Was it the best Ratchet and Clank game?

In the end nothing beats the original.
Ratchet growing out of being a self-centered asshole and his growing friendship with Clank are just too good.
Logan Lopez
Platforming, world design and soundtrack were also the best in the original.
Ayden Ortiz
No, Going Commando was. Best gunplay, best gunplay variety, best gameplay variety, best enemies, best difficulty curve.
>muh story
lmao
Benjamin Diaz
3>1>2>Gladiator>ToD>The rest/dont care
Luis Parker
i recall Going Commando being my fav
Leo Harris
I think I am at the end fighting Nefarious. I don't enjoy it as much as the second game. After this I'll probably play the first game so I can finish off the trilogy. After that bounce to Sly 1 and 2 since I only ever played 3.
Oliver Nguyen
It also had the best weapons in the series.
Elijah Reed
2 was better, despite having a bad final boss.
3's only real claim to fame was Nefarious really.
Juan Carter
Even without strafing and arenas, I think I still prefer the first one.
Samuel Brooks
2 had the single best song in the series.
Connor Ramirez
any original trilogy game is good, everything after went to shit.
Gavin Peterson
This.
All 4 One, Deadlocked and Tools of Destruction being the shittiest ones.
Lucas Smith
The giant Protopet sucked, I remember beating it on my first try with the bouncer.
Anthony Bailey
>picking the one with the guitar riff
>when the brilliance of Bergeaud's score was the blend of synth and breakbeat with orchestra
plebeian taste
Levi Mitchell
Better balance of platforming and gunplay and a better difficulty curve due to being based on a four hit point with expansions system instead of leveling up your health bar so that your early weapons don't become useless, then?
Ryder Kelly
Meant for My mistake.
Isaac Cox
Hate these american names. But this was 3 right? I don't remember much but 2 had the Tesla Coil weapon that upgraded to Plasma Coil right? That was the best one.
Christopher Davis
This. XP mechanics ruined Ratchet.
Bentley Gomez
They brought that weapon back for 3.
>infector
>holoshield glove
>spitting hydra
>n60 storm
hard disagree.
Joseph Cruz
It's really interesting that the forced obsolescence wasn't a bandage or consequence. They intended that shit from the start. I guess I can't speak to the common moron, but all the weapons in the first game had their uses and there was incentive to keep using them in addition to the new ones.
Xavier Bailey
>Deadlocked
>Bad
Ok retard
Anthony Bell
Bomb glove was fucking dogshit.
Kayden James
Gladiator and 3 were the best
Daniel Thomas
You get the blaster and pyrocitor starting with the second level and they're both based so I can't complain.
Jason Edwards
>3 had the best weapons
The RYNO in 2 would beg to differ.
John King
>the weapon with an arc that you can use from cover
>dogshit
Bring the bomb glove back out for Oltanis. Shit is good.
Sebastian Lee
Imagine thinking Deadlocked isnt the worst game in the series.
Wyatt Bell
The story in 1 was retarded, the conflict between them was forced as fuck
Cameron King
Am I having a stroke or are you saying that weapons were meant from the get go to get replaced by newer ones while also speaking the praises of R&C1 keeping everything relevant?
Logan Green
Plebs underestimate the utility of Ratchet 1's weapons. They just want to see the biggest explosions happen all of the time and don't understand that you're supposed to select them based on the situation.
John Flores
>he didn't do a bomb glove + wrench-only run
Josiah Brown
This.
The game was linear as fuck with little platforming also the weapons were all ported from 3 except the scorpion flail
Joshua Clark
Bomb glove is fucking shit though, pyrocitor, blaster, devastator, wrench and sometimes visbomb already cover every situation in r&c1
Jacob Reyes
>he didn't do a true wrench only run except for drek fuck that
Brody Baker
> The game was linear with little platforming
Okay, this is the only valid critiquism for Deadlocked
> All the weapons were ported from UYA
...What? all of them are new.
Austin Evans
The weapons which were ported over were buffed massively, like the holoshield launcher.
Oliver Bell
The bomb launcher was amazing in 2 and 3 because you had aimbot lock on so you could jump like a retard and spam the nukes.
