hehe benis

So they made Halo 5 shit because they couldn't NOT make it shit?

Attached: I think.jpg (1280x720, 196.8K)

REQ PACKS LOL

Attached: 1527537887432.png (105x97, 23.68K)

But there's zero excuse on why they didn't have forge on launch.

So someone else made the Halo series go to shit?

Attached: ER7OZuBX0AA3m6r.png (595x645, 39.9K)

Has this guy never used a product he thought was poorly designed, or wished a product had a specific feature in his entire life?

someone's about to be looking for new employment

thats the same guy who made opensauce for custom edition

Shut up Cass

Except the thing ALREADY FUCKING EXISTED
AND THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO CHANGE IT
THEY HAVE LITERALLY NO EXCUSE

>needlessly censoring oneself

Attached: 1576237518682.png (501x445, 191.85K)

so game dev isn't hard, making a design doc for proper features is.

>person takes their work home with them and bitches on a public forum about it
sounds like a bad hire to me

So they made a product people didn't like and complain that the audience tells them what they wanted? At least it's good to know to avoid anything 343 releases.

I bet this turd could have fixed some of the issues with ce by now. some of them are literally just checking a bitmask and they didnt even fucking do that to fix the fog effects.

>NOOOO IT'S ONLY BAD BECAUSE WE PLANNED TO MAKE IT BAD AND THEN IT WAS TOO LATE TO CHANGE ANYTHING
Based

Sounds like he has shit management and project development protocols
>UH, BUT IF THEY ARE SHIT WHY DON;T YOU TELL ME A BETTER ONE
cut the bullshit, work on the game crybaby

worse, they are so incompetent they don't even know how to manage their work to stay in schedule, i owuldn't be surprised about it tho if you take a look at gamedev studios not only most of their jobs are filled with people that do jack shit but they also take breaks most of the time and then complaign when they have to "crunch" it when the game is about to be released

only thing i get from this is that 343 can't do X because they like making excuses. "it's too hard" isnt an excuse. see CDPR. just work harder, smarter, be excellent. unfortunately there is very little talent, if any, working at 343. it's actually surprising they can do anything at all.

Why can't 343 do basic shit like audio encoding?

343 employees can burn until they rescind the REQ pack system, fucking assholes.

Attached: 1556428310528.png (719x713, 586.72K)

TO DO AUDIO ENCODING YOU NEED A BUDGET, A PROJECT PLAN, A SPEC, A DESIGN DOCUMENT, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WORK IT TAKES TO DO THAT? WE CAN'T DO THAT!!!! GEEZ

Has any series fallen from grace as hard as Halo?

No, his point is that the people who do poorly designed things are aware of it, but couldn't act on it. When you get massive projects like video games or movies, it sure happens. A lot of these problems are political or a matter of organization.

Warcraft

>who do poorly designed things are aware of it, but couldn't act on it
Like all of halo 4 and 5? Thats fucking retarded

>"BUT DOING THING VERY HARD. TIME AND RESOURCES"
>Modders implements them in a day with little to no bugs and without a staff of Q&a testers,
these retards can fuck off. lieing little twits

>you don't understand, our poorly run system is poorly run!

What a fucking loser

maybe actually be fucking competent and don't use flighting your shitty backwards ass ports to just generate hype instead of bug test? maybe actually do everything in office instead of shipping it to the z-team to work on it? maybe find key members/modders/etc of the community who are not influencers and hire them to try to ensure the game comes out as intended? maybe don't listen to your parent company, who would never close your studio because they don't have the spine, and actually finish the product before sending it out? modern game development is just "hurr durr I know more than you because I got my cs degree at a community college so therefore any thoughts you have about how should handle something is invalid because you, the consumer, are not the expert"

Maybe the devs should just have done in the first place, and then no one would be complaining about the devs not doing .

>properly doing the job we are being paid to do is too hard and if you complain about how we half assed it you are an entitled shit
That is funny considering everything 343 has ever worked on has been a fucking disaster. Literally none of the titles they've worked on, even ones developed by other companies and only requiring the simplest of porting jobs, have released in a finished state requiring years of patches to be remotely acceptable.

What a pathetic display. Truly a disgrace. Sad.

They shouldn't have ever made the MCC in the first place or brought Halo to PC.

