What is the fastest way to get weapon proficiency up? I need dual swords up so I can unlock a mission in the fourth region and just killing shit at my level with it is too slow right now.

I just started and I’m still laughing my ass off at the dub. The dub VAs are surprisingly decent to good but holy shit they could not have picked the most polarizing accent for the dub because the last thing I expect to hear from 16th century Japanese peasant is bong speak. It’s giving me PS2 era dub vibes, but in a good way. Honestly contemplating playing the whole game with the dub on because I want to hear what Bong Nobunaga sounds like.

Unrelated but I wish these were the VAs they got for Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s dub.

at least in terms of how people view them/popularity. Hatchets are actually pretty good BUT only when you unlock all their Veteran tier skills. Their Novice ones are garbage and Adept barely unlocks anything.

I'm retarded, can someone explain the difference between Yokai realm and Dark Realm? I want to unlock those nodes that reduces the penalty to ki recovery speed but not sure which one is worth taking. Isn't the Yokai realm that area they create when fighting them? So what's the dark realm?

yokai is dispersable pools
dark is the shadowrealm

dark realm is when you walk into an area and it's all black and white, yokai realm is the little circles yokai make on the ground

I think aberrant soldiers or whatever they're called are worse. They still shoot at you from out of nowhere but they also have three times the range and damage. Harder to pick off at range too since their heads are smaller.

Fuck, so the realm that yokai pull you into is the dark realm, damn it. I should have invested points into that and not the yokai realm. It's easy to disperse the yokai realm.

The dark realm is what's fucking annoying.

I think if you go to the dojo menu you can reset your skill points for an individual tree for cheaper than resetting all of your skill points and stats

have you actually experienced PS2 era dubs? Because even though TN games are to always be played in Japanese, the dubs in this game do not hold a candle to say Onimusha 1 and 2 or Tenchu 1, plus burgers were the norm for dubs in PS2, not bongs.

1 was great, Wirriam was a great protag, the effects and sound effects were more readable and better. Will need to play more of 2 to form a real opinion. Although it's hard to really form a proper opinion on the roachstation with this dogshit resolution and unstable fps.

Switchglaive is cool and fun.

Hatchets are not bad but have clear design flaws, mainly no fluid ways to go from close range to long and throws requiring charge time.

I just used a big ass 2H sword and played it safe

The key is anticipation. It's much less of a pure reaction and more of an anticipation and reaction. You are better able to anticipate moves by fighting enemies again and again until you internalize their moves and get a feel for when they'll do specific attacks.