Elijah Sanchez
From the get go starting with 2. I didn't explicitly say so but its pretty obvious the forced obsolescence started with 2. The first game only had a handful of explosives and each had a different use case. In two they wanted to add a bunch more wacky weapons and they started to overlap in usage, so they made some available later and fit them into their dumb scaling progression.
Wyatt Evans
It's such a shame that Resistance developement took resources off of 3.
Julian Reed
GCfags and UYAfags can brag all they want about their games, but we DL chads have the best weapon in the series.
Nathaniel Rivera
(1=2=3)>Deadlock
Brandon Morgan
Kino Couch Co-Op
Ayden Cruz
Walloper was powerful as fuck and could take out swarmers as well as mid level enemies if you wanted to risk getting close to them. Tesla Coil turns you into a glass cannon if you can afford it (usually because you skip ultra nanotech).
Cooper Butler
>No Quack-O-Ray
What the shit man.
Camden Johnson
As someone who only played RC1, 2 and 3 and loved all of them...i have to say that gun looks like shit...is that what nu-R&C is like?
Eli Bennett
2>3>Gladiator>1
Don't care about the rest at all.
John Lopez
I could never get into the blaster in the original.
Piss poor range and awful damage. If I wanted to get that close to something might as well use the bomb glove for the AoE.
Owen Peterson
If you really never saw that i want to see your reaction after seeing actual nu-ratchet weapons
Oliver Davis
I must admit that it was refreshing to have a blaster that stayed pistol-like instead of turning into some light machine gun. I was surprised dual guns weren't done more in the series.
Wyatt Lopez
The blaster only had one problem and that was aiming it while moving. Without lock-on or strafing, it's kinda awkward to use unless you hang back in first person to aim.
Cooper Hall
>Hunter Mine Launcher
>napalm mod
Justin Peterson
>tfw forgot ratchet 1 has LG
breh
Brandon Torres
Will we show him?
the power of nu-insomiac?
Landon Hughes
Like I alluded to just before in this reply chain, Oltanis has multiple points that throw a bunch of enemies with difficult to avoid attacks at you in a small space, but each generally has geometry that lets you lob bombs in there in safety. That kinda thing happens a fair bit in the game. Also devastator ammo is a limiting factor later in the game unless you feel like abusing the PDA, so the bomb glove seriously remains useful. I keep it on my quick select to the end every time I play.
Dominic Lewis
I'd pay like 100+ bucks for an official pc port of the first 4 games with proper resolution, framerates and hd textures. But no, we get Halo instead. Fuck xbox niggers.
Brayden Baker
>scorpion flail with lightning mod
>level 10+ supernova with ammo mod
Christian Garcia
> warmonger
god fuck, that think it's so fucking ugly.
Can we have our boy minirocket tube back?
Colton Anderson
These guys get it
Bentley Cox
nahw dude, rachet and clank 1 is a legendary game for tons of reasons but it is just....so much worse than both 2 and 3, having played 1 the last as a child (blockbuster didnt have 1 to rent, bite me) getting around to 1 just really felt lackluster, everything is just a little bit worse, from combat to enemies to movement.. again, its still a legendary game and a good one to boot but damn dude noooo.
Adrian Rivera
So the Clank Zapper. What's the point?
Matthew Miller
That's another point about the first game that goes underappreciated. Ammo is so important that the PDA is actually useful, but the PDA is actually expensive to use so it's a fair tradeoff to use it.
I don't think anyone used the PDA when they brought it back for Ratchet 3.
Joshua Hughes
Imagine nu-ratchet that plays like Doom Eternal
Luke Thompson
I ask the same about the tornado gun from TOD.
Jordan Hughes
Enemy variety in three sucks balls and these bullet sponges look like ass.
Nolan Rivera
I don't think I have ever used the PDA since I actually used all the weapons, and the wrench and suck cannon for fodder.
Sebastian Kelly
That one has an easy explanation, it's a sixaxis gimmick weapon. The same is true of that rolling lightning ball weapon.
Jordan Lopez
What weapons and characters should return next game?