Top kek at incompetent corporate shit heaps. He wouldn't have any of these problems if he was making art with some friends.

I don't really get why people buy boardroom designed focus group tested schlock then complain its bland. What did you expect? THEY HAVE SCHEDULES PEOPLE!!1!!!1!!

>*nothing*, -anywhere-, EVER goes to plan
stopped reading there
nothing ever goes to plan if you don't know what the fuck you're doing you dumb motherfucker
people who are actually competent will have less issues and have more things go their way because THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING

>Sells a broken port TWICE
>Push your failures on the people you tricked
LMAO

WAAAHHH MY LIFE IS SO HARD

Attached: 1582162283068.png (1434x1000, 2.32M)

>person takes their work home with them
I honestly don't get this. Is it something Americans do because they think they have to be loyal to their jobs, so they self-identify with what they do to earn money to the point they take everything personally?

It boggles my mind imagining one of our developers publicly speaking out about customers who weren't satisfied with a feature or asking why a feature wasn't implemented in a certain way. It would be weird as hell.

I understand that they only have two guys working on MCC for PC but 343 needs to realize no one gives a fuck about Halo Infinite and divert more resources to fixing MCC.

>NOOOOOOO FEEL BAD FOR US A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR WORTH AAA DEV

>This kills the 343i dev

Attached: 1581431711594.jpg (400x300, 27.97K)

I don't know who this guy is, but it's literally not my job to write design documents for you. It requires effort and time I would rather spend on actually doing my own job instead and it was your job in the first place.
Yeah, gamedev is hard, maybe you even had genuinely shit conditions, but if thing is shit, it's shit and people will complain about why it's shit. That's how product feedback works. People don't know if the game failed because you were doing coke or saving the world from demons, in the end, they just want a working product.

From a business perspective, you really shouldn't openly shit on people complaining because those people still care about your product. Complaining means they're still invested and want to like it. Even if their feedback is shitty to sift through, it's infinitely more valuable than all the people who just go, "this fucking sucks" while taking their money elsewhere.

Entitled money grubbing nepotist.

no, what they should've have done is brought it to PC, but actually invest time and research in seeing how PC shooters play compared to console shooters. most halo maps have sight lines that, on console, would be hard to hit accurate shots on, but on pc these are easily countered because you aren't using a fucking analog stick to move your crosshair. almost all the ce and reach maps are just circles with limited cover that when you're movement and aim is heavily restricted it works. they quite literally took a game that is hard coded and programmed to be on one platform and forced it onto another with little changes and expected people to just lap it up with no questions

He's right. Most people have no idea what the fuck they're talking about especially virgin gaming boys.

You don't need all that shit to implement basic bitch functions

This

I mean, he did make opensauce. They didnt just hire this guy for nothing.

seriously is there any industry that looks down on its audience as much as videogames?
this sounds like a literal child getting angry because people didnt like his game

>YOU NEED TO DEMONSTRATE YOU CAN DO MY JOB BETTER THAN ME BEFORE YOU'RE ALLOWED TO CRITICISE THE THING I'M SELLING
Why do hacks always resort to this retarded excuse? I can't run a restaurant, but that doesn't mean I can't tell when my food is fucking burnt.

FOOD ANALOGY. :^)

this is why game developers don't deserve paid overtime

>bandwidth
>stakeholders
>agile
These are all buzzwords that don't actually mean anything.

Halo doesn't fucking work on PC, this was proven in 2003. Halo is a CONSOLE shooter, MS and 343 are retarded for thinking otherwise, you all get what you deserve. Glad I didn't fall for HCEA, MCC, or PC.

>game dev who is wildly incompetent and probably doesn't actually even play the product knows what he's talking about
versus
>xx year old man child who plays the game every day and actively sees how the incompetency of the dev team is negatively affecting the game and wishes they'd change it because fundamentally the game is enjoyable but its fucked over by devs that are too ignorant to change simply because their status symbol as an aaa company is purely from nepotism.
daily reminder 343 gave a black history player card for last month and also rounded up all their black developers for a group photo for woke points instead of actually trying to tackle the issues with their wackass port.

Custom Edition was good though.

halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/84ad72a8b51847978545f685f651fc15/topics/is-anyone-upset-that-we-re-can-t-mix-armor-for-mcc/5dc4f5af-b6ca-4c0f-8751-3379853982ec/posts?page=4#post76

I told 343 how to fix their busted armor customization six years ago and they're only just doing it now, lmao.

