOOOOOOOS

The second screen would be used for inventory like the Wii U version.

Original switch cant mantain steady 30 fps in most games even with terrible graphics, but please add one more screen so shitty mobile gpu have to render twice as many pixels

>semi-successful
bruh

So it'll basically be a Nintendo DS. Nintendo really leally likes to push thw idea of multiple screens every time they can.

Why would you bother buying a switch just to dock it? Surely you are better off with a ps4 or an xbox, the point of the switch is portability

I would buy a dual switch day fucking one for a new Etrian Odyssey, no joke.

I'm glad nintendo's going to keep me in a constant state of paranoia that another revision is around the corner until I end up just never buying the system like the 3DS.
I still, 15 years later feel burned by buying a DS.

Why don't they just relase a wii u gamepad compatible with the switch

don't know where you pulled that complete bullshit statistic from, but it's wrong.

That's so they can keep selling 3/DS games well past the consoles' lifespan.

No, it's just a new dock you can use with the Switch. The dock has a small screen for dumb shit like the Dreamcast VMU.

This would make games like Mario Maker 2 easier to play in TV mode and games like Pikmin 3 possible.

>10 minute battery life
Not happening. You're all retarded.

Imagine being dumb enough to believe this obviously fake shit

When they view the Switch hardware versions in the firmware, it lists the codename along with the specs of the system, including screen type I guess. So you can view that the devkit has 8gb of RAM, that the Lite and red box Switch have the Tegra X1 revision, etc. Supposedly this new Switch features 8gb of RAM and 2 screens, which screams, to me at least, 3DS support and that Nintendo has heard loud and clear that the current 4gb isn't enough. Honestly, we're not gonna see a drastically more powerful Switch/Nintendo console until at least 2023.
