Real shit.
All 2D overhead Zeldas are shite, m8. But the Dark World is such a kino concept that it almost single-handedly saves the game and its sequel.
the dark aether
Dark Aether is often tedious though. Also, Sanctuary Fortress is the best setting in the game.
God the zoomer oozes from you
it was the originator of the one-world, two-sides trope. it's hard not to hold it in high regard
How about an equally kino setting
I just can't believe how decent the color schemes look for the tunics despite seeming like their colors wouldn't really go that well together.
Kind of reminds me of the alternate colors for the Jet Skis in Wave Race 64.
God, why vidya back then had so many great ideas and executions!
>Wave Race 64
take me back
Terranigma. Better game. Better music, better everything, even predicted the kung flu.
Tales of Eternia has so much soul that modern Tales are paled
I prefer the Light World map, but I can't so no to 7 more dungeons.
Its world is quite comfy
you're hearing the music manually now.
parts in games when the music doenst change even when a battle starts
Alttp is the worst zelda game, nothing about it is kino.
Ugly Link sprite
Bad controls
Tiny sword and enemies that do 4+ hearts per hit and respawn every time you leave a screen make navigating the world extremely annoying
Nearly 0 plot, even less than botw
The peak of 2d zelda was links awakening and the oracles
For me, it's sleek scifi settings with mecha and a tasteful amount of anime.
Is there literally anything that can give me the same feel as Xenosaga 3? I'm desperate.
Zeal is great, but Shevat in Xenogears was even better imo. The music is 10/10:

I've started this game a couple times and loved everything about it, but never even completed all the towers in the underworld. It's on my backlog, but I'm trying to get through some of the games I'm in the middle of first.
That music is definitely memorable though.
what is this?
are you literally retarded
Xenosaga 3.
Visually speaking, its everything the first two games should have been. Characters look great even today, and the environments feel big and immersive. If XS1 and XS2 were this good we probably would have gotten a full 6 game series as planned.
I feel like an idiot for not realizing that the weird map scrolling effect in the underworld was because it was the inside of a hollow earth until a year or 2 ago.
I finished link to the past recently, never actually beaten it before just got around to the dark world bits. beating ganon was probably the most unsatisfied I've ever felt beating a game. what the fuck happened?
Kino you say?
Games don't have to be better or worse than each other. Personally I love all my favorite games equally, and Terranigma is one of them.
Here's one from a recent game to keep the old school circlejerk under control.
The Zone is far more kino
All the environments in Automata sucked.
God tier taste
>Bunny Link is only in a single Zelda game
Very sad stuff.
FFVI - World of Ruin
>the first time you awake in that gloomy hellscape and the music kicks in
kino
If you want to turn this into modern circlejerk then
2d zeldas are the only real zeldas
This is the eternal kingdom of Zeal, where dreams can come true. But at what price?
Yep, anyone got more?
>Games that get bigger once you thought you beat it.
PS2 kino
It's alright Yoko stan Platinum saved your series. Cope.
>no cloud sea navigation a la skies of arcadia using gramps or some ship
>no actual interaction with titans; the fact that they're living and moving is only used in the background and never affects gameplay outside of 2 small areas where the tide matters
>inconsistent cutscene direction and full of technical issues (resolution drops, frame drops, the god awful temporal aa and sharpening filters)
I love XB2 but it could have easily been the best had it not been rushed for that 2017 deadline. It needs a definitive edition far more than XB1 ever did.
Cloud Sea setting was still kino, but the Bions/Mechonis in 1 was better executed imo.
Yes, that's why I don't post XC2 in the first place, but at least it tries to recreate the feeling of multiple worlds in old school RPG. Which Nier:A isn't

I don't read spoilers.
>45 minute long tough as nails level that tests everything you've learned about the game
its been a while
Illusion of Gaia is so forgotten under the pile of Final Fantasy shit from this era.
K-kino...
If The End is meant to replace the Skylands, it should have this level of verticality.
Hopefully it gets an overhaul like the Nether is getting.
Dark would Yas Forums would consist of mainly redditors who look like pepe and wojak
What a terrible place.
>The Village of Outcasts: Those without viyda are not welcome
It had a lot of SOUL but I don't think that it was a very good video game. Really short too.

It was top tier as far as action RPGs go the "of Mana" series overshadowed it is all. Although yes indeed it was packed to the brim with SOUL.
wow what an imaginative world map
That's a weird way to spell Phantasy Star
I've only played a bit of PSOBB. It has a great setting and music but I couldn't really get into the game.
Are the og Phantasy Star games similar? I hear good things about IV, and I'm desperate for more scifi kino.
4 is one of the best jrpgs ever
Kek
Silent Hill Otherworld
Everything was dying left and right in that game, places were comfy indeed but too many deaths