Maybe they should read their forums.

like 60% of twitter users have SEVERE brain problems

it's a tranny

>make my job for me cuz I suck dick at it.

Fuck you, pay me.

Halo Online, more specifically El Dewrito played incredibly well, so I have no idea what you're talking about. It was just a port of 3 with physics slightly altered. It's unironically probably one of the best playing Halos just because it has peak map design and gameplay. 2 and 3 have some of the purest form of how the game is meant to be played. Unironically if 343/MS wanted to push halo to pc, they would just need to make precision weapons power weapons instead of fucking spawns and the game would work so much better

MCC took four fucking years to get into a working (not even 100%) state. Also just yesterday CE crashed on me three different times on the PC version. They charge $60 for the original release and have the nerve to charge people again on the PC. They deserve whatever shit they get.

>WE WANT TO MAKE A GAME THAT WE LIKE, NOT A GAME YOU WOULD LIKE

the fact they stated way back sprint will still be in future Halo's spoke volumes

Attached: twitter threads.png (419x120, 11.95K)

Yas Forums is dumb as fuck so they won't understand this but when you're in a company working with hundreds to thousands of people there's a lot of red tape and bullshit that makes the company slow and ineffective
the reason why modders can do shit faster than devs can is because they can just do the thing without having to propose thing to the manager, wait for the manager to approve it, then have the dev implement it and test it, etc.

basically these AAA companies are bloated and incompetent people slow down the competent ones but good luck convincing companies to restructure everything

Just sounds like a case of "Fuck large studio game development", because everything is a multi-step weighed process to determine if it even gets the greenlight because shit needs to be managed sanely across 20+ people.

Vs. some indie group of 5 where the artist yells across the room to the lead programmer "Yo wouldn't it be cool if X?".

eh to be fair that probably took a total of 10 minutes, it's still fucked up to just gather only 1 race for a photo no matter what the reason is though

>What do you mean your house is literally falling apart, water is leaking and there's mold everywhere?
>If it's so bad why don't you make a house yourself you entitled pig!

Job security is a lie and you can be fired for literally any reason in some states(other than being a protected status, so they just make something up to pretend you weren't fired because of race or whatever) and tech companies tend to include in the hiring contract that you are not allowed to publicly say anything negative about them, even if you're just tech support for Apple you can't shit talk the new baby toy looking OS user interface.

This was after the community worked on it, how about telling the whole truth.

Literally all they have to do is make a game that plays like Halo 1-3 lmao

hes pissed that people are complaining

Attached: Untitled.png (1265x53, 12.53K)

blame the multibillion dollar corp that doesnt care if the game is shit or not.

343 is just trying to be woke. MS is just trying to be woke. Fucking MS is working on an AI to actively censor swears because they don't want "muh feelers" hurt. It's genuinely fucking depressing how Halo went from really enjoyable to handed to actual retards and now the parent company has the same amount of brain damage and is trying to cater to literally every person on the planet instead of just sticking to their original consumer base.

also ai censor source: thesun.co.uk/tech/10137863/xbox-voice-chat-bleeping-swear-words-microsoft-live/

Fine, but why say anything about your company at all? You don't have to publicly defend them, do you?

>Halo doesn't work on PC
>Here are two examples showing that it does
>NU UH THAT REQUIRED THE COMMUNITY SO IT DOESN'T COUNT
LOL. Goal post moving retard. Keep talking so I can smack your low IQ retard brain into the dirt.

He's 100% right. If someone who's never painted a car came into my job (auto body tech/painter) and started giving me unsolicited advice on how to do my job I'd give them a coke and a smile and tell them to shut the fuck up.

Isn't the only problem with MCC H1 the fact that it's the PC version with missing graphical effects and the fucking terrible matchmaking system that MCC has for every game? I don't know if the PC version itself is fucked at all.

Most people not understanding the indepth details of video game development is not an excuse for making a bad or boring game.

