You shouldn't expect people to give you a pat on the back if you shit out a turd, regardless of whether or not you worked really hard to push it out.

welcome to the real world lmao
Except the hate is directed towards the improvements
Maybe if they stopped hiring low-rent/low IQ minorities and women, the games would be better.
Usually those aren't actual "improvements" but adoption of a shittier style of drawing.
>developing
>improvements
Sketches just tend to look better than 'clean' work
There's a lot that goes into making something clean look good.
Think of it as the uncanny valley for art
A lot of artists, much like video games, fall for the detailed for the sake of being detailed meme, when in reality simplistic and well defined is better like 90% of the time.
yeah, fuck people for having different opinions!
2013 is better
If they were low iq they would be stuck in their shitholes and ghettos no?
Why is Twitter so fragile?
>2013 is better
>antidev
Why does Yas Forums care so much about what unimportant faggots say on another site? Twitter's only good for getting art from your favorite Japanese artists, especially since all they fucking do is post food, mobage screenshots, and their art.
Shit taste detected.
you have to understand that after years of working and not improving these people begin to kid themselves
What do you call the artstyle on the left?
Because It reminds me of something I can't really put my finger on.
As for the one on the right, I fucking hat the generic as fuck face.
>furry art
>What do you call the artstyle on the left?
>Because It reminds me of something I can't really put my finger on.
I know the feeling. I can't place it myself
>What do you call the artstyle on the left?
SOUL
Those drawings on the right make me physically ill.
Jesus fucking christ. Are they taught wrong as a joke or something?
>Artists cry about art being subjective and everybody has their preference
>Also cry about people having subjective opinions an not praising them constantly.
There's no such things as "improvements" in art, only "changes". If they are changes you like and believe show your sense of progress, then you are entitled to consider them "improvements". As such, everybody else is entitled to consider whether they like those changes or not.
Something along the lines of 90's manga cyberpunk
Like battle angel alita/gunnm but not exactly there
Plus a bit of 90's xtreme for all the katanas
Rather than fetishizing older games, I've found that a problem with a lot of indie devs is that they take much too heavily from older games that they like without realizing how outdated the younger generation sees those elements.
I'm 22 and have not met a single person my age who is super passionate about 3d platformers.
Jesus fucking christ
metal slug
maybe early 2000s newgrounds art that someone would make using a "how to draw manga" guide. does that help?
>Do something new and refreshing in 30 minutes that you won't care about
>Take a bunch of leaps and just let your emotions guide what you draw
>"wow that looks good dude, way better than the furry porn you draw!"
Imagine getting butthurt over an opinion?
i constantly see people post shit like this and it drives me up the fucking wall
Wtf did you pull this meme straight from facebook.
fuck thats right on the nose.
also this
>listen to new band
>pretty good
>only their first album was great
>after that they changed their style to some other junk that doesn't click with me
fpbp
It's up to the artists to decide what they want their art style to be but that also comes with people giving their opinion on which they prefer. I'm sure a lot of people prefer Picasso's realistic studies instead of the cubist era paintings.
In this case, I'm glad indie devs aren't listening to you zoomers and your shit taste.
That's it!
this is one of the most apt examples of soul vs soulless ive seen
Hey I’m 22 and I’m super passionate about 3D platformers
For actual animation purposes the work on the right it better as it's more simplified for animation slides but as a still image it's horrible.
I'm 23 and get better taste in video games you gay.
You know the rules.
Stream it
Those lips are the worst shit in existence.
it is like the Calarts version of tumblr nose.
It looks so fucking retarded. Like she has a cleft lip or something.
>pic
So people can't have their own preferences anymore, because it hurts these retards?
Honestly, most artists should just work in retail or something if they are such crybabies.
They were complimented, not criticized, and yet they found a way to act like a victim.
>we have purposely trained him wrong, as a joke
Just changing your style isn't improving. And nowhere in that pic it was "hating the new style". Fucking assoomer.
>having your head so deep in your ass you don't listen to your fans and absolutely push for your vision nobody else likes
There must be part of this story we're missing, this is too obviously retarded to be this simple
This is a garbage comment and people only like it for it's intent and not it's implementation. In context it makes absolutely no sense.
I am confused. Surely they didn't get worse... they just went with a minimalist look for newer stuff... but it definitely doesn't look as good as the old stuff. I bet this stemmed from courses teaching them that "simple = better" because that's what marketing shows when advertising for brands, and that shit made its way into the wrong medium.
As an artist, I can relate. Non artists can't relate because they don't put their soul into their job. As an artist, I do. So when someone says "oh I liked your other style better" when you've spent years crafting your new style is like the person saying "Oh I like the person you used to be better", it's almost a personal attack.
that's only if you want to be lazy and make shitty animations
its a two way street. I've seen fans turn great artists into garbage, and fans pleading to help them fix their shit.
Do eeet!
Left is so much more detailed and has more unique vibe. The right is so sterilized.
>RCDart is the artist name of Rory Cummings-Dise, an agender fan artist best known for controversial depictions of gender-swapped characters that they insist are transgender.
this is the part you're missing, it's just a complete mongoloid
>I can't differentiate between polygon count/texture size and aesthetics
go outside and die of corona
One thing I've heard consistently from successful people in creative professions is that it's often the pointless throwaway shit you do that becomes really successful, even while the stuff you work really hard on and are really proud of gets ignored.
The people who accept that and lean into the successful stuff become more successful, while the people who whine about it and say they want to be recognized for their "real" work end up fading into irrelevance. It's up to you if it's worth it.
CalArts.
WRONG.
Nah, well, obviously there are exceptions.
I like crpgs myself, planescape is one of my favorite games.
The point I'm trying to make is that a lot of indie developers make games that really only appeal to niche audience, and are surprised when they dont perform well.
Why most japs post in twitter anyway when their art and accounts gets deleted all the time.
>check their twitter
>fucking everything is deleted and blank
Maybe you shouldn't have developed into a shitty person then
kys furscum
This is the problem remakes (and some sequels) can run into as well. They are made by "fans" of the original who can't separate what was limitations of the systems, or what was actually good and fun versus what they only remember liking because of nostalgia.
I can't think of an example right away, but it's like if someone did a re-make of deadspace and went "you know what was cool about DeadSpace? GORE and having to dismember and stomp enemies rather than one-tap in the head!", and make a post-apoc zombie survival game with huge amounts of blood where headshots don't work... except the necromorphs worked because of the narrow corridors and sense of isolation, part of the tension was caused by the idea of walking through a VERY recently lived in area with fresh corpses that at any time could turn into monsters trying to eat your face, and the gore was used to add emphasis to how inhuman the monsters are and the circumstances are becoming with completely abandoning all concept of "respect for the dead" being standard operating procedure, as well as a satisfying heft to the stomp.
Yes necromorphs are cool enemies, but they are cool because of the context around them making them effective. A horde shooter with necromorphs denies them the context that emphasises their strengths.
No idea what the artstyle is called but you're probably thinking of king of dragon pass
Because it's less shit than Pixiv. Also for whatever reason Twitter doesn't really seem to moderate them as much. I've saved A LOT of cunny and guro from Twitter.
>Plus a bit of 90's xtreme for all the katanas
Definitely.
Very Shatterstar
that's dumblr
Gonna take a guess and say the left image probably took him a month to draw, while he did the right in a single afternoon.
like the right is litterally technically bettter. It shows a lot more knowledge behind it. but it doesn't really have style.
but at the same time the left is clearly copying style from other artists that the artist probably a fan of.
Right's art probably looks better with what he draws, Lefts art looks better for "cool anime shit"
