What has happened is that the laws of supply and demand are not effecting market value.
I just called all my Local Coin Shops - The only silver available was a 100oz bar for $1800. That is a $6 premium/oz on a large piece. Completely unheard of. However I don't blame him. They also said that no distributor can provide any silver in the foreseeable future.
Hopefully this event brings a little honestly to the value of PMs. But things are weird, and it is a great time to have physical possession of Silver, Gold, and all other PMs.