Halo Online even in its infancy was fun. I remember playing the early builds and it was still a very enjoyable game. It was more akin to Halo 4 at the time, in terms of how it played, but had GOOD map design with more of a Halo 3 vibe to it. Granted, the art style was fucking abysmal, but Online was pretty fuckin' good even from the launch. Hell, I remember being at the ground zero for the initial leak and jumping on that shit so fast. I can't speak for CE because I never really liked the original Halo that much. Halo 2 is my all time favorite and I think its where the series peaked in gameplay and map design

It's too bad El Dewrito seems so dead. Last I checked was a couple months ago and I couldn't find many games going besides the usual fatboy/infection/castle wars shit. I guess not that many people found out about it because you aren't allowed to stream the game apparently

It's true and correct. Dunning Kruger is real. The people who scream the loudest tend to be the dumbest. That doesn't mean the rollout schedule for MCC on PC isn't dumb as fuck. It should have just been released in one big bundle. This drip drip style of release just magnifies every problem and leaves no recourse. Also, it started with Reach (yes, I know why it started here)one of the worst Halo games.

So basically I agree with the guy but also think Halo MCC on PC could have probably been handled better. It's fucking Halo. Pay someone what it requires to do it right. Period.

343 don't know to make a classic Halo game, they make it will be worse than 5, just stick to modern shit, they're not old Bungie.

You can stream the game under the caveat that you do not distribute it or explain how to get it. If you google hard enough you can find the files for the base-game and you can still get the conversion with no issues. I play it pretty irregularly, but I know someone was working on porting 3's campaign to it

Good analogy, but this is closer to being served shitty food and being told that because you’re not a master chef, you have no right to criticize the cook.

>Do your job for me
Fat chance code monkey, now go back to your kennel.

It really doesn't count if the community has to fix your shit, I want a working product DAY 1.

It played like broken trash until some Mexican mutts fixed it.

>DUDE HOW ARE YOU NOT SATISFIED WITH A MEDIOCRE PRODUCT?
>DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TIME AND EFFORT IT TAKES TO MAKE SOMETHING GOOD? STOP COMPLAINING
why is this AAA dev talking like some indie fag on Steam forums?

Manlets really have it hard.

The customer is always right.

Not actually but you have to pretend they are because consumers are faggot retards.

The greatesr fear of developing a game for me is having to deal with the hordes of subhuman little mixed race American mongrels (picture FaZe Jarvis) complaining about "optimization" and game features without revealing my power level. Like, you're a subhuman mongrel whose most cerebral activity is playing video games. You have no idea how software works, you monkey.

He sounds like a massive faggot. People will criticize and people will complain. Take it in stride, you did something or worked on something they didn't. But not everything screamed into the void is without merit. Learn from the constructive complaints and prove the complainers wrong.

Stop suggesting however that your shit doesn't stink, especially coming from a person who iss part of a bigger team who was given the worlds largest video game franchise and ran it into the ground in an attempt to compete with flavor of the month military shooter #343

Take me back

>"mother fucking", "fuck", "shit", "fuck"

Why do people talk like this? What happened to education? decent behavior?

>it played like trash
it had initial problems running, but it was still a relatively tight shooter iirc. i think i have an early build of it on an old hard drive somewhere.

>He doesn't know
Go look up the reviews for Amazon on Indeed and Glassdoor and tell me they aren't astroturfed.

This. The consumer shouldn't shovel shit down their throat just because they "understand" the devs' point of view. Demand better.

>according to our stats
How does this guy have a realistic idea of how many times his (presumably shit given by his e-begging) game has been pirated? Did he seed the torrent himself or something?

Attached: Tsukasa Thinking.png (733x1200, 509.21K)

They all mean things. He's just using them poorly and/or incorrectly.

I think revealing your power level would be a good thing because it would confuse the fuck out of most of them and maybe they would understand the situation a bit more.

>his point is that the people who do poorly designed things are aware of it, but couldn't act on it.
That isn't always true. There have been times that modders have implemented very simple fixes for games with huge issues. A recent example is Street Fighter V, in 2 days a random guy made a mod that went a long way to fixing the netcode. This game has been out for years getting netcode updates that never managed to fix it. Only after he humiliated Capcom did they patch it again, implementing worse version of his fix. Before all this the devs said in an interview that they thought the netcode was great, when everyone always complained about it.

So no, sometimes devs are just incompetent.

They must have changed that on twitch then, idk I don't follow their rules but I do remember when the update first released they were handing out 24 hour suspensions over it.
