PSA for anyone having performance issues.
The steam/gog release uses a mod called sfall to add some quality of life, but it's a very old version of sfall. Get the latest version and install that.
Also I'd recommend finding a way to cap the framerate. The game running at a constant 2000 frames per second might cause your gpu coils to whine.
I think I put 40 hours into this game alone in just 1 week. It's some good shit.

The interface isn't great, but you can live with it. Combat with more than four actors is a fucking slog, though.
