Autism the Thread

Do TPS games count?

No its not. It's only good when you've memorized every enemy placement, which you shouldn't ever have to do if even a modicum of level design has been taken into consideration.

Half-Life 1 and 2 both start off in trains.

The monorail level in Dead Space 2. Best train level of all fucking time.

yes it is

Underrail is basically all about metro

>rail transportation

Binary Domain had a good train.

Binary Domain and Vanquish

Would Satisfactory count? It has some (shitty) shooting elements, and lets you build your own train network.

Condemned 1 had a fun train section. Blood 2 starts on a train but that game is awful

NO. But I'll make an exception for Max.

What game is that?

>Shooting section where you're fighting from the back to the front of a high speed train, tearing up carriage after carriage on your path

Ion Fury

Half Life has an entire rail section later.

F.E.A.R. 2 has a train segment near the end of the game

Jedi Academy had one level where you had to fight your way to the front of a train. It's sort of a shooter.

What game is that?

Hard Reset

Why are trains so damn endearing?
Like, you can't do a lot with them, they go back and forth and that's it, I guess, but they look so nice you just want to ogle them for hours, they sound unique, I can't describe what makes them so nice.

Yes, third person is allowed.

Lost Planet 2 has an entire chapter dedicated to train pirates hijacking a massive railway artillery gun.
Its so huge it sits on top of two trains running parallel and you need all four teammates to operate it at full power.

Came here to post this.

I also have a weird love for trains. Is it autism, lads?
Grandad used to drive steam trains as well
dad used to collect trains.

after 14 years I finally learned how to spoil

Doom 3

Is it good? All I ever hear about it is that people don't like it because it's not enough like the earlier doom games. Is it good in it's own right?

yes

Yes, it is good.

>bazooka shell
this triggers my autism

Does this count youtube.com/watch?v=cHql3IUOIoA

Stay away from Train Sim World boys, it's hot garbage
>German trains excluded.. they're pretty comfy.

holy fuck I remember this.
I never finished the game. Is it worth a go?

Not as good overall as Jedi Outcast in my personal opinion, but it's worth a play if you want a jedi outcast spinoff of sorts

Man, that fucking game. It looks so cool and plays fine but there's just something wrong with it. I have started it twice but can't play more than a few levels.

Too bad modern trains are shit. Can't go outside to enjoy the air and the view, and they are filled with junkies and smelly people.

>Is it good in it's own right?
Yes. Don't listen to retard purists. They wouldn't like a new doom game even if it was exactly like the originals.

I get that. Shooting the robots isn't as satisfying as Binary Domain, most environments are too dark, the weapons aren't satisfying to use. Also seems like a small thing but I don't like how the weapon is an all-in-one instead of different weapons. It makes it more boring to use.

Because junkies and smelly people didn't use public transport in the past.

It's a 7.5/10 game but everyone expected the second coming of Jesus Christ.
It's also slower paced and true to the original vision of the devs, but meme mods, speedrunning and advance in graphical fidelity meant that even in 2004 no one could take OG doom seriously as a horror game and wanted le RIP AND TEAR instead.

It's not a shooter, but play INFRA, you are in for a treat.

Metro

cool. thanks, user!

Don't mind retarted letsplayer, there aren't many videos on this game.

Crysis Warhead

Just don't go in expecting typical Doom gameplay. Personally I don't like it, even disregarding how different it is from typical Doom games, but it's not without it's highlights.

Why is INFRA so atmospheric, bros? It triggers my industrial nihilism.

This vid was a nice watch about this.

Fistful of Frags has one map with a train that loops around the whole map. Shame the dev is a faggot, nuked the fun out of the game, and refuses to add more train maps.

Alright I'll give it a go. Need something to play until Bannerlord gets released.

Play the ORIGINAL, not BFG edition.
